Nah, it's been creeping in pretty hard. And the area has been going downhill since.

@@kchilz32 I dunno how the vote is going but I am definitely noticing the city likes to control major aspects of our economy here. Prices are high on rent and internet, and there is no real functioning economy here. The college owns about the entire northern part of the city's residential. If you spend a dollar it immediately leaves town. Midco offers extremely competitive internet rates but they're not available to consumers here, but leaving 15 minutes in any direction and they are suddenly available again. But the city controls one of the two ISPs in the town, and naturally they are crazy expensive. They won't allow a competitive liquor store, the city operates the only one. We've had a BLM rally which was weird cuz it was a few hundred white people denouncing racism while being scolded how racist they are. This year the bars closed so naturally crime has gotten insane. I've been here for five years trying to make it work but honestly I'm at the point where I just want out. I've been to better places recently and that's where I want to be.
Also I don't like being negative but that last bit about having stuff to do is a straight lie. I'm a photographer and videographer. I went to Michigan recently and I used my cameras more there than I have their entire lifespan in Brookings. My DSLR is about a year old now. That year before my trip, I used it in Minnesota, Sioux Falls and Iowa far more than I used it in Brookings. On the flip side, if you want to fill your time, you only viable option is just work. Like, woo...

Lmao if it's so nice then why is the weekend retention rate for SDSU terrible? I don't mind, I like a quiet campus, but this place is fricking dead on weekends.
