As a food service manager, my favorite thing in the world is "I'm never coming back here again" or some variant of that and hitting them with the "Thank you, you've caused enough problems this one time." It's beautiful. They just shut down, they think their $15 pays my entire paycheck.
I work at the customer service desk at Lowe's and we have a similar response from angry customers that will say "I'm going to shop at Home Depot" (which in kinda makes sense since Home Depot is just around the corner) and my response is always "ok have a nice day". My favorite part is the shocked look on their face after I say that. Honestly the thought going through my head when they say stupid shit like that is go ahead shop at Home Depot, don't let me stop you. Good luck finding someone to help you while you're there.
Okay so real question: why do so many people, especially old people say they're never gonna come back as if that's gonna affect that employee? If you're doing something you're not supposed to then people aren't going to feel bad. I genuinely don't understand why people like to use that as an argument
eh sometimes the business is in the wrong but refuse to admit it especially small businesses and spreading bad words of mouth is the customers only resource. this isnt a good example one that happened to me is a convenience store wouldnt let my grandmother in with her service dog who was wearing a vest clearly marked as such(she has a spinal injury and without that dog she will fall), we could sue them for that now but back then our only resource was to spread the word, that business doesnt exist anymore. so yea there are legitimate reasons to ask for a manager because employees can be karens too and you should give management the opportunity to change course before pursuing further action.

I once accidentally showed up way too early to meet my friends for lunch at a restaurant by our mall, so I decided to see a movie to pass the time. It was early afternoon on a Tuesday, so I was the only person seeing the movie, some horror movie. I'm sitting there chilling, I have the whole theater to myself and somehow I still managed to locate and sit in the seat I MYSELF HAD CHOSEN when buying my ticket - this asshole CHOSE his seat, if this was an AMC. I was about an hour into the movie when a strange man walked right into the empty theater and sat down directly beside me. It was dark and I was alone and I started feeling scared, so I went to find an employee and explained that the man hadn't done anything wrong, it was just really WEIRD that he'd walked into an empty theater showing a movie that had started an hour ago and sat down right next to the ONE other person sitting alone in a huge, empty theater. The employee went to speak to him, he hadn't even bought a ticket, but when the employee said they needed to call mall security he absolutely lost his shit and started screaming and flailing, and they called the cops who found zip ties and a screwdriver in his pockets before taking my statement. Those theater employees definitely saved my life, I hope this asshole loses his job and everything else he loves. It's the only way entitled people will learn.
Always gotta love the "I'm never comin back, and i'm tellin everyone about this!" arguement. Cuz normally if you use that excuse, the results can only be better once you never come back.
I used to work at a fast food/ gas station hybrid and we would all be aware if there was a disturbing customer even in the kitchen because you could hear it / see our manager rushing around to deal with something. Would always love when she would then go on the radio and tell us all " they said theyre not coming back. Sad" and we would all just giggle. Loved her sarcasm lol
Yeah I lost all patience after Covid. I had a guy say that to my coworker and I said "Good. We don't want your business" after he probably broke a rule.
For real. Some lady came through drive thru when I worked at DQ and got the prices wrong and somehow it was my fault and I was trying to steal her money lmao. Refused to get out of line and come in to resolve as well while there was a line out into the street forming. My manager went outside and showed her the mistakes she made and she hits us with the I'm never returning here again line lol I hope she felt foolish.
Be nice to movie theater employees. We are underpaid, we are mistreated, we don’t set the prices, we don’t set the rules, and we don’t even get benefits besides free tickets. And most of our employees are teenagers or part time employees who work a second full time job. I’ve worked food industry, retail, and movie theater industry, and the worst people are movie theater customers. I’ve been spit on by a customer for having Pepsi products not coke, I’ve been shoved down by a customer when asking him to leave after he snuck into a theater, we’ve had a lady call an employee the N-word because we were sold out for the new Top Gun, I’ve been called a Nazi because I asked to see someone’s ticket because they were sitting in someone else’s seat, someone every few weeks purposely overflows the sinks/toilets just cause, I clean shit out of the urinals way more than the average person should have to in their lifetime, had customers harass employees on their way into work because we are busy and they don’t want to have to wait in line, the average general manager turnover is around 1 1/2 years because the pay and benefits are so little and can get paid more working as a Target employee. It’s crazy that people think incidents like this happen rarely at theaters, because customers see a movie once every month maybe longer, but the situation in this video happens at my theater atleast once every few weeks and can happen almost daily during peak seasons like around Christmas. If you’re a movie theater employee I’d love to read your experiences below so everyone can see the shit we go through.
Ooh okay. I work in the boxoffice selling tickets in the movie theatre. Lots of older men harassing me. This one lady kept calling me names because I wouldn’t allow her 10 year old daughters into an R rated movie by themselves. Lady yelled at me because Elvis was sold out and I couldn’t get her any tickets since there was obviously no seats. Movie theatre employees get it extremely rough lmaoo
The girl worker knows what she is doing. She came in and when the guy was asking please she goes were not doing this, you need to leave now. This is so strange to me. Where I’m from, you don’t get assigned seats for movie theaters. Where I’m from you buy a ticket, walk into the theater room, and you pick your own spot. For movies that have been out for a while there’s at most 10 people for 100 chairs For a brand new, really popular movie on the first couple of days is about 50 people to 100 chairs. That’s as crowded as it gets.

Sit in the chair next to it and move the fuck on. One seat spot won't make a difference. Instead, they've gone out of their way to complain and make an otherwise chill guy angry over something that didn't need to be complained about. Imagine he did move and then you're sitting next to him after that bullshit. I literally work in a theater and this scenario is a pretty common occurrence. The sheer amount of people who cant comprehend how reserved seats/ assigned seating works is baffling
especially these days, even before covid....you selected/reserved your seats online and knew exactly what seat you'd be in, like a concert i was trying to think of anytime I've been an asshole like this, and the only time was when i yelled "fuck you" out my window at a homeless guy for jay-walking while i was trying to drive through a green light
The funny part is how he brings up the fact that "it's only one seat away" in his own retort argument. It's what people are telling him. Self awareness has hit an all time low.
It's not that they are not aware or confused, it's this man mind set that he is privileged to sit anywhere he feels fit despite the obvious seating order. That's the problem with these types. He went as far as demanding a free soda for his "inconvinience". That's how these folks are brought up and currently feel that this applies throughout their lifetime while a good half has to follow rules or be shot, arrested or fired if they acted this was. I know for a fact I'm not privilege what so ever and get annoyed at these kinds of outburst as it is childish and weak beta move. Privilege is everything to these idiots.
@WoioW oioW I get he was being dumb in his argument, but its honestly ridiculous youre going to force a specific rule when there are so many seats open and there isnt anyone in need of that seat. Maybe he got there and decided he liked the seat to the left more? The employee couldve saved himself so much trouble by letting him just chill where he was. Both sides couldnt concede and wasted everyones time in the pursuit of winning and its just pathetic for everyone involved
@@professionalhomeinvader6173 There's so many seats open because no one is there yet. Look at the background, nothing is playing on the screen. This is before even the advertisements.
@@professionalhomeinvader6173 You do realize people could still buy tickets for that movie and get that seat, hence the whole reason he should move, or are you just gonna ignore that?
It's the same as when you walk towards someone and you can clearly see they don't want to move 1 meter to the side for you so you in turn get angry that you have to move or risk running into them simply because they are too entitled and arrogant to move. It's such a small inconvenience but people will make a powergame out of anything because the smallest snippet of empowerement is the only thing that fills guys with pride nowadays.
Very well done on the part of the staff here. I've had to work in de-escalation a lot in my job, and the way that they were able to remain calmer than the person they're talking to and explain to him what he needed to do was legendary and a great example of how to deal with a situation like this. It's not rude or mean, but still firm and honest. He was being a disruption, and they were more than happy to let him watch the movie if he would cooperate, and when he wouldn't they made it clear that he wasn't going to be allowed to ruin the experience for everyone else. Also her trying to get him to leave the theater first and foremost before negotiating anything is the correct course of action for sure. If I were ever in a hostage situation I'd want these two running negotiations lmfao
As someone who works in a cinema, this happens constantly. People who come in just seem to get annoyed at the most trivial stuff and like to take it out on the staff. We have had so many members of staff in tears because of entitled customers feeling the need to shout at workers over something as trivial as not sitting in the right seat. It’s ridiculously common.
I get that there’s some asshole customers out there but I’ve never understood how a customer can bring someone to tears. Like they’re an asshole, why would u take anything they say to you seriously. It’s not like it’s someone who’s opinion you value like a family member or something.
You just get numb to it. Way too many people like this in the world. That and it's honestly easier because 9/10 they are just looking to rile someone up so not giving them the satisfaction makes it boring and not worth it.
I would be extremely tempted to threaten them with a gun, not out of malice or anything, just purely to see how they would react, I'd commend them if they didn't instantly pale at the sight and apologize while begging for their life lol

And I mean we were the ONLY people in the theater. It was great. It meant that my brother and I got to sit where ever we wanted and put our feet up on the seats in fronts of us consequence free. Best movie theater experience of my life. It felt like we rented it out for just the four of us.

@@theatricult that's a situation that I agree with your grandma on. But in other situations that the customer is clearly in the wrong I don't entirely get it

I love how it was too much of a bother for him to shift one seat to the left, but it wasn't too much of a bother to argue for ten minutes, then get up, grab his stuff, and leave the theater

Where I’m from you buy a ticket, walk into the theater room, and you pick your own spot.
For movies that have been out for a while there’s at most 10 people for 100 chairs
For a brand new, really popular movie on the first couple of days is about 50 people to 100 chairs. That’s as crowded as it gets.

you deserve no less than sainthood
The key is not to take it personally. Which can be quite difficult. Kudos to you!
Yeah... I work at a fast food place, and I've been working there for roughly 2 years. I've seen some "Karens" but i've also seen some decent customers. 1 Karen complained about "false advertising." Get this, we ran out of some sodas, so we temporarily switched to selling bottled sodas. Well, because of that, and we didn't post a sign or anything to let people know it's coming from a bottle, she goes nuts about it.
@@Brandon11746 At that point just go to the nearest gas station if you want a fountain drink, fr.
I like your philosophy
At Spiderman screening, a child told his mom to shut the fuck up, she left the movie crying and he chased after her apologizing
What the hell. Lmao
God this kinda sad but also really funny. My mom's the same way. "Who's that?" Mom this is literally everyone's first time seeing this movie ever, how am I supposed to know, just stfu and watch the damn movie
One day we all will realize that our parents are flawed people too
@@nickcunningham6344 SAME!!!
The idea of like a 6 year old swearing hard-F then driving their mom to tears and abandon their child, and then the child to feel bad for it instead of taking the opportunity to watch the film in peace is hilarious. Nobody is mature anymore.
"I still think I'm being the bigger person here"
He technically isn't wrong
2:07 “it doesn’t matter where you sit” then why is he so adamant about staying where he’s sitting? “this isn’t assigned seating” yes, it is, it’s whatever your ticket says
Haha, I had both of these thoughts exactly!when I heard him say that I thought Charlie would bring it up or the comments, but nah just you lmao
“I might want to be taken out and handcuffed” that poor woman. Old men are a different breed.

They're not. It's just that age isn't always parallel with intelligence.
Yeah they don't care what happens to them anymore

its alcohol, typical drunk behavior
And now we know about Charlie's great cigarette exchange. Another thing to add to his resume
you know that moment your in 5th grade and someone asks is you want some beer and you think it’s beer

I worked in a movie theater in high school, way before pre-selecting your seat was even a vague concept. Nothing like being a teenager trying to ask grown men (it was ALWAYS the men in the group who got pissy) to scoot over a seat or two to make room for others in a sold-out show. Yeah, no one likes to sit that close to strangers, but bugging out on a kid makes you an a-hole.
7:45 I legit thought he was wearing a prison jumpsuit LOL
