Really love this voice now. It seems much smoother and more natural now than in the early days.
This. Also the breathing of the narator seems more natural now.
It's getting steadily more Attenborough-y again though. Nobody tell his lawyers🤫
I want to hear Borat narrating 😅
@@lauriepenner350keep it secret, keep it safe!
It's a David Attenbough rip off and doesn't fit at all.
This is honestly one of the best lore channels not just for warhammer, but for a lore channel in general. It sucks so much that the strike screwed over the algorithm for you and I hope more people find this channel again.
Thanks, that's very kind of you to say. The strike was a pain but its been about 6 months now, and the channel is doing pretty well, so I won't be slowing things down any time soon.
@@Scholarslore so, are we getting a spongebob episode for aprils fools or something?
Yeah I sometimes follow lore channels based on the overall quality and presentation style. Doesn't necessarily have to be a setting I am familiar with, or even like for that matter. I still enjoy the videos and sometimes I will get interested in whatever settings they cover
It would be really fun to have a fps survival horror where a mortal kasrkin or cadian wakes up on a space hulk trying to escape before the hulk goes back to the warp.
Proc-gen levels and permadeath, lost of jump scares with orks or gene stealers, and maybe even heresy era traitor marines or men of iron.
Start with a big wrench or kreig shovel, and loot as you go. No visible timer, push your luck and be lost forever, or rush out of the hulk to ensure survival.
I love that idea! Permadeath and some form of procedural generation would really make it stressful which I'm all in for. Almost like a 40k/tarkov/dungeon crawler
This sounds sick
Would be sick, I think that space hulks are a sorely underutilised part of the setting, but they'd be an incredible backdrop for a game
bro gamesworkshop and games is hard... still wait for a dawn of war 1 remake type... I would say get monies, start company get game developers and get gamesworkshops greenlight/payoff rights etc etc. gg
@@Scholarslore Why there is a game Space hulk you play a termy and it feels scarry only yeah need 4 players aka 3 friends or its too hard and no fun
I lucked out once, and found a small space hulk. A boarding effort was made, and my crew and I retrieved a partial data slate from an ancient stc.
Once analyzed, it was found that it contained the complete blueprints for a slightly more efficient fork.
I was repaid for my efforts handsomely with the gift of a Mechanicus GF. The emperor smiles upon his faithful.
I can't decide whether a Mechanicus GF is good or bad! The pros and cons are pretty even.

An average Ork conversation:
"Y'all get lost in da intra-warpz agenn?"
"Yehhh. Came out alroit, doh. 'Ad us a nice li'l foit. Gotz us a new ship! Only cost 'aff our boyz, wot."
"Big ship?"
"BIIIIG ol' ship."
"S'not wunna dem spacey hulkz, izzit?"
"Don' fink so. Den again, da walls's been screamin', da air in da grub hall's kinda purple, kuppla da boyz fawt dey sawz a ghost, an' da mekboyz we sent back to da enjin room ain't come back fer a kuppla weekz."
"Might wanna look inta dat."
"Nahhh, it'll be foin. Long as it floyz, roit?"
If it gets da boyz to a waaagh, then its a zoggin' good ship!
Orks don’t even speak English or this broken English to each other so writers might as well just write it proper making it so much better to read and let readers imagine their tones, like…most other writing of aliens speaking.
@@WadeSmith1001 nope it's as orky as it gets
A space hulk is a awesome dungeon for any space RPG.
Low key, this stuff is so easy to let play in the background.
scholars lore is the most dedicated fan made channel ever , or any universe
I’d say baldy is definitely one of if not *the* greatest fan channels. Man literally writes whole fan fictions. Not trying to diss this channel at all, baldermort is just category of his own
That honor goes to Baldemort. This is a great channel but it's not even close.
Not THE, but definitely one of the best. Yet, the AI voice is superb
@@ChibiViolinLuetin.
Thank you but it's far from being me. There are many other channels that have devoted themselves to their craft, and I can only hope that in a few years I'll have a catalogue of content as broad, and extensive as their own. As a few people said, Baldemort is certainly up there in terms of quality, and dedication, he's a real legend in the space
So it was like this.. Attenborough lore, Attenborough voice, voice improve, copy right strike, scholars law, John Hurt and Sir David have a child, over next few weeks voice goes back to routes
if you really want ''attenborough does warhammer'', you should try out ''imperial iterator'', you won't be disappointed :)

I'm so glad to have the narrator bid us welcome once again. It feels much better that way.
Your work with the AI narrator is truly amazing
Ah good good, glad it works! I'm trying out some new intro/outro styles after some feedback. Seems to be good for gradually bringing people in/out of the topics
Love to listen to those amazing sermons, especially when lying in bed, in dark room - just before heading to dreamland.
Amazing work getting them ready and I appreciate both you work and them very much.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Picture a warhammer miniature infront of your house with endless levels and floors lol
That's a very good way of describing it.
It's like a regular hulk, but in space.
Glad I could clear that up for you.
Really like how I can fully immerse in the universe as a noble being educated by a custodes. And then go over to lutin and get a deep dive into the lore.
Yeah the voice is getting emotional tone and everything now. Scripting is good too. Like every machine intelligence, good in, good out.
No custodes is ever gonna educate anyone lmao, they don't have time for that shit
@@emildegas4213they have too much time
@@6969scoots That's the point, that story about the guy who stood guard for 100 years, wasn't there as atrezzo, every single second of a custodes is really important, even if it means standing still for a century,
@emildegas4213 makes sense, always felt like a waste you know. It's like sending seal team 6 to guard a mall in a small town
if you ever saw a custode you would probably be dead much less taught a lesson by Valdor @@emildegas4213
I love these videos, proper “lofi warhammer lore to work/study to”
Haha, that's a good comparison!
I don't understand why the Imperium doesn't have vast breaker yards especially for these. Granted you would need to have an astartes chapter and a few penal legions on hand to step in when the serfs can't work due to 'inclement xenos' situations, but each wrecked Hulk is one less to worry about
Because infrastructure like that would need to be situated somewhere, it can't just move around. And with space hulks, you never know. They are highly unstable, usually, and might pop back into the warp at any moment as far as you know, kill everyone, and pop out at another place in the galaxy... or another time. Some might float in the material world for who knows how long, completely stable.
Sending an expedition to one, sure, could very well be worth it. But it isn't really possible to create scrapyards for them. Imagine having a ghost ship here on Earth, it floats on the ocean, filled with god knows what (and with who), with a set of computers and code (maybe even an AI) that you have no idea what it is going to do at what point, and which can turn into a submarine at any point, just to emerge 500 meters, of 5000 kilometers away, 5 minutes of 500 years later.
Now just replace that ocean with the warp dimension filled with demons, and whom ever is on that hulk definitely not being friendly, and quite possibly numbering millions... and you start to get the fraction of a horror that a space hulk actually is :)
The space hulks safe enough to salvage are rarely seen in the galaxy so it makes no sense to invest in infrastructures for them.
The imperium will Salvage those they can. But yeah they are dangerous, warp tainted, sometimes able to move on their own, enter and exit the warp on their own, and rarely are in a good position fir the mechanics to do much Salvage work.
Star trek and alien: there is oxygen. No need for protective gear. 40k: yeah there is oxygen but still a lot that can kill us.
6:37 If the warp really covers ALL of reality, then there are ships from entire other galactic clusters
True, although all the warpy lore I've read seems to only refer to the emotional forces from our own galaxy. Whilst I'm certain a "real" warp would have influences from other galaxies, GW seems to avoid broaching on the topic of extragalactic forces. But I would also quite like to imagine ships from the other side of the universe being able to slip into our own galaxy via some funky warp travel shenanigans
With most channels, I see the notification pop up and add it to watch later.
With some, I will add them to an appropriate playlist, organised by theme/topic. With this channel I almost always click when I see this one
Me, with this and the original Primitive Technology channel. And StyroPyro lol. Always good to know he's still alive XD

@@Sphendrana thanks 👇you're awesome👇
@@Sphendrana whoa this channel is awesome. I watch this one channel where they sometimes make stuff using 1700s accurate blacksmithing equipment. This channel will be neat to watch and compare with the 1700s one. I bet there will be more than a few things in common
@@ThommyofThenn you'll always know it's they original channel via the campfire pfp and water mark!

Literally just started playing Space Hulk: Deathwing when this popped up.

@@Scholarslore Listening to this while playing Deathwing WITH the DA Assault Box on my desk; priceless moment.
nice! Used to play SH and SH Deathwing almost 30 years ago. Got me into painting miniatures in a big way for many years. Just clicked on this vid for a bit of a nostalgia kick. Enjoy the games!
@@bhedgepig9653 I'm loving it so far, especially after getting it to work on steam deck, which is playable without any problems contrary to what steam says. I got into the hobby back in '14 with the Dark Vengeance box, so everything involving Dark Angels all at once was all sorts of nostalgic.
ooh, didnt even know you could play it on PC. Whelp @@alexstan414 Thanks for finding my next time sink! i guess😅 Although I really miss painting the models that should still scratch a few good itches.
I could see a space hulk becoming a bustling refugee community, similar to in Titan A.E, where instead of the shups loosely amalgamated together, they're in fact, welded and joined together permenantly into a "drifting colony," with entire generations being born, living their lives, and dying in the void between the stars.
This channel of yours is doing the Emperor's good work. I've been following it since its early days with David A.'s voice. Good stuff, friend!
A lot of warhammer youtubers talk about space hulks but they never do a deep dive into one i realy like learning about space hulks and technology before AI tried to take over
Love this video. Definitely follow up about more space hulks.
Man, I think the copyright strike only made this channel stronger and better!
We need a cross between hardspace shipbreaker, Marauders, and space hulk
Pick a faction, crew a salvage ship
Fly to the space hulk, fighting off other ships and defenses
Land, start salvaging the hulk for scrap, stcs, soulstones, or other valuables while defending from the others, then extract
This, but in Star Citizen when salvage "gets better" XD

This was great! Well done and much longer than usual!
Thank you! I was actually worried that this would be a weirdly short video. Even though I really like the space hulks as a concept, I was slightly concerned that I wouldn't be able to get a few of the points of lore across, but thankfully (like with most scripts), as soon as I started then everything flowed out nicely.
@@Scholarslore I really enjoyed it. Keep up the awesome work!

very interesting lore there .. great video
Cheers!
This was absolutely FABULOUS.
Great was hoping something about spacehulks someday 😊
Truly one of the best 40k channels out there.
Thank you so much
Thank you very much for doing this one! Despite the fact that a lot of this IP is the game, of throwing together an army of a faction, to them throw at an enemy Commander, or the hobby of collecting, kit-bashing, and painting the models, I'm predominantly a lore fan, and even more than Space Marines, the Guard, or the Eldar, my favorite are the Rogue Traders, and plying the space ways on currents of pure ambition. I like the ships, and the people involved with them, so while a Space Hulk is an unmitigated terror, hearing about them was great!
Thank you! I want to do a few long videos on the rogue traders, and imperial navy at some point, so hopefully those will be enjoyable as well!
Another great video as always 💪, only way I can get to sleep lately is by listening to this channel.
You should totally do a video covering dreadnoughts! Or virus bombs. Doing some videos on the siege of terra would be glorious as well!
Thank you! Glad they're soothing. Yeah a dred would be good, virus bombs I might only cover as a larger part of an exterminatus video though, the bombs themselves might not be a large enough topic to go over for half an hour (although there are lots of non-exterminatus applications of them too, so maybe). The siege of terra will have to get its own long special vid, probably as a multi-part series, it's just too long of a topic to condense!
How about a video on Exterminatus like the Life Eater Virus and Cyclonic Torpedos, the Ordinatus Engines, and other weapons of mass destruction in 40/30K?
Very well presented.
imagine space hulks in warhammer 80k as planets
I mean it's not such a farfetched idea! Based on how they appear, and grow in the lore, it would make sense for them to only grow larger and larger until they were planet sized
You have cybertron

Great narration.
I very much appreciate the soft and subtle soundtrack that is the accompaniment. Ambient musicians should take note( amazing, how did they do it without rain sounds?!?!?!?!)
