How to Reink Distress Oxide Ink Pad (Super Easy!)

- This video will show you how to reink your distress oxide ink pads. The same general process is done for most ink pads. Be sure to shake your Distress Oxide reinker bottle well to mix up the pigment ink with the dye ink, which helps make up the special oxide properties.

Jayma! Thank you for this tutorial! Seeing how juicy your ink pad got makes me realize how thirsty mine are. I have never thought to use an old gift card or anything to push the ink into the pad. That’s a useful tip I’ll be taking with me. :-)
I am so glad you found this helpful! When I was searching how to re-ink mine there weren’t many videos and you had to watch thru other ink pads on Ranger’s video so I decided to make one that hopefully helps many people!
Thank you for realizing there was a need and filling it! This is kind of what I did before but I didn't use a card to help it get in there so I'll try that this time. I have a feeling most of mine were dry so I'll be excited to see how easy they are to blend after they're juicy.

Thanks for watching from Germany! Tim Holtz has said before that it doesn’t matter which direction you store the pads. I store mine in the distress tins so they’re on their side.
Hi there, I was just wondering if you know how many portions of ink are in the reinkers, if that makes sense?
Like, if I get one, how many times will it refill the inkpad? A couple of my distress oxides are running out of ink so I'm thinking of getting the reinkers, but I can't seem to find much information on how far the ink goes.
It says 15mls but I don't know how many mls are needed to fill the pad..?

I have no idea but reinking took very little of the overall amount in the bottle. You’d prob get dozens of re-inks. There are so many other techniques you can use the reinkers for, too!
Hello again 😌 Thankyou so much for replying (and super quickly as well! That's really kind of you) Ok so you reckon there's a lot of refills in each bottle, that's good to know. I'm kinda new to printing - well, new enough that this is the first time I've needed to refresh my ink pads, ha..! My fave colours are basically dry now.
I've only just found out about the reinkers so I'll have to look up some of those other techniques. Anything in particular you'd recommend? I have a gel plate so I'm guessing I can use them straight onto that too.
