One of the best auto to manual videos I’ve seen. Definitely deserves more love. Awesome job! Looking at getting a jzx soon and auto might be a must depending on the price difference
Of course man! I’m super looking forward to the timing belt vid since I’ve only ever done one and it was on my crusty ass Volvo with the old Haynes repair book right in front of me 😂
Definitely earned my like. I was sad when I saw it only had 15 likes but then I saw it was posted 1 day ago lol. Looking at getting a cresta, I think this is my sign
love the content man, i was just wondering if there's any benefit to doing this over an r154? judging by the cost breakdown and the price of an r154 these days it honestly looks like using the toyota route would be cheaper
Correct, I was only able to easily justify this since I got virtually everything at a good discount around Black Friday. But r154 is good too. The JK41B is a stronger transmission out of the box and parts are here in America. From what I've heard, you want to avoid earlier CD09s due to grinding issues. I personally love the feel of my setup over a stock r154
Hi Kenny, great video! Did you do anything about the descrepency between the x90 and 350z diff ratios? I have just put a cd009 in my x90 and first gear is pretty useless, and at 60kph i find I am in 5th already. anyway great work on a very informative video.
Thanks for the support man 🤘 I'm currently still rocking the stock 3.9 auto diff but i recently bought the 3.7 manual diff from an is300 that I'll be installing soon
Hey bro i changed from 1G to 1jzge-non vvti to a w58, could u tell me again the part abt the wiring in depth or send me to a link, cause im not sure which wires connect to the gearbox
I had a question unless i didnt hear an explanation in the video, but why did you cut the transmission in half again? Would love to know before attempting this
It's for fitting this specific adaptor. An alternative would be running a Collin's adaptor which doesn't require cutting but would push the transmission further back, making fitment and shifter relocation a pain to do
Good question. Its not just a cd09 thing. There's a few conflicting reports. Most say its not necessary unless you have stalling issues. One other person reported youll have a higher rev limit if you bridge 2nd. I'll test out this info soon and get back to you.
do you still have your automatic shifter assembly (0:59)? Mine is kinda ratty so I was hoping to swap it but I can't for the life of me find one anywhere nor can I find the part number on amayama. Anyway if you still have it I will buy yours!
I think I have a guy who is going to give me one that is a different style from his x100 but if it doesn't fit, I will be hitting you up! No insta but might have to create one 😅

That means a lot! Thank you!
Even with a factory manual car I still had to watch 🖤 thank you for doing these for the community!
You got it my man 👊 thanks for always supporting me bro

Thank you! Crestas are awesome. My favorite rear end of the 3. Just be ready for the amount of daily attention you'll get from owning a jzx
Very good men

Was wondering how much of this applies to a jzx100?
It's pretty much the same between the two chassis
@@JZXKenny What about GX100?
Anyone have an issue where there abs light is stuck on with no speedo?
You’re the best mate 🫡 thank you

What was your measurements on that driveshaft???
Great video, isn’t there something you have to the auto ecu ?
Nope! No need to touch ECU 🤘
@@JZXKenny is that just a cd09 thing ? I always hear people on the FB groups saying you need to pin 2nd gear or something on the ecu for r154 🤷🏼♂️

@@JZXKenny thank you
@@JZXKennyany news?
Did you get any engine lights from the ECU being for an auto? Or did you already swap the ECU?
I was on stock auto ECU at the time and no engine lights ever came on 👍 also drifted the car several times banging limiter and all is well
would'nt it have been easier to just get the conversion straight from japan??
Hey bro, your Jzx90 is 1jz-GE or GTE? Does it fit to a NA motor?
Mines GTE and I believe it will fit GE, I'm not 100% sure though
do you still have your automatic shifter assembly (0:59)? Mine is kinda ratty so I was hoping to swap it but I can't for the life of me find one anywhere nor can I find the part number on amayama. Anyway if you still have it I will buy yours!
I believe I do. Add my instragram at jzx_kenny and I'll try to find it and send it to you
I think I have a guy who is going to give me one that is a different style from his x100 but if it doesn't fit, I will be hitting you up! No insta but might have to create one 😅
Will Speedometer and odometer work at these configuration?
Speedometer and odometer will have to be calibrated using a converter box. I have a video that covers that
oh god, what does prevent you not to install a holy JZX90 R154 manual transmission?
New JZX100 R154s are great but for not much more money you can get a transmission as strong as a V160
How is the NVH?
Same as before. Nvh shouldn't be affected as long as you properly seal off the shifter area
