Your fix for the stalling at the end of the video was a godsend!! I manual converted my 1J Soarer a while back and sold it to a mate with the stalling issue, just tried the fix now and it worked! Thanks so much man!
No worries man! It's a weird thing that fixes it but it does the job hahaha
Awesome vid mate.
Was waiting for the blanking out of the PRNDL on the cluster.
That woulda been the icing on the cake!
Thumbs up!
I never ended up doing that haha, but there's a guy that did a video on how to do that not long ago
Beautiful work man keep up the good work!!!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
That trick with the spanner blew my mind m8
I can blow your mind anytime 😉
Awesome work man
Cheers man!
Keep the awesome content coming man and was pretty good for your first video
Thanks so much man! It means a lot!
Nice work mate 👍
Cheers mate!
How much did the swap cost roughly?
@@jasonmartin. I got the whole conversion kit for $5k it came with a clutch but i bought a new one for about $500, then i had to get the new slave and master which was $150 and the new gearbox mount was $250
Little more detail on that bridge wiring what color you still remember?
Perfect video mate since only video's about this are in Japanese. Where did you get your manual conversion from if I may ask?
Hahaha thanks mate! I got mine from the the guy i mported the car off in adelaide
Hey bro, I've watched this at least 20 times in full lol. Had a question.. when removing the automatic transmission cooling lines, did you have to cap it off from the radiator? Or essentially, where did those lines run to and did you need to cap anything off?
You can cap them off at the radiator but I ended up replacing my radiator so i didn’t do it. Sorry but I was having troubles with my phone when removing the cooler lines, but they’re super easy to take out you just follow them along and remove all the P clamps and when removing the cooler lines you just cut off the bits that get stuck and throw the cooler lines in the bin
Hey man , cool video. This video has helped me but I just want to know, How have to wired up the reverse sensor and the speedometer. I’m about to start my wiring and wondering what you used to wire it up mate?😎
No worries man that’s awesome to hear! For the reverse switch I used the red wire with blue trace and red wire with black trace on the auto trans main plug and connected the reverse switch to those and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter which way it is wired but check when you do. For the speedometer I didn’t wire it as the wheel speed sensors are still able to run the speedometer
@@jimmysworks8105 top man mate, appreciate that dude 😎
@@craigfarquhar5764 Anytime man! 🤟
hey coo video please help me my jzx100 is a manual conversion i get road noise through the modified tunnel have u fixed this at all? thanks
Thanks man! I used a fibreglass tunnel piece and sealed it with sikaflex and had no issues
This is an old video so you might not answer but did you ever get a metal grinding type sound with the clutch pushed in? I seen it on a couple cars and heard this is a common issue for r154 swap on 1jz. I ask because it’s doing it on a car I’m looking at buying
It sounds like it’s either got a twin plate clutch in it which is normal or either the spigot bearing, thrust bearing or input shaft bearing on the trans is damaged.
Hay man, nice video.
So on the idle issue, was it also reducing idle if you turned on the headlights?
Thanks man! That seems to just sound like your alternator loading up which is normal for HID headlight cars, how much idle is it dropping by
@@jimmysworks8105 drops enough to act the same way yours was while you had issues
@@elielvaska I'd say you'd have another issue, probably a good idea to check that your alternator is charging properly and that your battery is good
Have you ever try ucf21 air shock on Jzx100 . Just wana know
Nah i haven't heard about them, i just run coilovers
Swapping my auto to a manual soon what wires did you connect together for reverse lights?
I think I wired the reverse switch on the box to the red/blue and red/black wires on the auto plug if I can remember, if you really want to check it before you pull the auto out you can put ignition on and put it in reverse and use a test light on those wires
hey bro, wouldyou mind listing everything that is required? just want to make sure i have it all.
Cheers!
Hey man!
You'd need a clutch master, clutch slave, clutch (whatever you fancy), clutch hose, can either get a brake pedal if you can find one if not cut down your existing one, will have to get a tailshaft (if not can get the front shaft modified by a driveshaft shop) a manual surround if not modify the auto one, also need to cut the tunnel and put in place a manual tunnel piece by SJM fibreglass, also just the neutral switch needs to be bridged
Hey mate want to buy a manual conversion too. How much did you get yours for just wanting to know so i dont over spend when buying second hand cheers
All good mate, i got mine in a whole conversion kit for $5k
Jimmy's Works sweet man how long did it take you to get it all in
@@frsr416 It took me a weekend to get it all and about another day or so to do all the finishing touches
Bmwoss
How did u do the hand brake was it very hard? The only scary part for me
You don't have to touch the handbrake, unless you're talking about getting the centre console over the handbrake?
@@jimmysworks8105 my mark ii is factory foot brake
@@jinjon8953 Ahhhh i dont know how the foot park brake models work
whatd you do for your speed? just left it and it ran off asb sensors or did you rewire stock speed sensor?
Just left it and ran it off the ABS sensors
@@jimmysworks8105 and what about your reverse switch?
I wired the 2 wires from the switch on the manual to the reverse wires on the auto loom
Did u adjust both bolts for idle or just one
I only adjusted the one
Hey man, did you use an r154 out of a supra? I read somewhere that it wouldn't work or something if you used a supra r154 but I'm not sure if that's true
I got my whole conversion out of a JZX100, im not too sure about the supra one i think they're a different rear housing on the box or a they have a different point where the shifter goes through the tunnel
@@jimmysworks8105 okay sick thanks man. I'm in the States and finding full kits here is pretty difficult. Just gotta keep saving and things will popup though
I hope the best for you man, i was pretty lucky to find a full kit as JZX's are pretty popular over here in Australia
@@shakotanstyle7409 The JZA70 R154 will not work because the shifter housing is not long enough for the JZX90/100. You would either need to extend it out or seek out a R154 with a remote/tripod shifter which is either a JZX90/100, a 94+ JZZ30 Soarer, or a JZX110 Mark II/Verossa.
You make changeAT to MT ECU? Or still AT ECU?
It’s still AT ecu just need to connect the neutral switch wires
@@jimmysworks8105 for what?
hey bud, im looking to buy a jzx100 and the auto ones are alot cheaper then the factory manual.Would it be cheaper to manual swap then buy a factory manual
It depends how cheap you can get an auto one because a manual swap is about 5 to 6k for all parts and everything. Also manual ones are getting a bit harder to find but if you can find one that's the same price as swapping a manual one get the manual one
@@jimmysworks8105 I'm looking for one with lowish kms and a sun roof, all the manual ones like that are around 18k + seen a couple of auto ones go for 7k-10k so might just do that but I'm from nz and I will need to get cert for the swap
Yeah a sunroof would be ideal, manual or sunroof models are expensive over here in Aus, NZ would be a lot cheaper which im jealous of haha
@@jimmysworks8105 that's at auction tho so you got like 5k to go on top to get it over here and all legal
Oh yeah fair enough! So it ends up being roughly the same as Aus for prices once legal
Very cool bro! Hi from Russia))
Thanks bro!!
When u gonna come do mine now for free tho😉
The pain i went through with this one i don't think i can do it for free 😂
Jimmy's Works I’ll pay you in beers even better
That sounds like a perfect trade off haha
Jimmy's Works yeah it is 😂
