It almost looks like a Navajo Taco, which I have had numerous times in Arizona. When we've stayed at the Grand Canyon, we've driven into the Navajo reservation to Cameron. There is a restaurant there that serves them. Sooooooo good!

Fun fact, there's actually a mansion behind the Uhaul there, can only access it through back of Uhaul. I lived next door to Gloria & John for years and my dad ate there weekly since the 60s. A good hard working family business.

Oh man! Puffy Taco! We lived in the South Whittier area for about ten years, and we ate there on a pretty regular basis. Their tacos are absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, great service befitting a Mom and Pop business. Their other food items are delicious too. Try the Crispy Dog!

Mmmm, those look awesome!!! My Mom lived in San LeAndro for 14 years, and used to make Tacos like that. She fried the flour tortillas in either shortening of vegetable oil on each side. Either she would fry them round and flip them when they got golden brown for an open faced Taco like a Tostada, or she would fold them in half and do the same for Tacos.
My wife makes these kind of tacos for me all the time at home. It's just the flour tortilla that used instead of corn that makes them puffy which you no doubt have figured out by now. They're delicious. I loved the Naugles visit. Makes me ready for one of their beef burritos. MMMMM!
The owner of Puffy's is a beautiful refined lady. Head up to ELA to the famous El Tepeyac on Evergreen Avenue. Famous for large wet burrito's, but I love their deep fried tacos (Tacos Dorado's V shaped), loaded with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Order at patio window and take a seat outside. It's safe there.
Those tacos look so delicious! The first "taco salad bowl" I ever ate was at Chi-Chi's Restaurant back in my high school days. It was awesome! So was Chi Chi's signature "Mexican Fried Ice Cream" dessert! Thanks for another great video, Adam!
I could’ve typed this! Exactly what I would get at Chi’s Chi’s back in the day. We would also get a virgin strawberry margarita because we were trying to be so cool, but they were delicious. 😃
Santa Gertrudes is pronounced like Gertrude-ace. :) Because in spanish the 'e' is like 'ay' and it is pronounced. Looks totally yummy. So Cal has some of the best authentic Mexican food i have ever had. I had to learn to make my own when i left Cali. I totally make my own tortillas and everything.

That’s how my mom and dad made them back in the sixties. To this day I make them the same way. They are absolutely delicious.

Here we call those Navajo Tacos since they're made with fry bread instead of corn shells. If you're ever in Albuquerque again check them out.

I used to work for an Indian tribe in Oklahoma and they made tacos that were exactly like these; they were always referred to as Indian tacos.
