This is just a parody of someone not rolling on their loot/lot. Nobody was harmed in the making of this video and the timer was helped by a friend who joined a trial and just timed it out. Again, this is a parody, take it with a grain of salt and just enjoy Sam Hyde losing it in his skit.

Had someone like this on Void Ark for both the coffin lid and the minion. After about five minutes of just emoting at each other I just /playdead and went and made a sandwich, came back and he was gone.

@@elgatochurro People roll on gear. Kind of like dice. Highest number get the gear. But if people leave the party before everyone rolled - it goes to the last person in the group.
Thankfully it has a timer that forces them to roll or auto pass. So we don't have to wait all day for those clowns.😬

I was once in a P2 (normal) fight and then after the god awful fight, we all just talked about the fight. How we almost all died, me (the tank) spending all my cooldowns on the healer (Oblation and Blackest Night) and then using Living Dead to survive. But I completely forgot to roll for loot. Someone asks "Dude, roll for loot" and then I was like "Yes, please roll loot whoever it is" then came "Dude, its you!"
I have never felt so bad in my life (that's a lie, I felt worse).
That's when you hit 'em with the "...I know, I was just testing you."
The second hand embarrassment I feel from reading this causes me physical pain. Surely not because I've totally been there and can relate, nope.
Omg I did something very similar. I thought I rolled on everything I wanted but forgot to pass on something. And my dumbass in chat was still like "pls roll on loot" not realizing I was the non-rolling griefer all along smh

Usually typing this in chat for me gets people to finally roll on their loot.
This has actually become a thing on Materia in cruddy alliance raids now. I roll, then go for a ciggie. Wait them out without even being at keyb, got all day champs 😎

I never thought I'd see a sam hyde FF14 meme but here it is
I play with some friends, but not enough for a full party. When it comes to dungeons where we have one rando or any 8-man activity where most of us are in the party and then there's the one rando still standing there after the other randos left... I will grant them the time they may need to go use the restroom, check on something real quick, etc... but after 2min have passed and my friends and I are still waiting for loot to roll, I'll put in chat, "We're in voice chat together, we have all rolled so we know it's you." and then magically, the loot is rolled and we get out of there. None of my friends are willing to go that far and put such in chat, but I'm like, "Nah, we don't have many evenings to game together, so we gotta make the most with our time."
You know sometimes people don't roll because they thought they rolled but accidentally cancelled out. No need to assume something malicious happened

I just leave and go do something else. Small exercise, grab a drink, something to eat or a toilet break. Can't waste my time if I'm doing something.
The fact that the looter's job is Nin makes this even better for me. But thank you for posting my entire inner mental monologue when I'm just staring at the MFer I know didn't roll.

Man when people do this I just use the time to get up and strech, grab a drink, bathroom if needed, grab a snak or take out a plate from dinner to the sink. If anything I should thank them for giving me a moment from the game to tend to a few quick things.
The timer isn't that long, I often forget it mid dungeon
I remember once during one of the neir raids I rolled a 99 on either the hair or the minion and just before the boss died it started to thunder really bad so I was so worried when someone didn't roll. I would have been so mad if my power went out before the roll finished and I lost it because if that.
As soon as I said so in chat everyone rolled. Luckily my power didn't go out at all and I got my loot.

I’ll usually just roll and then go take a 5 minute break. Take a piss, get something to drink, watch UA-cam. I’m not the one that has to keep track of the timer, I’ve already rolled. If anything they are doing me a favor by weeding out the really impatient people.

I always roll unless it’s late and I accidentally blank out and forget but! If I have high numbers I’ll wait but if I have impossible low numbers I’ll duck out

fun fact i did this 2 times cuz i didnt know what they meant as a sprout. So the ppl who it upsetted it was not intentional. Now i did do an intentional 1 one single time cuz dude was spazzing on ppl callign them absurd names and raging really bad so i decided to not roll. Only time i ever did it intentionally.
I swear to God was converted to "I swear to Hydaelyn" lol.

sometimes when a person is a total butt, I'll do this just out of pettiness against them to make them more mad til they either rage or leave.

I just enter loot goblin mode when I clear normal duties. I need seals for the PotD mount so I NEVER have to set foot in that hellhole again. I pass the damaged orchestrions for people who need them but roll for normals to MB or vendor for the 150 gil.

The reason why a lot of people do this is because they wait until everybody has rolled so others can take up the low rolls before you, because in FF you cant roll the same roll as somebody else
When people do this I sit right at the exit gate and stare at the treasure box.

sometimes the party moves too fast for me to roll as soon as new loot is added so usually I wait to roll until the end of the dungeon

For some reason, I did not realize that it will run down the timer if you don't roll, I've been not rolling on the things that I don't care about this whole time. I feel so stupid 😭
Eh, it's a developer problem anyway. The timer is as long as it is because that's what they decided. People should really direct the salt that way, getting riled up just pleases actual griefers.
That's why I don't usually play unless I have at least 8hrs to spare. If they're gonna stall...I got time.
Okay to be fair, I hate running raids on repeat so I try and see if anyone will leave before rolling on the specific piece of abyssos gear I need, I’ll pass on everything except the one I need and then it’s the waiting game. I test the limits of people, if I can get it down to 2-3 ppl left in the raid, then I roll in hopes I get it, it sometimes works out :p

Weirdly enough, I happen to be the guy that passes on the loot, usually because I don't really need it at the time, I roll for it when I notice I'm struggling with taking the occasional hit or dealing poor damage, but if not I just assume my party members need it more than me and let them have it.
"Hey guys new player, please don't greed loot I can use. Thank you!"

I greed everything as soon as it appears. I have two tanks at 90 and have never played a DPS, but I still have lots of very fashionable DPS gear.

I feel like the simple solution to this problem is to let people leave dungeons without losing their rolls. It can't be that hard to remember a list of players who rolled for an item.
Considering the spaghetti code that XIV is built on, I imagine somehow that would completely break dungeons. Somehow. rofl

Definitely don't use a roll checker addon and don't use said addon that you don't have to call out the person who isnt rolling by pretending you read the chat logs

Opening all damn treasure chest not rolling on a single one. Have about 10 items and person dc and doesn’t come back and we can’t kick them! Or they do nothing and we still can’t kick. T^T
I once forgot to roll on loot, and couldn't see the screams of my party because I'd immediately gone into Gpose. Oops.
I think yhis happened once to me when I was doing an alliance raid...actually it was the recent new alliance raid I think.
I just waited for the timer doing emotes
It happens to everyone here and there...sometimes people are definitely not trying to sabotage the roll and may be in a cutscene for a minute after the kill. It is still frustrating when the timer runs that low...but yeah, best thing is to just get up after a minute to stretch/coffee/fold laundry!!

When people don't roll, I look through the chat log and point out who didn't roll and then tell everyone else to report that person for griefing.
Sometimes i just pass on loot to give other players the credit they deserve if they bothered to wait at the exit to really get the 1 item that they really want :D
You can also use the loot roll to avoid being dismissed by control freaks.
Always leave the most recent item unrolled in case the tank decides to go WeirdChamp

I look in the list for the person that didnt roll and report then for taking the rest of the party as hostages

I know that need is gear that my equipped job can wear and that greed is for gear in every job Im not currently equipped with. But that's all I know. Also of course pass is saying you don't want it.
@@AntiNihilist hello there! Need whenever you can, majority of players wont care, or at least wont say anything. Greed is always available for everyone else as well regardless of the current job. Need will always overturn a greed roll, meaning a person who clicks need and rolls a 6, will beat someone that rolled greed that rolled a 78. Multiple people may be able to Need though. For example, A black Mage and Summoner share similar gear and can BOTH roll on the same chest piece/boots/ring. The higher need roller wins and everyone that greeded are "ignored".
The only time needing becomes more specific is in a raid group of people you are specifically playing with called a static. They MAY determine who gets gear first and let one person need on stuff to get them geared out. Or if someone asks as well...some people want that glamour! But you don't have to oblige, it would just be courtesy if you passed
Is it a bad thing to not roll? Everything goes so fast in instances I just take a quick glance and claim the stuff that gives me better stats, I can't afford to waste too much time since I'm supposed to tank.
This is generally for raids. When the raid has finished, there are people who don’t roll until the last second specifically so other people will just get impatient and leave and they themselves will have a better chance at getting what they want.
Noone cares in normal instances, its totally different in Raids tho. The loot is very valuable and isnt just armor. People not rolling on it on the end of the duty is just rude and bad behavior.
just click pass on the stuff you don't want, then leave if you get or failed to get your loot
