Soundtrack is so dope for this game.
Ah, the only Genesis game that boots you immediately into the game with no title screen or instructions.
Yep, and X-
Men 1 was the only Genesis game you had to reset.
@@JP47471 Ah, the cryptic bullshit, as stated by AVGN.
What was the point of that “pre level”?
To get you used to the platform aspect of the game. @@oldirish6163
@@oldirish6163 The point of the pre level is to provide instant gratification, giving the player a taste of what is to come. This is also called a "Cold Opening" and is used in movies and tv shows. It's a way to hook the viewer. In this case, the cold opening, which literally takes place in snowy terrain, jumps straight into the action.
This game was so challenging then, I even thought my brothers and I almost got to the end, considering how challenging it was. Did not know we were not even close.
I remember loving the explosion sound effects in this game. Somehow very satisfying
Major facts
same. Came here for the sounds and music. All of the sudden thought i had a controller in hand.
The graphics for this game were amazing.
I thought the same about the Vector Man games
@@superstatus2640Only thing better than Vectorman's graphics was the music.
Damn I missed out
They were as good as the first one, but they're decent.
@@DontrelleRoosevelt You're saying the first X Men for Sega had better graphics?
That thumbnail Psylocke art is *chef's kiss*
She has some great sprites in this game...😍
Its done by a great artist that needs be credited, Robert Porter, aka ROBAATO.
@@TheKreAt0r time to visit the "sites" for more research
It's very jiggly-looking indeed.
Another tool who uses the term "chef's kiss" incorrectly.
These noises in this game bring back SO MANY awesome memories. Thank you!
I gotta come back and play this again after watching X-Men '97
October 1995 my dad randomly comes home and hands me NHL 96 and X Men2 and I played the shit out of both games, I love the music I'm this X Men game it's underrated to me.
There's an infinite health code or this game. Pause it and he following. Up + B, Up, Right, down, up, right down, down, up, B, and then unpause. Then you pause again and hit Up+B. I you do it right a sound will play. It;s been 30 years and I still remember that code.
I still remember the code from MK2. Go to the options menu and press: Left, Down,Left, Right, Down, Right, Left, Left, Right Right. It's been about 30 years for me as well.
This is one of the best looking side scrolling Marvel games of the entire 90s. It's gorgeous.
facts! I still have this game but never beat it lol
@@SuperExtrovertAre you serious?! Beating this game was easier than the first one. At least I felt so.
This went from what I thought was going to be a no damage playthrough to the final battle with clone beast and you're on your last pip of health! That was intense!
Awesome playthrough. Brings back a lot of memories. Always loved how they made Psylocke look like a fashion model with a katana. Both of the SEGA X-Men games really captured the spirit of 90's action gaming.
omfg i forgot about this game. played it, and so many other great sega games growing up lol. eternal champions, vector man, shining force 1-2, - not to mention sonic - and sword of vermillion and so many others. thank the internet gods we have emulators.
Side scrolling 90s marvel games were such a vibe
This was THE game:perfect gameplay, awesome soundtrack, amazing graphics, gripping plot, challenging and versatile characters. There’s no other game like this.
Psylocke's standing pose is strong af
Hey, cool to see someone else sharing the love for this game!
this looks so damn hard. I never went past the 2nd stage.
@@JPeoplzOIII me 2 great game
This game was so fire back when I was a kid
If you actually had this as a kid you're probably too old to be saying "fire". Cap rizz
@@raphaelturtle4146 Douchebag comment
@@raphaelturtle4146mfer I’m 31 and say fire. I played this growing up
Always loved the slightly different soundtracks to each character
when first playing this, it really annoyed me how it plopped you into the level with a random character,
then eventually once I figure it out, I thought it was a great way to start, giving the game a sort of cold opening.
After loving the 1st X-Men game, this is one of those games I wanted but couldn't afford.
I had this on sega genesis when I was a kid! God the nostalgia...
I owned this on sega one of my faves and the soundtrack is top tier
heavenly thumbnail
You can thank Robaato for that art
I loved this game!! This takes me way back to the good ol days.
I got this game for Christmas back in 1995😅
This game absolutely rocked. I played it over and over with all characters.
Joguei muito no meu Mega Drive 😊. Muito bom esse jogo.
I remember that it flippin' scared the shit outta me when I saw Cortez crashing through the window.
Fun fact: this is one of the few games where you can play as magneto. Hes kinda slow and clunky but i loved that you could run him if you want.
the music in this game really made me think of Shadowrun from the Sega of this time as well. damn
No bonus Phalanx-Magneto fight? For shame! Thanks for letting me relive my childhood
Man this game still looks beautiful, the sprite work is insane
this is so much better than the first one.. wolverine actually get to use his claws😅
Still one of my top X men games. I played the hell out of this as a kid. Never beat it lol but had a lot of fun
you know this channel is high effort by the literal two minutes left in completed unedited where the game is just paused at 36:03
haha thanks, in the beginning i was thinking my cart was fault because the game started directly with the game without any intro :D
I liked using certain characters for certain stages. For the falling stage, Nightcrawler is best. Wolverine is ideal for the Savage land.
I've had this game on my mind for years and years but I could never remember the name. I'm so glad I finally found it. Now I just need to get my hands on a copy of it.
fun game, amazing graphics. The soundtrack for Clone Wars incredible. It helps to use beefy speakers.
This game was just amazing. I spent many hours playing this and comix zone and earthworm Jim.
I would love this and Spider-Man separation anxiety to be rereleased in the new consoles. Especially maximum Carmage.
They should release a collection of these like they did with TMNT.
I loved this game!
I remember that i loved the music, and i was very scared of the sentinels explosion part, the red lights and the explotions make me go away and let my brother play alone xD😂
me too!!!!
I miss this game, never finished it - hope to play it again
This game is incredible, it has a really interesting difficulty
I miss playing this game SOOOOOO much. I could unlock Magneto and complete the rest of the game with him. No deaths either. I would get a flawless victory over Apocalypse with every playthrough.
Psylock is such a baddie
Need to play this game again. Good thing I own it
I knew it was good when he stopped to jump through the breakable wall on the first level.
This game is on fire
Thought this was going to be a flawless run until you got popped in the Savage lands
Yep. Some games are impossible to run without any damage.
This game was DOPE AS HELL 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Used to play the everliving shit out of this game. I always turned the game off and on until I either got Magneto, Cyclops, or Gambit. Such a fun game.
My Most played sega Genesis game that first level bring back memories
Perfect
One of the best looking games in that 16bit era
The animations were great on this game, it's fast and enjoyable to play
This game was my childhood
awesome game!
I loved this game. Wish my PS5 had it
ESSE JOGO É LINDO !!!
Chapter 5 music is dope af
Naquele breve momento de pausa, certeza que você foi ao banheiro 😂
I kill for a modern hd remake of this game along with the 90s spiderman game.
You could play as Magneto once you past a certain level
Yes, the first game where you could do so. That was my main incentive for purchasing it back in the day.
Nicely done! Love Psylocke
THIS GUY IS AMAZING
Nice Psylocke thumbnail.
30 years later I discover how to get past the first level of this game.
1:12:20, I guess that makes Psylocke Ellen Ripley in this case.
Damn, i wish this was on ps5. All i rememeber is no one....and i mean absolutely no one could beat the second level for me. None of my cousins or friends could even make it to the boss of lvl 2. So everytime i played this game with someone it was "hey, u wanna play to level 2 eight quick" lol
This game needs to be on the switch
Look at the impossible beauty standards they had back in the day.
Thought bro forgot about the toward attack until the Apocalypse fight.
this wasn't in steam unfortunately. i missed this game when i had mega drive 2 as a kid. when did you find it and in HD some more too?
this is a great game, the only thing I never liked is the convoluted level design.
the thumbnail 🤤🤤🤤
Robert Porter, aka Robaato, he is the one who made that art
@@TheKreAt0r oh really nice 👍
Had me going for a bit there thinking it was a blind run lol
The magneto fight sure seemed like it.
this should be on the NSO service
I loved this game. Just dnl it for an emulator. Hopefully the touch screen buttons won’t mess with the gameplay
30 years later realizing the Sega X- Men games are just Chakan the Forever Man reskinned. Even the music is similar.
The first X-Men game is simlar to Chakan as it was developed by the same developer.
It's similar to the SNES game of the X-Men (Mutant Apocalypse) made by Capcom
Check out x-men: mutant apocalypse, i think it's a superior game, the music alone is kick ass
yeah mutant apocalypse is much better just wish he had more challenge and was a bit longer
Just came here to hear the robots.
Bobop!
First, I loved this game. So much better than the first X-Men game on the genesis. Second, Psylocke's body proportions are terrible lol.
This game kinda remind me chakan the forever man
That part with the spinning ground and the ball dropping before fighting Pocy... the Genesis can't actually do that, can it? It's just giving the illusion of rotation using the color changes? And the illusion of scaling by changing the ball sprite to a bigger one when it gets closer? Looks like they only have two sizes.
Also Psylocke could never beat Pocy 1v1.
😇
😇
around 36:00 this changed from a no damage run to a longplay lololololo
Psylocke 🤤
Who's robot ninja man's is this in the beginning? Foot clan got tired of fighting turtles?
Love thr Genesis system, but I really hate the lacking of L1 and R1.
que onda lean y gath son iguales y enzo y marce tambien, como que dos son jamie madrox uno mystique y uno solo seria original pero no se cual, la barba candado de los cuatro los delata como amigos de la humanidad
1:24:44 🤘👍🎧🕹
Is me or does Pyslocke look like an Avatar?
That Psyloche art goes hard 🔥🍑👀
Robaato is the guy you are looking for who made that art
