- So like many of you, I have always ridden motocross and Enduro and always struggled with one or the other depending on what bike I'm riding. So while I have a motocross bike and Enduro bike... I thought I would settle the argument once and for all
Again huge apologies for the wind noise. Im such a wally!

Give this man a beta sponsor. Love the content mate
Ye beta ... Give me a bike 😁
Great video and good to see a comparison between the two.
Was pretty fun to make too
Interesting comparison, something different for sure. What has really impressed me when watching your vids with the 390 is the motors ability to tractor and lug without stalling. I wish other manufacturers would offer similar style longer stroke motors for hard enduro. That ability to lug at low revs is the main 2 stroke advantage these days. Cheers.
It's a beast it almost does ride itself
Suspension settings and placement of forks, increase or decrease in head angle, gear ratios will all be factors. Some of the people that ride their MX bikes on the trails complain about having to constantly shift gears to stay in the powerband due to limited low end torque.
That beta is looking like it rides itself 😍
never liked them but the last 2 years they’ve got my attention big time and could be the next bike for me ! 👀
Basically does 😂
Currently own a 2021 Beta 250RR , made final payment this week. Thimking of buying a 4stroke beta this go round, cant make up my mind weather to get 350 or 390. Will be my first thumper as only ridden 2 strokes lol. Love the vid and Betas rock this video proves it to me again.
The 350 and 390 are identical apart from the crank and Conrad even the piston is the same in both. The 390 just gives a tiny bit more bottom end which I like. The 350 you have to rev a bit more
Cracking video I am sure your beta went from a 4 stroke to a 2stroke back to a 4stroke 😂 now that’s really impressive 💪🏴👍 I loved my green goblin ,so I can be a bit biased when it comes to Kawasaki but that beta is set up ,so are on it everywhere you go marsh 👍
As a Mx bike the kx for a 450 is so good the powers lovely and soft unlike the others. It's more manageable but that beta is just so good right now.
Great to back in good condition love the video good old Beta.
The beta is the best 👌
This Channel is so underrated brilliant content…
Cheers mate I can't wait for the algorithm to think the same 🤣
Looked like a rad time! Great video
Thanks man
Mate, that was a great video. I’ve never seen you ride on a mx track and you were flying, in tough conditions. Really like the look off that beta. Think my mx days are behind me to be honest, so something I could green lane and still do some mx practise days on feels like a good decision.
Thanks a lot Sam 🙌 I actually used to race motocross and the thought of riding in enduro would bore me but now I am the polar opposite and find it the most fun you can have on two wheels
@@Motomarsh thanks for the reply buddy
Best of both worlds, in my opinion, is the KTM 300 XC it's great on the track or trails if you're a weekend warrior like myself. SX and XC-W are pretty task specific bikes.
It's definitely hard to find a bike to do everything perfect but this might be one of the best bikes I've ever owned
Pretty cool comparison. And that track looks tough as wet as it was.
The track was actually so good the ruts were 🤤
Awsome video 👌
Thanks brother 😊
Looks like you can put the Beta exactly where you want it especially considering how tricky the track conditions look.
Exactly and I really couldn't believe how much more effective that KX was on the track also. I felt I could do lap after lap on the beta the Kx I was knackered 🤣
Love the video tho I'm disappointed in you vaping
🤣🤣 eagle eyes
You can definitely tell you're more comfortable on the Beta. The power delivery seems to be entirely different on the KX. Almost seemed difficult to manage in the enduro sections.
It was exactly that just a bit too much for the enduro section. But in all fairness the beta has different gear ratios from stock to help with the hard stuff and the kx was stock
Great vid marsh and I’m a beta man,
But few considerations I suppose model years.? Also you seem 2 ride the beta a lot more.? at least on ur content so maybe feeling comfortable on a bike is a big factor also.? or it’s just a rad bike 🙌🏼
2020 the kx is I have been on the beta alot more recently but I've also had 2 years riding the kx before the beta came into my life. So I'm no stranger to the kx. But I would say the beta had the slightest advantage. I thought I would have been quicker on the kx tho so I was shocked
out of interest what bend fatbars are on your beta ? just ordered cr high for mine
I actually don't know but I'm going to go back to the standard bar these are slightly to high. I like a low bar personally
Marsh mate, what's the best enduro bike for me to buy and in the isle of man? I'll be doing the sort of stuff you and Mid West mainly do. I'm properly swayed by 2 strokes cos of my youth and the smell but I have no idea what is actually best. 4 or 2, beta or ktm.
Well beta will win hand's down in the two 2 or 4t the beta is literally race ready but the KTM you'll need to spend some money on getting it up to the level of the beta
Thanks! Beta it is! @@Motomarsh
I myself would much rather have a 300 2t enduro as it exceeds every other bike for hard enduro and still has the power and if you make some suspension adjustments would be a viable track bike for the weekend. Obviously they are a bit hard to compare to something like a yzf 450 that is purpose built for the track but if you took that thing into hard enduro you would struggle to get it very far.
I do enjoy a 2t but I just prefer the 4t at the moment. The extra torque is unbeatable. And it's just easier to ride. I would be forever changing gears on the two stroke and find I can lug a higher gear on this
So awesome bro. What gearing are you running on the 390?
At the moment standard 49 rear and 12 on the front. Stock is 13. And for hard hard enduro 51 rear
Weirdly enough I'm doing the exact same thing . Trying to see if my CRF250R or Beta 390 better suits an old geezer for MX like me. 'Nipped down to Italy' from Munich with the Kids and both Bikes. The agility and bigger reserves in the Suspension on the Honda feel better on a proper MX tracks (doubles, big jumps, banked corners etc) but I'm not at all sure I'm actually faster. Going to ask my Mate o time me...
That's the interesting thing about the 390 You might not feel faster but it actually is smoother and faster on the stopwatch. I was very shocked I thought it would be close but
Unfortunately Scientific oldie-MX comparison had to wait. I twanged an oldie Muscle in my oldie Back 3rd Lap on Honda. After that it was 'lets focus on technique' Laps only. Next time....
Just FYI i think Beta has a motocross machine
Thought you sold the kx450f ? I’ve seen it on Facebook for sale
Ye she's definitely for sale now 🤣 I only need the beta.
just cant controll the power
I'm sure with a different pilot the outcome would be different but I am mid-level I would say and it's definitely too much power
seen you up saint wells the other day
What a sick track it is💪 you should come over and say hi dude
@@Motomarsh yes i should of 😄
You think tires had much to do with the times?
Umm good question actually the beta was on my hard enduro moouse and was far to soft really. But the KX had Mx tyres on I would say noth bikes had equal wear tyres. I've ridden the beta alot recent but the KX I've probably rode more hours on in total. Do I think it was quite fair. I could definitely improve both times but wanted a raw no excuse time for this
What model is your Beta?
She's a 22 390 bud
My money on the Beta
You can see the confidence on the beta compared to the kx 👍 did you say the 2 stroke was hard to ride?
Ye they are more fun but forever hooking hears to keep in that small window of peak power the 4t has a much wider power window so you can lug a gear higher in the corner I find
@@Motomarsh i don't disagree with the the 4 having the wider but the 300xcw does really well, i feel, with lugging and with climbing out of the basement into good ol scream mode like i love with the 2 stroke power. Have had others that race 4 strokes say that it's like a 3 stroke after riding it.
Banana boat!
🤣🤣
What’s bars you got on the beta mate
I'm still undecided if I like them there some ti bars I bought in a panic 😂 think I'm going back to the stock bend I much prefer it
@@Motomarsh ah fair enough mate I didn’t get on with the standard bars felt to low so I use twin wall 994 now but would like to try something else
Just to add to this, I got a set of rentals on mine, (KTM high bend)..hate them, bike doesn't turn in properly with the higher bar. I'm definitely going back to the stock setup.
What models are they???
The kx is 20 and beta is a 22 but I thought the kx would have taken it on the track. The beta just corners so so well
Is the Beta a 350 and the KX a 450? I'm really liking that Beta! Do you think you'll become a stockest of Beta at your shop?
@@dannymac4428Beta 390 KX 450
That mx-track reminds air field..3 or 4 small jumps..comparison there is waste of time. Make same comparison at HawkStone park or any real mx-track and U see the difference if both bikes have stock suspension. Yes I know and I have seen enduro guys beating mx-dudes on rough tracks aswell but I tested couple of years ago samekind of test with 125 yz and 500 exc and I was aproximately 10sec faster on yz on a ~2min mx-track length..track was rough and bikes were stock.
Trouble is there's no many Tracks for people to go and ride so I think it's a fair comparison to what the general public will be riding on 💪
I hear U! I give points for that enduro test..450 mx bike stalls all the time on tight corners..best bike for dual (enduro/motocross) thrills is 250 or 300 2-t...Just my opinion =).
I think the mx bike will be better if you have to choose one for both disciplines
Okay so I was wrong
I was quite surprised aswell. I thought going into it the beta overall would be the better all round bike but I was genuinely shocked at the result in the Mx track. Obviously different track different rider maybe the outcome would be deferent. But for me personally apparently the beta 390 is something to behold. But that's just me. The kx with a softer power delivery and softer forks and different gear ratios would be pretty good. I wanted a raw outcome basically
Rpotimg for thr beta
👌🙌
