wow when I saw the change in cameras it looked like the quality dropped significantly, but I'm also biased because I've always like the chin mount cam more. Regardless this track looks sick, keep shredding

Also, he might just have default settings on the other camera, which can absolutely ruin quality. The mic also seemed blocked, so the audio was way worse. And that again contributes to a drop in quality.
The video quality isn't really that different, why you're noticing is because the audio quality of the chest camera is so much worse. If he'd continue to use the audio from the helmet cam, you wouldn't have even noticed (I'm a professional editor for a TV station).

honestly I have to say I think chinmount is not only better footagewise (I would argue this is personal preference) but the audio is better as well. To sync the footage you could clap at the beginning of the moto so when editing you can line them up perfectly so you could use only one audio source and even the cut is smoother

As a newly advanced expert road racer who’s never ridden dirt, you’ve single handedly persuaded me to buy a new to me crf100, just from watching your videos. Have gotten comfortable using the 100 for training for the roadracing season and hoping to upgrade to a 250 at some point this year. Dude from along time racer it's sooo much easier to go dirt to knee sliders and not the other way but you'll be better for it .

both cameras have good video quality, but the chin mount audio is 10x better, but the chest mount shows the work being put in on the bike where the chin mount seems like more of a relaxed ride because you cant see all the body movements

chin mount is way better quality but the chest mount is a better view, take the camera from ur chin and put it on the chest mount and it would be perfect

I actually really like the chest mount view because it lets us see your body/bike position more. The image quality of that camera was quite poor though.

The chest cam is awesome, but I suggest using the audio from your mic setup instead of the X3's audio. Also might be worth color grading the X3's footage to match that of the One RS
Although honestly, I think you should just get another One RS. The X3's 30 FPS is quite jarring, and the image quality is just lacking in general

The chest mount for sure takes the cake. Being able to see the body movement when working with the bike of someone as skilled as you is incredible to watch from that perspective. Thanks for the video.

The chin location will always be king. I wanna see what my eyes would be seeing...or at least as close to that vantage point as possible.

Honestly, try and do both more. chin cam gives us better quality, chest cam shows us the work youre putting in on the bike, keeping your rhythm , balance and momentum

Great thing about Michigan we have the natural terrain here to build some of the sickest backyard tracks if you have the resources and mindset

Just a creative tip for you, you could use the same audio from the chin cam just because it was way better, and have it play over the chest cam video instead!

IDK if you read these comments but when you're editing these you should always use the better audio (which seems to be your helmet gopro) when you cut between helmet and chest angle. The chest audio is muffled and muddy sounding, and the helmet audio is crisp and clear. So when you're editing don't even bother with the b-audio track. It's a simple thing that will elevate the quality of your videos.
