Restoration BROKEN Forged Rustic Shearing SHEARS

- Restoration of old broken sheep shearing shears. . I found it during a hike in a high-altitude area. Hand-forged in rustic conditions. And I want to restore them to use in my workshop.
First of all, I removed the rust with a rust remover, then I used a sandblaster for further cleaning.
I cut a broken piece of the blade from a steel hand saw on wood and welded it with scissors using a welding machine. Then all the irregularities were filled with lead and sanded and sharpened.
With the help of mesh tape and elastic black paste, I made two new handles. I painted it black and also made a new scabbard with a locking strap.
Also made a fun test for you. I hope you enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

An old very rusty dagger 😍ua-cam.com/video/lBgmxYnRpe8/v-deo.html
The idea use of the saw blade fantastic 👌
Amazing it's cutting so softly. I've never seen a scissors like that this big. Great video. Thanks Alex.
Thank you ^_^
It is a really old shear, from the Ice Age! It was used to shear wooly mammoths and rhinoceroses! :))
Good job, it came out really nicely!
Two years ago, i have received a normal sized one as a gift. It was used to shear the sheeps. It was in the attic of an old house, made from unburnt bricks. The tools and the alarm clock weren't used since many decades and are all covered by a thick layer of rust. I want to restore the tools.
Thanks for the feedback! I wish you success
You are a wizard! If I met such a thing, I would not even allow the thought that scissors would work. It's just brilliant❤
Beautiful work! Giving the shears another chance at life is a fantastic thing. Granted, they may not have to do much in the way of heavy work but they work well given their age and previous condition.
great job on restoration broken forged rustic shearing shears screw and tools😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Beautiful restoration mister Screws good job
Well done! 👍👍👍
8:23 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Brilliant video. Gave something that most folks would throw away a new life. Well done
Incredible work and awesome refurbishment ❤
Not gonna lie, I'm glad you spared the lamb 😂
nice job
That was an unbelievable restoration, when you first should them I thought they were beyond repair....AMAZING! Best wishes from here in the UK.
Thank you!!
I have some of these, but never thought of restoring them. I love your attention to detail. Thanks!
Thank you!!
Nice restoration as always 👏👏
Before anyone complains about using hard solder to fill the rust pits and holes, that’s been standard procedure restoring steel car bodies for decades. It was also standard procedure for filling seams between steel, car body panels during manufacturing. It works great, does not rust, is essentially invisible even without paint.
It could also be used to restore like new appearance to the edged weapons we see worked on here but that would not affect their function while it would hide their history.
You found a very common prosaic farmer’s tool to repair this time. Not a sword or dagger, instead something intended to keep life going.
This is really why I love your work.
Hi! Thank you so much for your attention and detailed information. Few people know this now, thank you! p.s. glad to read ^_^
When you started punching holes in the sheath, I was so excited, rivets yes. You took trash and made it useful again. Thanks for the videos, Alex, stay safe. Beep beep 😎
Restaurada tesoura de jardim 😉
@@ScrewsAndTools 👍😉🤝
Well done it turned out lovely and you are a great restoration. 👍
Thanks Alan
I almost believed you'd would have clipped the beard. Then I thought naah!
Spot on with the rebuild, by the way. They are sharp...
Nice work bringing those shears back from the dead! Did you consider doing a leather wrap of the handles themselves? You might have been able to integrate the closing mechanism so that you aren't left with a loose strap that might be easily misplaced. Just a thought. 👍
Good idea! I didn't think about the leather, but fixing the strap is a good idea
Excellent, like the use of the saw blade to make repair, that worked really well, good work
Thanks!
A nice simple restoration and now the wife can give you free hair cuts?
😂
Maybe I'll let her use my scissors on holidays.
Careful around the ears ! ✂️
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂 loved every bit
I have an old pair of shears like that. Maybe I should sharpen them. might be useful someday.
Likely not unless you shear a lot of sheep or merino. Only seen it in videos as everyone uses electric direct drive clipper now. We did a few, but never again. It’s a skill.
Hello Alex, what a fun video! I haven't seen a pair of shears like that in a long time! Great restoration! Especially like the handles! Very fun test! But never go after the beard!!!!! All the very best to You and Yours from Brian in Southern California
Hi Brian! Thank you so much for your interest and attention to my work) Best wishes too ^_^
@@maxim_izhevsk Ага.

U didn't give up on it, how nice of u
Alex is a very nice name :)
Now all you need is a sheep to test it out on
Hahahah
Bahhhhh Haaaah 😅
There’s a pretty steep learning curve.we never did get it. The direct drive horse clippers worked, though. Never again.
8:20 oh, noes
Ha ha! Right from the start i was wondering if you were going to cut your beard with them!
^_^ Thanks))

Mr. Beep Beep 😎
hahah
Great job. You inspire as always. Now go and roast some lamb as a reward.
Thanks)))
Quite impressive! Beep! Beep!
)))))
Dagger-scissors
Beep beep. I love it when you restore unconventional items
Pertama....
❤❤❤
My dear friend, I really need to contact you because I want to buy and own these wonderful daggers, but I know nothing about how to buy them.
Is your next video how to fix a busted saw with a piece of a shovel? 😂
🤔🤣👍✌👏👏👏🍾
Shear joy? 😅
Shears ?)
"It's easier to buy a new one"...
That's as may be, but it also makes for a far less interesting video.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
