No joke the supers are amazingly animated and are a thing of completely beauty, but my only problem is that from a Fighting Game perspective it sucks to have 5 minute Cinematic supers. There's a lot of stuff that could be optimized time-wise so the supers don't end up becoming tedious.
Again, from an animation perspective the pixel art is completely amazing and the choreographies are really well executed, just that they last for too long.
I think the worst part is that they don't deal enough damage to fit duration and feel of the animation. I mean, Goku literally goes Ultra Instinct in one of them at the damage is still only worth about half health. Also, Piccolo has a base Super that does well over 300 hits and it's only about a quarter of the enemies' health?
I absolutely love the work they put into the animations but if they want them to feel worthwhile then they need to do something about the balance of them.

@@koko13332 I'm not saying have it be instant kill, though for some it certainly looks like it should. I'm just saying give them damage that looks like it warrants what is happening in the animation.

With how long they were, I thought they were either instant-kill moves, or cutscenes that play on guaranteed 0 HP, like Guilty Gear or Blazblue.

Fun Fact: If you pay attention to their generic hits, it actually mimics the intended fighting style of each character rather than just punches and kicks.
Goku's (base and ssj) all mimic the way a martial artist fights
Vegeta (base and ssj) are as brutal as the saiyan fighting style
Gotenks has way too many guards open for you to exploit, making him one of the few hardest character to use

Another thing to note is that one of Piccolo's level 3 attacks do 666 damage, considering he thought himself the demon king one time.

The animations and mechanics are so good goku cna pick up any character on their back and its sprites so they make it that the character shows that animation and when a spirit bomb is used the character starts pushing ut away so cool

This might be the best MUGEN project by far because the style is consistent.
I love how creative some of these are. To be honest, UI feels like it tries too hard. Then you have others like Buu, Killin, and Piccolo which are such great uses of their abilities.

@@xenolys9956 yeah they are longer than regular supers to emphazise in the big damage, however they're not too long to not kill the game flow or dynamic so it doesnt became tedious

In Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors (GBA), if you throw the *Death Ball* downward (and the enemy lets it fly past them), it hits the planet and a 45 second countdown begins. If they don't kill Frieza in that time, they die.

@@DrLove307 yeah I got into the franchise through the games, more specifically 300 hours of xenoverse 2. I tried to get into theboriginal anime but I'm really bad at consistantly watching anime so I stopped at like ep 12 and haven't picked it up again yet. So yeah everything I know comes from xenoverse 2, fighterz, a few clips I've seen and a few wiki deepdives I did.
Also one more question... why does vegito turn into an orb?
@Chippy Baiju oh yeah I know most of this. I know about gogeta and vegito (although I always thought vegito Was the more serious one and gogeta the more cocky one, but I didn't really read into them as well, I'm just going off their game portrayals). I know about metamorian and potara fusions and all that. I accually know a ton about the characters and the lore, just going from 300 hours of xenoverse 2 and a lot of wiki deepdives. But thanks for trying to explain it anyway, if I didn't know much about dragonball that would have been insanely helpful (it took me a month or two to realise why vegito and gogeta are different, I was just confused for a while there. Also why one guy has pink hair and the others have blue in ssgss held me up for a lomg time. That, if you didn't know, stems from the fact that goku and vegeta were given god ki while zamasu Was born with it). Stuff like zhis is always super nice and appreciated :)

Team Z2 did a good job on their characters.
I feel like Dragon Ball tends to undercut just how good some of the side characters are. Like, for example, Krillen. He's one of the most clever utility based fighters there are, and yet they consistently knock him down enough to cause a Krillen Owned Count to exist in the parody.
