It was nice to see Lucky in your coffee. And last, but not least, I am sorry for the death of Navalny. He is a hero and now a martyr. Beautiful Snow
My mother came here from Bogota for school years ago. She met my father and the rest is history. My cousin also moved here from Colombia and she's doing great. Thank you for the Colombian coffee shout out, it is number 1 on my fav list. Enjoy the Big Apple with all it has to offer. You couldn't make a better friend than with a Colombian. They are the best 😊

I communicate regularly with my friend in St. Petersburg. She sends me videos of the police brutally arresting people who are just trying to show their sympathy and support for the Navalny situation. We subscribers of you fully understand your feelings!

It was another wonderful video you gave us! I love watching you navigate NYC, as I shall probably never get there. But most of all, everything seems more exciting from your point of view and somehow more full of colours and joys. You have made thoughtful friends and they are lucky to have you in their lives as well. I am sending you positive vibes for your project and hope you both win! My tears were plentiful on the great loss for the people of Russia, especially when those who only wanted to lay a flower were denied. Union Square @ 9 mins? I stayed on E17 once. There was a good wines & spirits store on the corner of Union Sq. / E17. With very reasonable prices. Round the corner there was a very cheap bakers too, a little shop, Eastern European I seem to remember. Got morning loaves for 50c. :)
It’s funny how the first place most foreigners want visit is NYC which really isn’t what most of the United States is like. But, if you’re a city person like Dari then I guess you’ll like NYC. It’s more for younger people like her. Once you are in your 30s you start thinking about buying a house and building some equity which is difficult to do in a big city.
How one views a place and what one gets from the experience is very much dependent upon one's frame of mind at the time.
I remember the Christmas Eve service in the Riverside Church where each walk-in attendee was handed a white candle and it was then lit by the flame 🔥 passed on to each person for the service.
It was the chain reaction (of positive feedback) illustrated by each person's passing on of the flame to a few others around them.
I feel so sad about Navalny, too and sad for his family and I’m not even Russian. He offered hope and now that hope is gone. You are such a brave young woman and can express your feelings freely now. We will all keep his memory in our hearts.
Surprisingly the lightest moment of the video was the sponsor's spot, which didn't feature a simple voiceover, but rather a script and an uncredited actor. If the intention was to not have people skip past the spot, it worked for me as I watched it twice. 👍 Hoping for more fun/awkward skits like itn the future.

You certainly live in a beautiful area, and the white snow accentuated that beauty. I did not know much about St. John's University until you attended there, Daria. It has a lot of amazing features, but the one thing I like best is the cultural diversity! I too shed a tear when hearing about the death of Navalny, because I not only felt bad for him but also for his wife, his family, and Russia. Navalny loved Russia and only wanted to make it a better country. I think he chose to become a martyr. His name and his bravery are now known worldwide.

This winter has been a good one. Little snow, warm weather. I'm not far from NYC we have similar weather.
I saw the death of the opposition leader. He was in a jail near the Arctic Circle. With what is going on in the US, world affairs are all out of control.
I grew up in the Nuclear Era when we were scared of Nuclear War destroying the world. Hopefully things will get better

You WILL win the competition. I LOVE musicals. I've been to the same one in London 3 times spanning 5 years. People change, set change a bit but the music is the same. I know Navalny was at one stage your only hope. I liked him a lot. The fact that he was sent to Siberia was so fans can't go there. If he were still in Moscow, the fans would have gathered there - and it was too close to rhe Cremlin. Many people say he did not 'die', rather another word. I saw people yesterday laying single flowers down and lighting good candles for him. I was teary. I saw some Russian MEN. Some openly crying, some with red eyes and runny noses. I call them MEN. They showed their true feelings. I'm always excited when I get a notification. I saw many Chinese 'New Year' shows. We have a lot of Chinese people in our town. Love you, WORK on your project en win.

The snow fall is always beautiful. The flakes falling must have been huge for your camera to pick them up so strong. I like seeing the old building architecture. That building with the columns and circle held up in front of a building reminds me of the science building in Minsk. I hope your team will win the business competition. This Broadway show looked amazing.
I am very sorry for your bad news. I remember hearing of that man some time last year. It is terrible. This whole happening with what Putin did to Ukraine shocked me so much, and how steadily worse some things have been getting in Russia. I carry a strong concern with how Lukachenko will continue to interact in all this. It is hard to sustain hope when despair hits hard.
I wish you joy and peace. I didn't address you as "Miss Sunny Soul" because I thought it might read as insensitive to your plight. Your anger and sorrow will burn strong, but better it burns out than keep it in and you burn up. I will hope for a speedy and sustaining comfort to quell your heart and undim your light. I know the news discouraged many young people like yourself. Having followed the lives of dissidents during over decades, I was impressed at how long he lasted. That in itself is reason for you to hope.

I know it's a tough time for you, but you can't let this affect you. I know university is stressful enough, but worrying about things out of your control will just make things worse. The best you can do is push forward and become stronger for it. Who knows perhaps something good will come out of this unpleasant affair, and changes for good will come about.

I am sorry about the death of Navalny. I don't know the full story but what bothers me is why did he return to his homeland with such a target on his back. Since you like musicals, I highly recommend The Book of Mormon. In addition to having great songs & a great story, it's also one of the funniest musicals I've ever seen. I think anyone would enjoy it, but especially if you have any knowledge about the Mormon church.

My opinion is we either become getting wiser , and wiser in life and use it for the benefit of ours …..or we stay delusional..stressed and probably not going anywhere.
Snow has just arrived in W Ohio with 3 inches of snow! The snow machines are making snow for the sky. & snow boarding slope. It is going to heat back up into the 40°F range later this week. (4.4°C, you should get this heat wave about a day or 2 later, weather in the USA travels west to east) Getting any masters degree can only be described as work, work, & more work. I hope that you are enjoying the work of the masters degree as it will only get worse. After you graduate then that work will become more critical and at times just as intense. I feel the death of Navalny is just the beginning of a down hill slide economically and for social stability in the Russian Federation. Most people in Washington DC don't want an unstable Russian Federation. It was & is a sad day.

Hi Dari, great chilled out video this week. You even had some snow to enjoy, I always like seeing it snowing (unless I have to drive in it!). Always enjoy seeing your life in NY, maybe you got used to all the trips back and forward to the university by now? Hope you win the big prize as surely your business plan will be the best! Such a sad event at the end of the video though as another crazy thing happens in Russia. This week is 2yrs since start of the war - can't believe it. Hope you have a fun week and it gets a bit warmer!
