We have been using Math Mammoth and have enjoyed it. For the most part, it is easy to follow and is designed for independent work. I love the examples and colorful pictures because it's not all black and white for the lower elementary visual learners. In my opinion, I bought Masterbooks not knowing how underperforming it was. Therefore, I would recommend it for lower level special education learners that may struggle in math or may have a very low attention span (e.g. ADHD).

Thank you! This was so helpful. We're currently using Jump math but one of my kids has very little interest in math and finds it very boring. I'm going to check out Math Mammoth and Masterbooks.

We are using math lessons for my daughter as she needs the gentle approach and she is thriving with it, we have just discovered math mammoth a few months ago for my son and he loves it so much, he is very mathy and the way it’s presented works well for him

Great Review! I bought Abeka Arithmetic for my kids this school year, but was very disappointed. We switched to Math-U-See after I found Math-U-See Alpha and Beta Workbooks for $2.00 a book at Goodwill. We have been using it without the teachers manual, videos or their blocks. Instead we used our own unfix cubes; and I just go over the material with them. We are loving it so far. I actually like that its black and white. It seems less distracting! Math Mammoth seems like a good choice if Math-U-See doesn't work out price wise for us next year.

We have used Math U See for two years and love it! Highly recommend the videos though, they’re very short & so so helpful.

Thanks for the review! Master books math now has additional practice sheets to purchase on the side that correlate with the lessons to increase the amount of work for each level and understanding of the topic. I think with the practice sheets, it gives it a little more :)

As someone whose done master books math, I absolutely think the extra practice sheets are essential. With those, my son excels and enjoys the curriculum

my issue with masterbooks was not the lack of more exercises but the simplicity of it and actually too much of the same exercises though. )) but it might be great for other kids

Yes, they have digital access for every level from Primer through Pre-Calculus. When you purchase a Universal or Level Up set it comes with digital access. Digital access can also be purchased separately.

@@StoriesFromTheNorthwoods Thank you. Me too. I have 2 older children I homeschool but my older 2 both learned in different ways from each other. I'm searching for the right fit for my youngest now. Thanks so much for your reviews and help. We are definitely doing CLE Learning to Read and LA 1 for our youngest. Now just have to choose the math. Hah

Have you found any negative to using masterbooks? We're now 1/4 into level 2 and are questioning the process (thinking of moving into math mammoth). We find it lacked in teaching number sense and mental math? Or did we miss something

hi, yes he had finished Math Mammoth full course which ends at grade 7, but since MM is advanced grade 7 is pre -Algebra basically, so we started saxon Algebra right away, worked smooth and no issues. after he had finished Algebra 2 though i switched him to DIVE math whcih is online program that grades and tests. and not that repetative and drilling as SAXON which my son didnt like. he is doing pre calculas now and loves DIVE
