Heart never gets old. When I went to the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Heart got a tiny little mention. Hendrix and Nirvana got entire rooms. Heart were the first ladies of rock. They deserve better.

Except her boyfriend (love of her life) in '77 was Roger Fisher's brother Michael, he inspired so much of her crazy/incredible singing, lyrics and songs on those first 4 albums... then, somehow, he decided that THAT Ann Wilson wasn't good enough for him, and just like Roger cheated on Nancy, accelerating his exit from the band, Michael's damage lasted a long time, and it ended up changing that classic lineup forever...
So, yeah; I, too, think I'd be pretty damn happy with her.
Even now/she recently turned 70 and looks amazing and still seems as cool as can be; but who did she marry a few years back for her first time being married, and in her 60s? Someone who quickly thereafter (almost 4 years ago now) assaulted Nancy's twin teenage sons, bringing the first breakup and estrangement between the Wilson sisters in over 60 years.
Only last year did they finally reconcile.

Ann's emotional pull is felt here in the bridge & that has been a major part of what Heart is always about..with no small help from Nancy & Howard Leese & co. of course. Ann is the queen of pulling a listener into the tune, for sure for a fine lil diversion or a shoulder to cry on/commiserate with, & also being happy. Whatever the occasion, Heart has music for it. Heart was a Rock Solid unit with that original lineup. Yes, Anne's vocals are among the best in all of rock. It's true. But ALL members contributed to their strong and distinct sound. If there are any standouts in this group, it's Anne and Roger Fisher.
If Anne had been the only standout, this band would have been like Pat Benatar -- great singer with an average backup band. That clearly wasn't the case as I stated before.

She is better than Robert Plant, has lasted longer, still has the pipes, and belts it out to this day as if she were 19 again. She is amazing.
