I am a Hindi speaker and I can say this guy acts way better than most of the Hindi 'heroes' all three khans. This movie in particular was awesome. Another movie that's awesome is Vivegam.

In case you're wondering, that main character Ganesh was kidnapped and tortured by Anakit, that guy with the long hair. The reason was because Ganesh reported Anakit's weapons dealing gang to the police.

Budget technicality.
Most cinematographers in Bollywood are South Indians especially from TN and Kerala. Technically South Indian movies are miles ahead of Bollywood.
