So can you put pit probe to alarm you if the grill temp rises or drops too much? Im asking because few people claim that tp 08 only has this function but not tp 20.

Tried using this thermometer last night when grilling a whole chicken. Two probes used on different sections. Temps said more than 170 degrees, but when I cut into it was still full of pink juices and not done. Anyone know what I did wrong??
In my experience chicken looks too pink for me until it hits 180. I cook chicken for people on my smoker all the time. Always take up to 180 and it's always juicy. You may think it would be dry but try it for yourself. It's safer and gives a better product in my opinion. You may just not like chicken at 170.
@@BadBeastBarbecue 40 degrees off on both probes from them i have a therm pop and it read 2 degrees different then the main smoker probe from the 30-06 and i got the old manual probe out that dead on and it read the same temp as the 30-06 smoker from www.smokinggunjerky.com/ so i figure the china junk stuff i got a walmart is junk and not safe for me to read for chicken or pork or fish. so its going back to them or i send it back to china and ask for full refund plus shipping since it junk...
Omaha steaks? man i should've read the whole description.. Omaha steaks are horrible, but 125 should have been alot more red, yours look closer to well..but the thermometer looks good though

You can use your second probe for ambient temps you should have a grill clip with it

I can't say for sure,, the probe could have been near or touching the bone which will sometimes give you inaccurate temps.

i set it at 165 and 3 other prob read food 40 degrees colder and this rig is so bad in temp
Never had that problem, and I always double check my temps with my instant read thermometer before taking them off the smoker

well my tp-20s reads 40 degrees hotter then what it really is so i recommend do not use this.
