I really enjoyed watching this! I just got my Galant back Sunday before leaving for Georgia from someone who tried to steal it from me. Dyno tuning is so necessary. Your Galant is making absurd power at 16PSI. The intake manifold is not the weak point. You won't need to replace it until you're making well over 500, and you probably know it's not the manifold installation that's a problem. The real pain is relocating everything bolted on the firewall and manifold. Installing a Magnus intake manifold cost me an additional $1,300 on my GSX for battery relocation, COP ignition and a CID box to do it right. Replace injectors or bump your fuel pressure up in the meantime if you have to, but you'll find that until you're running a turbo that can move enough air to beat 500+ that there is no gain as the manifold is not the weak link.
If you want the viper kart to be fast, please ensure you maintain the traction control features, or build a ballast system where you can add hundreds of pounds of weights as necessary for ballast. I can't imagine a viper kart would have any traction at all. A viper already has a ton of traction issues with the TCS disabled. Matt Farah will attest to this.

Surprise project sleeper video. It’s a thanksgiving miracle.
Add an intake manifold so you can make proper use of that head and cams. Then injectors and retune.
    Do it man.

I use to ride around in a 360 whp galant. I think people are so use to all the high horsepower builds anymore on youtube that they think 360hp is nothing. 360 whp is still a lot of power out of a 4g63. I'm sure it's a quick car. Good job!

I had a similar setup on my 91Talon TSI, differences being FP green turbo and FIC 1000cc injectors. 368awhp 338awtq 25psi on a 140k original motor, same Old school HK$ 272's and original ETS 4"core Race intercooler. I loved how fast yet reliable and drivable it was. Only took it to the track once and and consistently ran 12.5's at 110-118mph just hot lapping the poor thing! That was with babying it out of the hole so I didn't break anything. So much fun! Nice job Tom! love your work man!

Great video Tom! I really enjoyed it. What's next for the Galant? I'd recommend a set of injectors, obviously. Tim Jilg at FIC takes very good care of me. Tell him I sent you! As far as the intake goes, I'm still on a stock intake on my Talon, and you know a little about it's performance. I do have some 1000cc Hi-Z injectors, but I'm also running E85. Not sure how accessible E85 is to you, but I absolutely love it. I also have a Wally 450 in the tank. the 1000cc injectors barely get me by at a whopping 60 psi base fuel pressure. Here is something I'd like to try though. An Extrude Honed 1g intake. Then you don't have the other incurred costs and other logistical issues. That's my 3.5 cents!

Hello from 1722/2k! You know the fire car? Tom, do an intake mani and a bigger turbo already, that engine is good to 9k and you know it! Thought about a BEP bolt on HX40? Thing would crack 500whp but still have great response for the street with good spool! On my new build this year I did an edelbrock victor X intake on a 2G head, and OMG the response with the long runners is ridiculous!! It doesnt have the top end that a magnus or JMF does, but its a street car and way more fun, plus Im still single plate clutch and I think we all know those cant shift up high. Anyways I think just like we all do, your original goal and therefor fuel parts are getting outgrown by the overlooming horsepower bug. Throw in a walbro 450/injectors and lets see some power!! (oh you'll need a 4 bolt rear then too lol)

Jay Edlington most of us down here didn't think we were going to flood. I personally do not live in a flood zone. My house is 30 feet above the creek. What got most people down here is that the lakes north of us decided to open their spill ways up at the last minute to their maximum capacity and sent to much water for the creeks to handle. My house was flooded 2 days after the storm passed.

One of my dream builds would be a '90-'92 VW GTI with a supercharged 3.2 VR6 swap (or 1.8t, can't decide or maybe a G60 16v build) with a 2002 Cabrio dash/interior swap with plaid inserts and headliner with an ever so slightly off white very wet looking paint job. Single round headlight grill and an Audi sunroof swap. The wheels would be BBS deep dish RM's or RS's, black with body color matched wheel lips. Lowered, but none of that lame "stanced" crap. I would even like it to possibly be a '90-'92 GLI.
Next would be an BMW E30 2 door. There are way too many ways I could go with that one too.
I LOVE the feel and driving experience of a great mid 80's to early 90's German car. There is something magical about the way they drive. You throw in a modern day engine for power and reliability and you get the experience of old coupled with the power and driveability of new(er)......

Dang, you don't really start cooking until the 4500-5000 range. I have a GT2871r setup on my Speed 3, but my powerband puts down significantly more power much sooner, carrying it all the way to readline (390/385 @ the wheels). I could have even more power sooner, but we neutered it down low for rods' safety.
Why do you think it takes that long into the powerband to make that power? How many lbs/min does that turbo flow? Mine's about 43 or so, and is a great combo for around-town responsiveness, with "guts" over a very wide powerband/tons of power under the curve, yet even flow capacity to be amazing on the highway too.
    Anyways, great vid!

The power dropping off probably isn't the intake manifold but due to the exhaust side of the turbo being to small. You may have to much back pressure. You usually want your back pressure to at least half of the boost pressure.

Great build, Tom. I've been watching since the start. Why do you use manual boost control? You can run a 3 port solenoid with ECMLink. Turn the boost up as the rpm rises to compensate the drop of torque at high rpm, you will have a flat torque curve on the dyno and be more linear at the street at high rpm. Yea, and bigger injectors) Cheers

What about looking into a Magnus intake manifold once you have bigger injectors? My buddy used a Magnus on his 1G AWD Talon that made between 500-550 WHP. Not quite sure on the exact power since it's been many years. If I remember correctly, it was a pretty tame rebuilt engine. I think the only big upgrade to the block was aftermarket pistons besides rod bolts and other essential bits. He was running E85 which definitely helped. I can't imagine how ridiculous this car would be on E85.

Actually the heart breakers are the Mustang dynos, who are the onese that started out with load based tests. Still nice to see load based numbers not made on the Dream-o-mometers, i.e the Dynojet dynos.
Forget what others say, this is the only way to compare numbers from manufactures. This is also the reason why people think Mercedes and Porsche claim too high numbers - they don't They just don't screw around with the numbers like most tuner shops do.
