TTG is the best hidden gem of all automotive shows on youtube.
I love how his garage at home is better equipped than most professional shops :D
Always has the cleanest shop and cleanest builds ever.. such attention to detail as to even torque the rad brackets 😂 Great work as always!
I could watch that seat belt mechanism all day. So cool!
What I love about your videos is that you are not in a hurry, you do not rush things. You take your time and you do everything right. You are not some kind of newbie who does stupid things.
Very great content 5/5 :)
I don't know why it's so satisfying to hear a torque-wrench being used...
Tom: your attention to detail and neatness satisfies whatever part of my brain it is to a T lol. So glad to see her running again! Good luck with the break-in!
+hondafrk Thank you sir, glad to hear it! 😀
Coolest part of the video: The seat belt
I am still laughing from Tom playing the intercooler pipe.
Bigger turbo!!!
You are definitely my youtube inspiration!
Looking forward to more videos!
What about Jason? xD
lmao I create his youtube videos so I can't take inspiration from them.
Engine bay looks great.
Now you just need to do a battery relocate and build and air box in it's place, to convert that pod filter from a hot air intake to a cold air intake.
Wow this is the smoothiest engine and trans install it have ever seen. I am so jealous of ur garage. If I had a lift I could finish so many projects.
Your a true professional Tom, I like your style. A 500whp, kid hauling, grocery go getter. Also I feel ya on our harness issues. Been fixing all the same issues on my 1g DSM. Which just happens to be a panda 91 talon Tsi!
always good to hear 'clicking sound' from torque wrench.
click!
Holy crap that seatbelt system is awesome!
I just found your channel and got up to date on this build last night, then a new episode the next day! Good timing
Whoa, the engine bay looks so spiffy with the engine in place. All that hard work cleaning and detailing has paid off, now..if there was some magical way to keep it that clean moving forward. :))
Can't wait to see what it does at the drag strip!
Tom.. the master of the clean install!
Amazing work Tom. You're an inspiration to me as well as providing me with nice clean work process and habits!
Thanks!!!
Watching your videos really makes me want to continue my 2 mitsubishi projects, keep them coming and maybe i will actually start again
Dude, you're doing an awesome job. This cars going to be better than new when you're done. Kinda like the miata. The quality is your builds are impressive especially seeing how your doing all the work on your own without any help. Your a beast
+Nick Bowling Thank you for the kind words Nick!
Another great video Tom. Car looks super clean.
+bobdoleluke1978 Thank you sir! 👍🏻
I'd love to see you do a 4G63 swap Starion build!
BVM03 uknow starion use a 4g63 soch but yeah iknow 4g63t doch is more 😎😎
yeah they did but if remember right that was only in other countries and we got the g54b i think thats the engine 2.6l sohc headgasket blowing sob
go to smoking tire and look at the starion he just reviewed there, what a flippen beast!
That would be awesome to see. I wouldn't mind seeing a 4g63t swap in a Mighty Max pickup too. There was one in progress on 4g61t.org back when Tom was a member, but that was years ago.
Waaaaaaay back in the day Tom started with a Starion. Can't remember the power plant but I recall it being a drag car backed by a power glide.
Absolute highlight of my week! Thanks for the great videos always Tom!!
3 weeks since last uoload. Im feening!
You need to hire a helper........this man torques everything down, im shocked the battery tie down didn't get torqued lol.
I would buy any car from you.
I'm so happy your making 4g63 videos again. I check back every couple months, and kinda bailed when I saw you sold your 1g. Even tho that miata is ridiculous haha..
It's crazy you do all this work and filming and narrorating and editing by yourself.
Keep beastin.

(beastONboost)
Man i was so pumped to hear it start. great job Tom, can't wait for the next video!
+Danial Daneshmand Thank you Daniel!
You have SOOOOOOO much room between the radiator and engine. Lucky.
Yes! My favourite car on youtube is up and running again! (never had vr4s in my country only GTIs)
Imagine Tom being a serial killer with that precision and attention to detail.
PS. That turboscrew install is epic.
Love it congrats on the build! I loved following the progress! Keep it up
Great job on the build. The 4G63 is such a loud motor I always thought something was wrong with mine then I heard other dsms lol.
Good job Mitch! I learned a lot during this video series. As always I really enjoy your videos.
Yay always great to start the weekend by watching your videos :)
well done, now off to the races!
Have never seen a seat belt system like that. That's Awesome!
Neither have I, which as it appears to be a two point system is good news.
Not sure that would have made it to the UK as2 points is not considered safe
Thomas King good lord guys, how young are you?
I live in Australia, I don't think we had them at all
There's a separate lap belt in these cars as well. IIRC manufacturers had the option to use automatic shoulder belts or airbags for a short time period
Brings back memories. Automatic shoulder belt; manual lap belt. Everyone who sat in the passenger seat for the first time would get in some weird struggle with the shoulder belt, instead of just sitting still and allowing it to be draped over them.
Great video Tom. I love the comedy stuff too.
Definitely deserves way more subs and views
Nice job Tom, that car looks super clean! I was stoked to see it two years ago at the shootout. Can you move out to Chicago to be my personal mechanic? Thanks!
I can handle 100 degree heat in the West, but high heat with high HUMIDITY..... Oh hell no! Even in the winter high humidity is unbearable.
Yeah..... I'm from a dry climate. And I love it. Cars barely rust and its easy to cool down.
Always like your videos man..... Keep them coming on the GVR4.
Congratulations.
Same clutch master/slave and flywheel bolts as a starion, that's pretty neat
Looks and sounds sweet.
What happend to Friday tom...I look forward to that like the local newspapper...when's the next one, can't wait...thanks for any info tom.keep up the awsome work man.your the best on here imo.
That first start sounded very familiar! Unless it was only on some DSM's in that year range I would say you're missing the power steering pump heat shield.
20:05 Oh my god this seat belt is super fancy.
Geeking for some turbo Tom awesomeness, your doing a great job semi restoring it as you go. In limbo until the next episode! 8-)
Would love to see a stock dyno of the vr4. Then a simple tune to get the most of the power out of it.
great work tom!
Nice dude... very nice! Passion and love. Great car, with a great owner.
Sick, so clean too!
Torqued the radiator stays haha
That electric seatbelt is mad!
Sounds good nice work let me know how it feels on the road! 👍🏻👴🏻😎🏎
Torque wrench with a long extension is a about a waste of time. As always super clean build looks good.
Are those the wheels that were on your 4g63t Mirage? I miss those days. I had a 92 Colt that I swapped the old tired 4g15 and 4 speed out for a built 4g63t with a Frankenstein 19c on it. I have a built boosted Civic now that makes 508 whp.
Please send it at the shootout !!!!!!! Don't disappoint us !
That seatbelt action though... never seen that in uk
Another great video as always
Great job as usual. One question....car people know heat will kill an engine and reduce performance (hotter intake air as an example) so why does it seem no one upgrades their radiator, oil cooler, and transmission cooler? Especially with turbo and AWD setups.
That seat belt tripping as!
glad to see it up and running Tom! Just a little feedback, I would have loved to see the electrical repairs you did to that harness by the coolant housing. Did you insulate the repairs with something to prevent future wire damages from heat?
Good job, nice video
You slacking a little, you spent the money on making the gearbox look beautifull but you didnt clean the clutch slave bolts. I'll be awaiting a valid reason 🤣
Because "Cute Babies", right Tom?
Brennan Harrison he's trying to get it to the shootout
You can't see them unless your looking for them on purpose
Oh yeah, sure, no ones going to talk about the fact that Tom had just separated the clouds with the horn of the gearheads....
Yet another great build. U need something more challenging like a rotary build. These piston builds seem like a cakewalk for u Tom
I'd love to see a side buy side data log from the old engine to the new engine without changing anything.
Nice, great series! You know someone is meticulous when they use a torque wrench on the rad upper mount fasteners....LOL...LOL
Good work matey.
consider changing the grille to one from an 89 or 90 galant. maybe even the taillights as well. much better looking from those model years
Launch it !!!
Just wanted to ad a word of caution, I had one of those fuel filters installed inline on my turbo civic. Worked great for a while till it got cold out, the sludge in the filter froze during a cold snap and completely clogged my breather line, causing my crank case pressure to push tons of oil out of my turbo and into the exhaust.
For anyone interested I was using an a6 block z6 head with a td05 14b mated to an adapter plate that allowed me to use the factory hf/std cast manifold. Made pretty good power, 220/183
Fly little mitsu,,,fly. Ty.
I had the same problem with my talon's harness ended up finding the connectors and replacing them and wiring.
How does the best UA-camr only have 131K subscribers?
Nice job!
"Nevermind it's raining" 😂
Lookin' good Tom! Sounds great. You really brought the Galant up to another level. When do I get a ride?
+Joe Wrenches Thanks Joe!! Come up to Tennessee anytime!! Either that or you can go for a ride at the Shootout and listen to my awesome music mix 👍🏻🦄
The little Ferrari is back!!!
Two words for you in the garage. AIR CONDITIONER!
shop fan standing in front of garage door pointing inwards should make ur life a whole lot easier
nice sound bro
Great work! I wish "professional" mechanics worked liked this....
Really does nice work! I 👍
Clean install 👍
Is that what you do for a living? Or you a computer programmer and do this as a hobby ?
well done tom, love your videos, keep up the great work :)
Another great video👍🏻 but after all that time cleaning the engine bay and all those parts, you put that dirty radiator and radiator fan in there right up front..
Hey Tom, what's your opinion on All Aluminum radiators like Koyorad, I'm running one on my dsm and not sure if I see any advantage. Great videos!.
How are you checking fuel leaks if you took the fuel fuse out?
dat seat belt tho 😮
I need to know where to get the book on the torque specs on the complete 4g63..I love the books you have... I must know!!!
Is the fact it's raining not a good enough reason to be in the garage?!?
Dermot O Rourke I've been working on my project car forever out in the elements. But finally buying my first house with a garage.. ready for this game changer. Because after a certain time I couldn't work on it cause had no light. Now I can walk out at midnight and start working on it lol.
I have to move and get a garage also.
Where did you learn to be so slick with the cars??
Thanks man, just love wrenching and grew up around mechanics in a service station.
i had the same problem with my engine loom. it was so bad that plugs were coming off all by themselves :/
There's a RHD Figaro same color as yours in La Crosse WI right now. Just saw it.
Kinda surprised you didn't use a torque wrench on that battery tie down :-p
