I also have beta and unused sound effects I need to dig up as well on an old computer! Which tracks were your favorite? 😁✌🏼
@@DarkCloudCompendium Definitely Gallery of Time honestly! The beta tracks for everything else was certainly nice to hear but it's certainly different from hearing the finished products! Gallery of Time was always a track that lived rent free in my head though since my first time in B8 of the first dungeon, and the beta track doesn't feel like it's missing anything nor is it a full replacement piece which slots it very well at least for me in having two distinct tracks! Glad you like my username too haha! Resident Evil Outbreak certainly had an influence on me at the time!
Ooh, I was aware of a couple of these, but the Shipwreck and Gallery of Time ones in particular definitely caught me by surprise! I personally prefer the originals since they sound a bit more solemn, which better fits the atmosphere, but I love the added drums to these versions!

@@DarkCloudCompendium A sinking ship. It's weird, it's half the length of the other dungeon themes. It's just a sleepy little piano piece and yet it's the one that stuck with me. It's really a wierd feeling hearing a Version of a Song that you know for years that is only slightly different but it somehow changes the entire song. Love the first alt. Hey Liam great to hear from you, my bad things have been busy these past couple of weeks and I couldn't get to the comments as frequently as I would have liked! That sounds like a great idea, I'll keep my eye out for the RPG Maker games on PS2 moving forward since I don't have them 😊
@@DarkCloudCompendium yh so what I ment was making your own"dark cloud 3 which spins off of dark cloud 1 and 2. I really really think this could be an amazing series. Even if it was say a 15 20 min video 1 episode per month or something. Obviously it will depend on your schedual but it would be awesome. Us fans could give u tips and ideas, suggestions to help make the game. I have dabbled in the RPG maker games and I have found that I think RPG maker 2 is much simpler but less detailed. I've tried both and I can say that to succsefully start a series on it u will have to be very dedicated as it's very hard to know what your doing and learning things but I suppose u are a seasoned dark cloud fan and since u done all that dialogue for the DC enhaced mod (which would be beyond me) I think u will do just fine. Also RPG maker 3 although is harder to understand it's more advanced but it tends to utilise old gen graphics like SNES so not sure how it would look but yh
It's so interesting to hear the originals. I'm surprised they went without drums for Shipwreck and Gallery of Time since all the other dungeon themes sounded so much better with drums, and I think trekking through those dungeons would have been better with the beta versions as they could be quite tedious.

*raises hand Question! Question! So like, I've seen(and heard) the Wise Owl Alt. 1 and Shipwreck Alt.2 in youtube playlists waaaay before I even knew your channel, in fact I listened to Shipwreck Alt.1 for the first time on your Dark Cloud Iceberg. My question(s) is, where these songs were all this time? How they were found? And why some Beta songs (like Wise Owl Alt.1) were already out there, but these other alternate versions stayed hidden for so long? Sorry if these questions are super obvious and I'm just super out of the loop lol
Ay ay AlphaPHK, great talking to you again so soon! 😁✌🏼 I know exactly what you mean, for Shipwreck and Wise Owl Forst those two tracks in particular were out for about 10 or so years, I remember hearing them in 2010 on UA-cam not knowing what they were on the Operation Atla Facebook group we thought they were PAL version but now with hindsight we now know what they are; alternate musical takes created during development to see what track works best for the area.🎶 In regards to how those two tracks in particular were found 10 years ago, I believe someone in the mid 2000s must have dumped the game's soundtrack and got lucky with finding these two. I pulled these tracks out of the game in 2020 through using the game's Sound Debug Menu which gives you access to all of the games music; happy to have them finally properly preserved 💯
Ooh, so the songs were there, but were unable to be dumped normally? That explains why the Shipwreck Alt.1 contains a bit of "emulator lag" when I listen to the 1 hour version you posted! Amazing how you were able to find those! :D
Hey Rockowlgamer, welcome to my Dark Cloud Channel where we post NEW Dark Cloud videos EVERY month!🎉 I would absolutely love a new Dark Cloud game, what'd would you want from a Dark Cloud 3? 🌟👀
@@DarkCloudCompendium Well the first one was about defeating a dark genie and restoring the land he destroyed. The second one was about time travel from the present to the future helping the future towns by restoring/creating towns in the present. The 3rd one.......hmmmm. Well since we did time travel, why not parallel dimensions to represent space theme. Main character has to help his parallel universe self (could go the opposite gender world route to include a female cjharacter) to save both of their worlds or something. Of course the question is who is the villain, how they are making this problem, and why they're doing it. The biggest problem I see this game facing is how would restoring one world affect the other? Maybe say you plant something crucial that would help the parallel world survive like planting wheat or something special. That's just my idea, the gameplay will be like DC2 since that focused on 2 main characters and their 2 weapons instead of 6 who don't get enough time to develop. While Level 5 might not being able to make more games I hope someone will take up the mantle and try to give us DC3.
@@rockowlgamer631Wow I think that could work out really well! That sounds like the perfect Dark Cloud 3 I think dungeons in the past and present would be a great addition to the series, maybe even having time travel in the middle of the dungeon! I think Georama is really what makes Dark Cloud special! I would want them to go all out with the Georama, seeing Level 5 really improve the georama would be amazing as a lot of games focus on creation like Mine craft! It would be cool to for Level 5 to really expand the story and Lore for Dark Cloud as well! @@SedarothI think you hit the nail on the head with that description, Nishihura did a great job composing the game's soundtrack since it hits so many emotions all at once, I wish they would have kept these varient tracks for the backfloors at the very least 💯
As for Demon's Shaft while I don't have beta Music I do have a beta screenshot which I found unused in the game's data which shows the dungeon area looking quite different, more Greek inspired.
Will do a Demon's Shaft/ AGA video in October for sure 👀🌟
i remember the dran cave music from the dark cloud demo
Oh man that Dark Cloud demo was iconic, I kept trying to beat it to no avail 😂
Amazing that you found this mate amazing video!!

Gallery of Time is interesting, it would have been nice have those drums play when you are close to enemies and fighting them
Ay ay FlameCheese great to hear from you! Welcome back to our Dark Cloud Channel ✌🏼😁
I feel the same exact way, I believe maybe that's the reason why they were created or for backfloors before Level 5 got the time crunch to rush the game out for release 🤔
This is truly awesome, thank you for this, you know how much Nishiura' compositions are important to me. I really enjoy the alternative version of Gallery of Time!
Honestly I thought of you and other Dark Cloud inspired musicians like you when I first had this video idea, thank you! Nishihura and his work influenced so many of us and hearing these alternate mixes is like gazing through the looking glass at an alternate future 🌌

Gallery of Time was already my favorite dungeon theme, but my God that alternate version is badass!
Right agreed 101% that track in particular was my favorite out of this mix!

Sounds about right
That Gallery of Time Beta song I never knew existed and yet needed.
Would've totally fit being the dungeon version of the song while the version we have now be the "Seda ambience" for general scenes.
DAVIDKING! Such a cool user name haha! Great to hear from you again!

A lot of these tracks could have been used properly for limited zones or cutscene music, I'm not sure why they scrapped them entirely! I had these tracks for about 5 years before this video just thinking about a good way to compile them all together until now.
Ay ay it's MsDaBoss, great to hear from you again so soon! Thanks for checking out my Dark Cloud Channel, there's a lot of interesting Lost Media videos in our library to enjoy 🥳
Oh for sure, I think you hit the nail ont he head. I do wish they would have included the varients for use in the backfloors, it would have made those ominous areas more impactful if they had a subtle musical change to reflect the change in atmosphere 🤠
Bells in the beast cave theme sounds interesting.
There's vocals chantings in Sun and Moon temple theme in the final version?!?
The drums in Corridor of Time is very cool.
This is so badass. It could have been a song for another duel or something.
Kinda wish we had gotten to hear other beta tracks or so.
They sound like the same one from Demon's Shaft 👀
Wow! I really preferred the shipwreck and gallery of time alt versions! Wish they put them instead! I'm also thinking what use the initial victory theme hard originally...🤔 Btw good job as Always man! Cheers from Italy! 💪
Ay ay Pier! So great to hear from you! 😊✌🏼
I have to say I agree, out of the whole bunch I actually really like the alternate takes on Gallery of Time and Shipwreck; the added instruments help add a new sense of energy that was lacking from those tracks!
Cheers 🌟

A clear example of "better doesn't always mean right"
Sinking Ship had the perfect atmosphere to it even if I like the first Alt version better.
The gallery of time, I feel like it would make a better battle theme than level theme but damn is it good.
Hey GiantKukri, welcome to my Dark Cloud Channel where we post NEW Dark Cloud videos EVERY month 😁✌🏼

@@DarkCloudCompendium A sinking ship. It's weird, it's half the length of the other dungeon themes. It's just a sleepy little piano piece and yet it's the one that stuck with me.
It would have been interesting if you had the percussion/bass as a separate track and have it fade in when the enemy draws near.
@@ThaetusZainI think you hit the nail on the head with that description, Nishihura did a great job composing Shipwreck since it hits so many emotions all at once, I wish they would have kept these varient tracks for the backfloors at the very least 💯
@@DarkCloudCompendium so what do you think of Seda? I wonder if he was originally planned to have the bulkier swords in Toan's arsenal and Toan would have stuck with sabers like the Shamshir and lighter swords like the Bone Rapier?
this beautiful

It's really a wierd feeling hearing a Version of a Song that you know for years that is only slightly different but it somehow changes the entire song. Love the first alt. Version for Wise Owl Forest. Sounds even more calm and relaxing than the final Version.
The alt. Versions for Shipwreck sound like something that would play when encountering/fighting an enemy. Same with Gallery of Time. Cool stuff. :D
But where did you find all of these? Did someone dig up a Build of the game with these files?

Can I suggest a video series idea?
U trying to make your own spinoff of dark cloud 3 in RPG maker 1 2 or 3
?
@@DarkCloudCompendium they are roughly 10 dollars online each I think
It's so interesting to hear the originals. I'm surprised they went without drums for Shipwreck and Gallery of Time since all the other dungeon themes sounded so much better with drums, and I think trekking through those dungeons would have been better with the beta versions as they could be quite tedious.
Hey hey Daydreamingprincess, great to hear from you and welcome to my Dark Cloud Channel 😁

Question!
I know exactly what you mean, for Shipwreck and Wise Owl Forst those two tracks in particular were out for about 10 or so years, I remember hearing them in 2010 on UA-cam not knowing what they were on the Operation Atla Facebook group we thought they were PAL version but now with hindsight we now know what they are; alternate musical takes created during development to see what track works best for the area.🎶
In regards to how those two tracks in particular were found 10 years ago, I believe someone in the mid 2000s must have dumped the game's soundtrack and got lucky with finding these two.
Man I wish there was another Dark Cloud game
Hey Rockowlgamer, welcome to my Dark Cloud Channel where we post NEW Dark Cloud videos EVERY month!🎉
I would absolutely love a new Dark Cloud game, what'd would you want from a Dark Cloud 3?
That sounds like the perfect Dark Cloud 3
I think dungeons in the past and present would be a great addition to the series, maybe even having time travel in the middle of the dungeon!
What console would you like to see it on? 😄
I made Dark Cloud 3 with AI technology, the results were shocking and very cursed; check it out! 👀
