A year ago I was thinking "these guys are in a really hard situation and working it one day at a time" and I was suitably impressed. Now I'm in awe. Your daily grind to get your essentially derelict boat (and home!) seaworthy/safe/secure again is nothing short of inspiring. Hang in there - one day you'll tell this story to someone stuck in a boatyard far from their homeland and family that needs to know they really can dig deeper and push longer than they thought they could. People don't become an inspiration to others by living an easy life. You two are truly inspiring.
As someone who is really interested in sailing ( hello midlife crisis ?) these types of videos are actually invaluable, the raw reality of repair and refit, getting it right, doing repairs, watching the margins due to cost. Most channels just show the good times, i’m sure it’s hard for you now and you’re both putting on brave faces, but thank you for not sugar coating.
When it comes to boats KISS. The trouble that these two are having is due to manufacturers trying to make their boats stylish and sexy...with compound curves. Old fashioned metal framed windows might look boring, but they hold up and they're simple to change out. Don't be put off...just ask questions on how to minimize maintenance before you buy your boat.
As a Kiwi watching your videos is amazing and the ups and downs you two go through is an inspiration to all of us. You will both be glad to see the back of NZ by the time you are finished, but we have enjoyed having you.
That you can still laugh through the tears at all these difficulties and adversity shows your great strength of character and just how solid your relationship with each other is.
My heart sank when I saw the curvature of the NEW windows. Don't understand how they did that knowing you sent them your OLD windows. Love how you guys work together as a couple. You are a treat to watch,......I look forward to Sundays,.......and are my favorite channel.
Couldn't believe you were taking on the window project without a multi tool. The guy who donated it to you deserves to be in your ring of fame. You should sleep with it. You should establish a gofundme to get a constant supply of batteries! He moved you into the 21st century from the stone ages! The jillion screws you mess with will now be a pleasure. Good luck on future projects!
What a blow. I know you feel like getting back on the water is so far away now. Hang in there. You'll be back again soon. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. I enjoy living vicariously through you. I'm in lifelong cancer treatment and we joke about trying to live on the water and fly home for treatment every three weeks! Lol. Think I'll just watch you. Thank you again for sharing this. The good and the bad.
Because of your personalities, this ended up as one of your best videos. Yes sometimes life doesn't go as planned, but we all have a choice of how to feel about it, and how to deal with it and the way you guys deal with setbacks is an inspiration to all. Wishing you speedy progress the coming times :)
Thank you so much for having the courage to show the reality of your life… so many UA-cam creators just show unicorns and rainbows. It is nice to see both the good and the bad. I admire your pluckiness !!!
I agree and as a part time live aboard, I feel for you. Boat projects seem different than house projects. They can be so much more draining on the soul. Good on ya all for showing the reality of the situation.
11:08 And there she is, Nikki Wynn the Fighter, the skipper. A side we as the audience rarely get to see, yet its the one that explains why this whole operation works. Thanks for sharing this emotional moment. Keeping my fingers crossed for you two, it'll work out.
Endurance perseverance independence, with out a doubt sincerity! You guys are truly fabulous and a great example of what it take to succeed, not just succeed but adapt and overcome and conquer the obstacles that “Boat Life” puts in front of you. Thank you for your honesty and your ability to share the story with us! I can just sum this up by saying Spectacular!
Are you kidding? They are great people but absolutely the worst DIY blog out there. They could learn all the skills they lack by watching a few UA-cam videos
I have such empathy for both of you. I am glad I am a patron and can contribute in some way to helping you. Sending you love and support during this challenging time.
Multitools are the BEST. Things are quite sucky for you at the moment but I for one am cheering you on from this side of the world. Big hugs and much chocolate, you lovely people.
Bless your hearts!!! My heart sank when I saw the windows didn’t fit. You’re such a great couple and you work so hard. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. You always keep it real. Hang in there, better days ahead. Your friends in Canyon, Tx. are cheering you on..
"The sun'll come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar thqt tomorrow there'll be sun." Your positive attitudes and smiles are amazing and infectious! All the best...
Just a note when using Masking tape. UV will vulcanise the adhesive (turning it into rubber) and making it hard/impossible to remove. I'd suggest Nitto or similar PVC based DuctTape. maybe a visit to Bunnings Warehouse Whangarei
Thank you for being so open with your challenges.... all of us are navigating personal speedbumps, potholes and meltdowns ... and seeing the way you two keep a humor about it, and work together as you navigate your challenges is inspiring! Thank you for being so open with the good and the bad of the life you've built for yourselves.
I'm reminded of a Yiddish proverb that translates roughly as, "Man plans and God laughs." I can hardly wait to once again wish you fair winds and following seas. Until then keep on keepin' on!
The humming of the sander matching the key of the music at 4:30 made this old marching band nerd extremely happy. Kudos to you two for your continuous optimism in the face of adversity, and for always managing to inspire and entertain all of us.
Hey guy’s, don’t get down things happen for a reason. I’ve done lots of replacement side windows on pleasure boats, during my career in the Marine business up in Vancouver BC. Personally I didn’t like seeing you install the new windows without blackening out the frames, this process is well worth the effort, trust me. Sand the area’s clean and prime the surface’s with Awl Grip 545 Grey epoxy primer. It’s already quite dark but you can add a black pigment. I quite often brush or spray applied AwlGrip black polyurethane over the top of the primer, doing this you don’t need to add black pigment to the grey 545 epoxy primer. The boat yard May no this method also, now why. By making the surface black there is less chance to see any air bubbles in the bonding process, this can happen for sure. This will really make you cry if they’re there, trust me, you only have one shot. Who am I you ask? I’m from Christchurch NZ, left home at 23 in 78 for Nth America and landed in Vancouver early 79. I started my own Yacht repair business and ran it for nearly 40 years, I’m retired up in kelowna BC. I’m sure you passed that way with your motor home, actually I meet you both at a RV show in Abbotsford BC, in the TradeX building. Anyway you won’t be disappointed if you go this route. Cheers, Murray Ashworth
Right on Murray. I have made Prototype Experimental Aircraft from Blueprints for Cessna. We used MEK to remove all residue, before making any part or attaching it, sealing the Wet Wing Fuel Tanks, etc. Your advice is Excellent! Know Kelowna, Ainsworth Hot Springs; Vancouver Island, fished off there for Salmon. Stayed at Oak Bay Marine at Ucluelet, etc. Love B.C.
Great advice Murray!! And from someone with the experience! Too bad that they've already passed that stage of the project, since their videos are posted a couple of weeks after the fact.
Good point Murray, I had wondered about that, watching them do it i was thinking, "Are they really going to get enough black caulk in there to prevent the white mess showing through?" Please paint the area first Wynns! it will look ghastly otherwise!
You two have a rare ability to bounce when things don't go as planned. That's a supper power, embracing a problem and coming up smiling is not in everyones forte'.
I hope the sail company appreciates the fact that you can broadcast their name to half a million viewers interested in sailing. They should do the right thing.. Whatever that could be at this point. Sad. Hope things turn around soon! Cheers.
Yes! ...but I also can't believe that they paid for these without anything to show for it! I'm a strictly 1/2 up front, and the balance on completion. That's how I run my business, and to me, it's the only fair way to do things. Sure hope they get this resolved before the next video!
Thanks for the video. I love that you two not only show the smooth sailing, beautiful sunsets and wonderful people along the way, but also the challenges, disappointments and frustrations of real life. It's refreshing to see the bad with the good at times to show that we're not the only ones that have daily problems to solve. We all need an occasional meltdown followed by a sundowner and comfort food to help us get through life's challenges. Wishing you the best as we watch you navigate the rough seas of life toward the fantastic anchorages ahead.
Another tool suggestion: some of those big suction cup handles that window and countertop installers use. I think they would be the sort of thing that would have lots of uses on a boat with all those smooth surfaces.
Seconding this! My team uses bike-rack suction cups for attaching instrumentation to test vehicles; they're fantastic. I have the most experience with the single-cup style with the 1/4-20 thread (we screw 3 or 4 of these to a custom mount), but the dual-cup style with a handle in the middle might be better for boat work.
OOMMMGG you will not regret having that tool - IT IS MY BEST FRIEND in construction . LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Just take as many days as you need to mentally and physically take care of yourselves. It seems like you are in the storm right now and when you come out the other side, you will be stronger and will be able to take on anything. Do not worry about crying or complaining, sometimes you just need to VENT and then move on. I think you too are great. TAKE TIME TO VENT!!!
When I watch your videos for the most part it shows much of the good life and a little bit of the frustration. I’m sure you have some very frustrating and deflating situations that we don’t see. With this video we see a little bit of the very bad days and I think it adds value to your story. It also shows how resilient you both are. So people may give up but I think you both know that the hard work and frustration will pay off with the adventures you experience. We, your UA-cam friends see those adventures every week and we thank your for that. While we don’t actually experience your really bad days, I think we feel your pain and are with you in spirit! Keep up the good fight and thank you for your great adventures and also every day stories.😎
Your attitudes are to be admired! I am so sorry for all the repair you keep having to make! Despite all you have been going through , I look forward to watching your blog when I want to relax! Which says even more how wonderful you two are! Praying this will end soooon!
I'm building a house right now and I totally feel you with the "why can't anything go to plan" feelings. Nothing's easy, especially right now. I have to remember to zoom out from the day to day details and look at the overall progress - because even though it's hard, it's getting somewhere. I'm glad you're now able to get all the windows done!
Constantly amazed at the Wynns' DIY abilities. We're going though renovations right now - we have no bathroom, just an outdoor temporary shower. (Fortunately toilet has own room.) Today an engineer came to look where the old (leaky) shower was, to determine whether the existing concrete floor is 'flaky' and will to have to be ripped up and replaced. Waiting for the bad news, but optimistic for the bathroom of our dreams! (Oh, and the garden tap providing water to the temporary shower is now leaking. 🙄)
The Wynns: The weather is nice, we're joking about caulk, we're drinking beer, it's the perfect day Murphy's Law: *Yeah, uh, about that....* (windows don't fit) *Oh and by the way, you're getting a crazy storm soon. You're welcome* "It's not supposed to rain but you know, famous last words around here" love how self-aware of your bad luck you are at this point. I keep joking about Murphy's Law but you really can't seem to catch a break. I feel really bad for y'all! But like the famous saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. A little progress each day adds up to results. The great thing about guava is all its uses from beer to pastries (or as us Cubanos call them, pastelitos con queso), agua fresca, and even baby back ribs (my personal favorite)! Guava baby back ribs is the result of a Chinese-Cuban fusion (a dying fusion unfortunately). Chinese laborers originally immigrated to Cuba to work in the sugar fields in the 1830s, and the mixing of the culture they brought with what's available locally resulted in a new fusion to form. At one point in time, Havana was home to the largest Chinatown in Latin America.
“There’s no crying in sailing”....our eyes swelled up with tears. Being full time cruisers of 5 years, we know your pain! Our days are rarely what we plan. Xo
Really sucks, but there is always a hidden positive. Sometimes we never even see it’s benefit and how it changes the world. Maybe a delay with the windows prevented a terrible outcome later on down the road! Y’all hang in there, keep hammering!
*Just remember it will all be worth it! Sunday Coffee went well! I'm realizing you are the only S/V couple that consistently brings high-quality original flavor from the beginning. Just saying thank you for the years and for making you my favorite couple to live through vicariously, hopefully, in this lifetime we will meet one day.*
You have no idea how much i look forward to this "porthole" into your lives! If i were to approximate your adventures to episodes of Flash Gordon, as a factor of anticipation dictated by the depression upon a populace i would not be far from the truth! Thank You!
You set an example of how to react to adverse events and that is gold for me currently and probably for many. A big thank you! 🙏 Your positive attitude despite the challenges you are facing is truly inspiring. You are a though couple 👍
Knowing what was coming, it was heartbreaking watching all that prep work! You guys have endured with a smile since the start of the pandemic and it has to be getting harder by the minute. It will pass. You will be stronger, and you are making a difference by sharing the journey.
Thank you for keeping it real. I love how you show the reality of boat life and not just a glamorous version of it. You two are amazing and sending much love from Missouri.
Jason, Nikki, Keep counting those blessings in sundowner-quality lemonade when life hands you lemons, as the cows come home. Bacardi Gold also has a bat on the bottle, like the one you rescued the last time you were on the hard in Va'vau. Makes a good marinade in a breakfast pastry's fruit filling over morning coffee. When the time comes to sell Curiosity, all these boat project videos will be worth it: They document the care you've shown. Blessings, S/V "Windwalker"
When life seems to be pulling you back, it’s because it’s getting ready to shoot you into something amazing. Like a slingshot. Thanks for the videos showing what life is really like for you guys.
You guys are so inspiring. Don't fret, you're in the best place in the world. Breathe. All will be well. At least you're not at sea for all this poor weather. Stick with it. I love your videos and they're the best part of my week.
This was one of my favorite GWTW episodes and I have been watching a looooong time. If you want to know the stuff that Team Wynn is made of, here’s the proof! Thank you for showing us how to plow through the storms that inevitably come our way. Bless you for sharing so much with us! Good thoughts and prayers for sunshine and good times to come. And until then...good chocolate, good beer and good rum! Cheers to you both! ❤️❤️
My first post on any UA-cam video. Love your videos and the constant positivity you display. Having had my own boats for over 30 years, I know windows are a constant source of trouble. Just keep at I, you know what you’re doing, it will all come right in the end. You must be mightily miffed about your sails. Unfortunately many in the marine trade seem to play by different rules. I look forward to your next video, thanks for sharing with us.
It's the mental stress that will wear you down for sure. I think you guys are handling those trying situations very well. You have some awesome memories stashed away and I hope that at the end of a trying day you can pull a couple of those wonderful experiences up so you can go to sleep with a smile. From you East Texas friends take care.
I have wanted to cry along with yall!! Life can be really discouraging at times. It is so hard to not spiral down into despair. Yes, it's just boat life but it is your home! Love to see you encourage each other to rise above it together. Thanks for not feeling pressure to sugar coat boat life. It certainly has highs and lows, like anything and your work is actually interesting to watch.
You guys are the real deal. I so appreciate your authenticity. Sometimes life is hard and it's hard to be positive. You guys somehow manage the squeeze out every inch of optimism you can muster, even when it seems impossible. Praying for favor in all your situations, that God would lead and guide and provide for you!
You know I follow you because I think you two are the most amazing, sweet, kind people with a fantastic journey. I am so sorry for the bumps and bruisers along the way. I hate to see you guys upset. Life's lemons are a lot sometimes. Hang in there you guys. Sending you lots and lots of prayers that things get back to going smoothly very soon. ❤❤❤ Love from Texas!!
Oh my heart is hurting for you both! I don’t know how you guys can still be smiling! You both deserve so much better than what you have been given recently! I’m so sorry you are running into one frustrating situation after another. I’m sending you TONS and TONS of good juju! Hopefully things will get better. Looking forward to seeing your next video with, hopefully, good news on the horizon!
My Goodness. You guys are fabulous. Been watching from when you first took to the seas and your journey and your relationship and attitudes to life (and Chocolate / Rum / Coffee / Beer) are so lovely and so incredibly inspiring. None of us are perfect, but you guys are thoroughly good and decent human beings - and every time I see your videos, you bring a smile to my day… Thank you.
I could see the upset in your eyes, Nikki, but you still smiled for us. So did Jason. Your disappointment brought tears to my eyes. Bless both of you. You're such decent people and I love watching you for that reason. Warm sunny days and a return to sailing are just around the corner.
❤️❤️Love how you handle everything that’s thrown at you! Make lemonade out of lemons! Never get tired of your videos, sorry you are going through some difficult times. Can’t wait to see you splash again!
I really feel for the both of you. In tough times I always say... "...and this too shall pass..." then get on with whatever is the challenge(s). I really hope you both have a great week, your so deserving of it.
The old "If things can go wrong they WILL go wrong" scenario....happens to the best of us! And a good "off screen rant" can be a lifesaver at times! Release the pressure and reset, and then carry on as best you can. In a nutshell, that's life for most of us as well. Thanks for taking the time and extra effort to share with us such a challenging episode.
@@gatorickc1274 yep...and this falls under the "Johnson's corollary" aspect of that law...where if you have a 50/50 chance of things going right or wrong....95% of the time they will go wrong!
I think this is why sailors are described as intrepid, it takes a special kind of mind set to sail the seas, stubborn stick to it, can do attitude. Bless you both for trying to keep a positive attitude, but I'd be on the floor. You're an inspiration, and honestly hoping things improve and start coming together easier. Alas for us viewers we watch the good and the bad and in between happily because we are fans hah!
I love this video! You’re getting your asses kicked in every way imaginable, and yet, you are resilient. The honesty is endearing. Also, Jason wearing that hat and glasses and commenting on the cows moving….best part of the video. LMAO.
You guys are the only sailing channel I can watch where maintenance is fun to watch. I so wish these videos were longer. haha. You two are such a great team.
🥺 Gotta say, this global supply chain issue is hitting us hard around the world in so many ways that we've never had to think of before. You guys are an inspiration. Hang in there. 🙏🙏🙏
Influx of cheap Chinese made products is the supply chain problem. China is still classed as a developing nation therefore the UN subsidies their export costs, with free postage of products to other countries. Developed nations freight and postal/delivery services cannot keep up or make a profit from deliveries, therefore the backlogs.
Watching Nikki holding back the tears after the windows didn't fit almost made ME cry. But the somewhat recovery of emotions at the end made me feel better too. So much work even when things go well, that it's such an emotional drain when they don't. You guys are tough. Oh, and, YAY Multitool!
“Out of life’s school of war, what doesn’t kill me will make me stronger” Friedrich Nietzsche 1888. I suspect Friedrich was a boat owner. Nikki and Jason, your resilience and perseverance is an inspiration to many of us…carry on!!!
I think you are handling this so well. 2 years of isolation from friends and family. Give yourselves a hug and have a couple of sundowners ,take a deep breath and continue on things will turn around .Dale and Marsha
You guys are intrepid and positive people. You meet every set back with action. You don't sit down and cry in your beer and give up. You are an inspiration of can do spirit. Something the world is berft of right now. I pray you will get a breather of tough luck.
Aww Wynns! One step forward 3 steps back! I cant imagine how your feeling! Im shocked at the sails! It can only get better so sending prayers and positive energy your way! Thanks for being real as always! TeamCuriousity!🤙🤙
My wife and I talked about it after watching this video. We both feel that this was probably your most inspiring video that we have seen. Throughout all the problems, you keep on going because it is worth it in the end. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nikki and Jason, you have become such a regular part of our weekly lives with you new videos and daily lives when we watch the older ones over and over. Thank you both so much for sharing your journey with all of us; not only the victories, but the steps back as well. The happiness and joy you bring to our lives is NEVER unnoticed and NEVER unappreciated. Thank you and we love you!
We have a saying here in UK, patience is a vertu possess it if you can, seldom found in women and never in a man. On the other hand I think you both deserve a medal.
Rest easy knowing you’re that much closer to a job well done and almost as important is we your adoring audience have been thoroughly entertained!!! 😍😍😍Thank You Both!!
You guys are kicking butt and am very proud of you. So nice you'll be able to get all the windows done when you get them and as the weather allows. Hopefully you can get all the parts you need. I'd stay put until you're 100% satisfied with All You have on your list.
One large tarp from rail to rail over the boom and make a tent to keep the bulk of the rain off. Painting around the window opening black will give a cleaner look after you install the new windows. And yea, it will always rain when you want to work on windows be that on a boat or a house.
Ohhh, I cried for you! 😢 So frustrating about the windows and weather. Its ok for you to show emotion and frustration, I would expect you to be so so upset. You don’t need to be strong for us, we got your back!
When it looks like you getting ahead, karma has to show up and says, "Nope, not this time." One day all the projects will be finished and we can sail and explore with you again.
Sounds like a lot of frustration came to a point in the last few weeks!! My dad's been experiencing a string of bad luck too. Allowed to be mad about it and then move on!! You got this!
Nikki: Okay... *(slaps chocolate)* Chocolate bar: What did I do? I'm innocent Why is Jack Sparrow's rum gone? Apparently it's because the Wynns took it all
Ok, some other channels give you only the "envy us as we sit and drink wine and watch the sunset over a placid clear blue sea near a tropical island show.. Thanks for the honest "welcome to the Sh!+show" side of cruising. You two are awesome and we love ya.
Why don't you have the starter rebuilt? You could cannibalize parts from something similar if all else fails. I am sure there is an electrical supply store or a mechanical shop that deals with farm equipment, generators, trash pumps, etc that could rebuild it or supply parts.
Hello there, just a suggestion for the window sealing tape from 8:40. Start your installation on the bottom. If there is any moisture migrating through or the sealent during the window installation you won´t have the gap in the foam on the top. Keep up the good work and your spirit.
Hang in there, guys. You control what you can control. The rest will work itself out one way or another. You're safe (albeit a bit wet) and things could always be worse. Keep perspective.
That which does not kill you will make you stronger ! Others wouldve been dead already, I admire your strength ! This WILL pass and you'll look back on this and laugh, ok maybe not. But least twill be in the past, the windows and the entire boat will be done ! Dont give up, just take breaks. I so appreciate you showing us the reality !!!!
That discrepancy is appalling given that the samples were provided. They will replace them much faster than a month, in fabrication, the actual work only takes a few days because they always have backlog work you need to be in a queue.... For a screwup like this, you will jump the queue because it should be a priority to fix the mistakes. I can't imagine why they thought it was ok... Did they ignore your samples and just use some other templates? Makes no sense...... Love your videos/adventures.
It is not surprising, so many people could care less about what the are doing as long as they get a check. Management should not of let them leave the facility without verifying they are correct anyway. The first thing I would of done is trial fit them before doing anything else but then I sold parts for 25 years.
I am so sorry for you guys. I know how it feels.... I pray all goes much better and they get you back you new windows and they fit right in..... Almost got me in tears for you two....
I just found your channel and have enjoyed every video so far. I'm a Texan also and really admire your courage and drive to pursue your dream lifestyle. You have such positive attitudes and seem to really enjoy sailing...all the good, bad and ugly. I look forward to seeing many more adventures.
awhhh you guys are just troopers and i feel so bad for your unexpected and testing circumstances, well done you for being such reasonable humans and rolling with the puches and keeping your cool. love your vids and best wishes for the future.
I love the fact that even though you guys are going through some stuff , you’re still maintaining your smiles, The good lord only gives us what we can handle :-)
I know your boat repairs were likely very stressful and disruptive to your live, but thank you for sharing. Watching all the projects come together has been so much fun to watch & encouraging me to get moving on my own projects. ❤❤❤
I applaude you guys for not only showing the „sunny side“ of boating, but also the reality of maintenance and repair work that we all face, including the frustration related to dependency on suppliers, despite your efforts to informed them correctly in advance. Don‘t give up and make sure that there‘s some chocolate around…
The two of you have done an amazing job of keeping your spirits up over the last two years in the face of one large challenge after the other, frequently with no clear light at the end of the tunnel. The frustrations from the current challenges must be understood in the context of all you have been through. I think there is not a construction or manufacturing project in the world that is not now delayed, sometimes indefinitely. Yesterday, I saw that one of the Class B RV upfitters is no longer accepting customer ordered models and will build only for dealer stock. Why? With manifold parts shortages, it's all but impossible to guarantee the exact final content of a new build. We are paying the price for squeezing every last penny out of the global supply chain over the last 30 years: everything running tight as can be when things are going well. Throw a wrench or two into the works and you get the never ending delays we are seeing today. I do believe that New Zealand is the very friendliest English speaking country in the world. I hope that you will be able to do more touring (a la your anniversary trip) and see the many natural beauties of NZ and enjoy its warm, friendly people while supply delays iron themselves out. Sooner or later, the world will get back to a new steady state and we can all then get back on our then new plans.
Remember, it’s the journey not the destination that makes life amazing. If that’s not inspiring enough. Just remember what Joe Dirt said, Life’s a garden, dig it !! Lol. See ye next week. 👍
Greetings fromAlabama. Thanks for showing the nitty gritty of boat life. Your endurance and perseverance are worthy of the explorers who have preceded you. Excelsior!
Lightning strikes are no problem if your boat is properly grounded.

Yes sometimes life doesn't go as planned, but we all have a choice of how to feel about it, and how to deal with it and the way you guys deal with setbacks is an inspiration to all. Thank you so much for having the courage to show the reality of your life… so many UA-cam creators just show unicorns and rainbows. It is nice to see both the good and the bad. I admire your pluckiness !!!
I totally agree. Thank you both for being so real.
They have said in a past video that Nikki is the captain and Jason is the skipper
Stop kissing arse .
When worlds collide - Hi!!
I'm actually shocked they didn't have one before this, crazy!!!
DAVE !!!!!!
@@WelshVilliageDad I think he was attempting to lift their spirits. You know, acknowledging their struggles and then showing support.
The reality and “meltdowns” keep it real. Hearing and seeing the bad with the good makes the videos better, IMO.
Bless your hearts!!! My heart sank when I saw the windows didn’t fit. You’re such a great couple and you work so hard. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. You always keep it real. Hang in there, better days ahead. Your friends in Canyon, Tx. are cheering you on..
WTSU loved my time there
"The sun'll come out tomorrow.
Cheers,
Murray Ashworth
@@trudymccann3671 Thx Trudy for the nice compliment.
Where are you located?
@@trudymccann3671 acetone is a much safer solvent than Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
Good point Murray, I had wondered about that, watching them do it i was thinking, "Are they really going to get enough black caulk in there to prevent the white mess showing through?"
Please paint the area first Wynns! it will look ghastly otherwise!
Yep suction cups have come along way's, we use them regularly in aerospace now. So easy to use.
The Wynns: The weather is nice, we're joking about caulk, we're drinking beer, it's the perfect day
Murphy's Law: *Yeah, uh, about that....*
(windows don't fit)
*Oh and by the way, you're getting a crazy storm soon. You're welcome*
"It's not supposed to rain but you know, famous last words around here" love how self-aware of your bad luck you are at this point.
It’s a beautiful day when you post a new video!
❤
Right, Now Everything is changed. Thank goodness. Exta expenses, very expensive storage cost and others.
Thank You!
It's your #Wynning attitude that keeps you on an even keel. Chocolate, booze & coffee can make things better! Sending lots of love!
You set an example of how to react to adverse events and that is gold for me currently and probably for many. A big thank you! 🙏
Your positive attitude despite the challenges you are facing is truly inspiring.
Jason, Nikki,
Keep counting those blessings in sundowner-quality lemonade when life hands you lemons, as the cows come home.
Blessings,
S/V "Windwalker"
"This is more of a rum situation." Couldn't have said it better myself. You both are awesome.
💙💛💙
Where I come from we call this “Murphy’s Law”
@@gatorickc1274 yep...and this falls under the "Johnson's corollary" aspect of that law...where if you have a 50/50 chance of things going right or wrong....95% of the time they will go wrong!
Years ago I learned to never say “what else can go wrong”, you will find out.
MURPHY....the old master of disaster always sticks his fingers in and stirs up disaster when you least expect it
I think this is why sailors are described as intrepid, it takes a special kind of mind set to sail the seas, stubborn stick to it, can do attitude.
Oh my gosh Niki!! I'm SO SORRY!! Chocolate and beer helps for sure. AND Rum yes!
You guys are intrepid and positive people. You meet every set back with action. You don't sit down and cry in your beer and give up. You are an inspiration of can do spirit. Something the world is berft of right now. I pray you will get a breather of tough luck.
Perhaps a modified boom tent made from a blue tarp would help to keep the water off while you guys are working outside?
What an amazing attitude you both have, love your videos keep going you'll get there
Nikki and Jason, you have become such a regular part of our weekly lives with you new videos and daily lives when we watch the older ones over and over.
Long distance hug from South Carolina. Love you guys and can't wait to see you happy when all the problems get resolved.
You guys are an incredible team. 💗🙏💗 really make the best of a tough situation. Crunch time you all make it happen.. 💗👍💗
Ohhh, I cried for you! 😢 So frustrating about the windows and weather. Its ok for you to show emotion and frustration, I would expect you to be so so upset. You don’t need to be strong for us, we got your back!
When it looks like you getting ahead, karma has to show up and says, "Nope, not this time."
One day all the projects will be finished and we can sail and explore with you again.
Sounds like a lot of frustration came to a point in the last few weeks!! My dad's been experiencing a string of bad luck too. Allowed to be mad about it and then move on!! You got this!
Nikki: Okay...

Chocolate bar: What did I do? I'm innocent
Why is Jack Sparrow's rum gone?
I think we need to send the two of to drought stricken regions around the world and have you a work on windows. It's bound to rain if you do 😁
Good things are coming around the corner for you! Hang in there!!!!
My thoughts exactly, they must have used a different leopard window template. 🤦🏻♀️
Of did the one month delay of getting to their boat cause an unexpected change? Just a thought.
I hope you hold on to your original windows until the very last window is installed and leak-proof.
I agree! No person looking at their actual windows and what the shop created would think they would fit.
Love the normal speed sounds of work over the hyper lapse sanding segment!
Nice technique!!
Good stuff!!!

I just found your channel and have enjoyed every video so far. I'm a Texan also and really admire your courage and drive to pursue your dream lifestyle. You have such positive attitudes and seem to really enjoy sailing...all the good, bad and ugly. I look forward to seeing many more adventures.
Great video. Not here to see perfect life, here to see you two over come the stuff that comes with a nomadic life.
awhhh you guys are just troopers and i feel so bad for your unexpected and testing circumstances, well done you for being such reasonable humans and rolling with the puches and keeping your cool. love your vids and best wishes for the future.
The reality and frustrations of boatwork is an essential part of cruising. Thank you for sharing.
I applaude you guys for not only showing the „sunny side“ of boating, but also the reality of maintenance and repair work that we all face, including the frustration related to dependency on suppliers, despite your efforts to informed them correctly in advance. Don‘t give up and make sure that there‘s some chocolate around…
Youre gonna have amassive sense of achievment once your done!!
@Bobb Grimley yes I know, thats why I typed it!
Just remember what Joe Dirt said,
Life’s a garden, dig it !! Lol.
See ye next week. 👍
Greetings fromAlabama. Thanks for showing the nitty gritty of boat life. Your endurance and perseverance are worthy of the explorers who have preceded you. Excelsior!
