- BREAKDOWN EP: 11: The karambit (or kerambit) is a popular bladed within Southeast Asia. It was designed to rip and cut like the the tiger's claws and teeth. A very dangerous weapon in the hands of a skilled practitioner.

"just take whatever you can get" that just changed my perspective on knife fighting
That was a fantastic demonstration of how to utilize a Karambit . Thank you or sharing.
Thank you, we appreciate the comment. Let us know if you want us to cover other topics.
Wow! A karambit video that actually showed practical techniques. I hate all the flipping BS. That just tells me you were never in a real knife fight. Nobody would waste their time doing that. And...you can hold the karambit in a saber grip. To me that makes it more like a claw. Sick of the flashy BS. Thank you for a good video.
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciate it. We try to separate the art from the practicality. Movies and catchy gimmicks showing the fancy twirls is used to draw people in. So many untrained people wanting to look cool. I've seen a few cut themselves because they were twirling it around and whoops, they get clawed.
Best karambit video on UA-cam broske
Thanks a lot. Been getting push back, about legalities of this. True, but it's good to train in all variations: weapon vs weapon, empty hand vs weapon.
I think this was the best guide in youtube how to use or attack using karambit. Great tutorial. On point 💯
Thank you, we're not trying to be "Hollywood" with our information, except our documentaries (LOL!). We can and do all the cool flips with Karambit, but like what Guro Inosanto says, "what looks good on camera isn't really practical in real life, and what's practical in reality doesn't look good on camera."
Karambit from indonesia from etnic minangkabau
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for your continued support.
Awesome breakdown and keeping it simple fellas. The karambit is one of the most damaging/dangerous blades. If the person doesn’t know what they’re doing, it can injure the user too. Saw that girl online flipping a karambit in the forest while trying to look cute, and she ends up cutting herself 🤦🏽♂️
Thanks for your support, yeah we saw that video. People try and copy what they see in movies and other UA-cam videos. That's results in injuries. That's why we always put a disclaimer on all of our videos.
That’s a dangerously damaging weapon. Cutting and ripping = a lot of pain and mayhem.
We've seen small video and clips and photos of Karambit victims online. It's not a pretty sight.
FMA Pulse I’ve seen those videos too. Looks like the victim was attacked by an actual tiger.
@@FMAPulse I'm a Filipino and very much interested in it... actually I even made a homemade karambit...I had an experience in Arnis/Eskrima... Thankful I found your video... New subscriber here..💪💪💪🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thanks sir
Love it.
Thanks, what did you like about it?
@@FMAPulse The explanations were clear. The movement explained in a simple way. You made it pretty non-intimidating.
Walang katulad..
I think karambit for pencak silat from Minang kabau people in Indonesian ?
Yeah, I believe the karambit was first discovered in Indonesia but...Kali loves bladed weapons!
Thanks for the instructions. Great video
Not a problem.👍
Great video, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Great demonstration of some karambit basics. The flipping show (like with a Balisong) might make an attacker reconsider, but if it’s already on… I’m in the don’t see but feel the blade camp
Thank you, there's the demo that awe's the audience, and the basic practicality of it. There's a lot of videos that like to show the "Hollywood" stuff with the karambit.
@@FMAPulse true story. ;)
It is my observation that there are no Federal Laws prohibiting double edge Karambits or any other double edge knife in the United States. I'm not a lawyer and can't give legal advice.
I'm interested in seeing the legislation/law that you are referring to though.
Thanks for the video by the way. I still enjoyed it.
❤🎉AMAZING SLALAMAT MUCHAS GRACIAS
De nada. Use this knowledge responsibly.
That’s how you end up in jail lol. “The guy threw a punch and the other guy slit his throat.”
This is a good demonstration. Waiting for the unexpected next move so that you can do the right counter attack 🙂
Thank you, it's counter offensive minded. Not looking for trouble, but able to react when it comes to you.
Good video, master doesn't go on fancy moves, just up and down, and that's more than enough with that evil karambit
Thank you, but we're not masters. We're just training and improving ourselves. For those who want to train and learn from us, we're more than happy to teach. We've learned all the fancy moves as well. We just analyzed the practicality within art.
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Hello good video you have. By the way what part of Chicago are you from? I currently live in the west suburb of Carol Stream
Thank you. Jessie was in the Northside of Chicago near Wrigleyville. But he as relocated to Arizona. Mike is still in the Skokie and Evanston area. Contact either one of them via Facebook or Instagram.
You’re very welcome. Also, try to create a video of the Karambit Vs the straight bladed knife. This video must include how to counter attack with the good guy using the Karambit and the bad guy uses the straight bladed knife
Do you recommend any vendors to get a karambit from?
Yes, we just finished speaking with GM Bram Frank. It's a modern, yet functional approach to the old design. Here's a link to his blades:

Double edge blades are not illegal in all the states. You can carry a double edge knife here in Colorado.
That's good news. It varies from state to state.
I’m guessing they are in comifornia
I dont know if you realise it but your mannerisms are very similar to Tuhon Ray...😉
Thanks, I appreciate it. Tuhon Ray and I are both introverted personality wise. People say I also have an Inosanto style teaching method as well. When I cross train with various Guro's and Grandmasters, their teaching methods rub off on me :)
He tries to punch you and you rip his throat? Well done, you’re now in prison
Naw you can flip your karambit as a striking weapon. It's very disorienting and very very painful. Quite capable of stunning someone.
You also run the risk of the karambit flying out of your hand if you don't have control. Too many times have I heard trainer karambit hit the ground because people were twirling it too much and it flies off of their finger.
@@FMAPulse only an idiot sits there and twirls that shit around. its a controlled swing. bop.
