I use chop sticks to get my tips out, they work great and are free from the Chinese restaurant. I eventually purchased some good ones to keep in my sewing box. The other ones work great to see if you like to use them. 🙂
This is what I do! The last pack of FiberFill I bought actually had a stick included in the bag for turning!

Love your gnomes. The trick to cutting fur is to snip the backing. Your scissors will be under the fur. I learned this when I took a class in making teddy bears.
This is what I do, too! It makes the fur thicker, as none of it gets cut......

I use an xacto knive and just cut the backing. Works great

Very cute! I love making all kinds of gnomes also. I have never cut my fur with scissors. I was taught to use a razor blade to cute the backing only so the fur cuts clean. I learn something new every day. I will have to try it out. Thanks for sharing your technique.

Lorie, these gnomes are adorable and just the perfect accent or gift for Valentine's Day. You chose such soft wonderful fabric. You have done a great job in craftsmanship as well. Much better than the hot glue. I made gnomes for Christmas and hot-glued the hats and it was very hard. Stitching them is much better and looks nicer. Way to go!

Very cute! Just a tip when cutting fur - cut only through the backing by carefully sliding your scissors through the fur, making small snips along the way, OR use a craft knife to cut the backing. This eliminates excess fur from being cut off.

There's a way to cut the fur so you don't cut the fur off you cut under the fur gogol it' it's not hard to do love your gnomes
