I've just in the last few days gotten interested in learning to make gnomes, and already it has become an addiction for me! LOL This is the second video I've seen of someone adding string along with the rubber bands. It's the FIRST one I've seen do the nose this way. I like it! Now I gotta try it.
Just a tip, I think it's easier to add the rice to the uncut sock first, then put the rubber band on, then cut the top off where you need it. We love these!! A friend of mine and I are both gnome crazy!!!
Do not understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down, you did a great job. For a first time tutorial it was clear and concise...........well done.
What a clever idea incorporating the nose into the sock. Better than having to make a separate nose & attach it. THese are the cutes gnomes I've seen on youtube.
Seen lots of gnomes handmade and I love some of them...but yours are so gorgeous and look store bought. You did an amazing job on the gnome and the tutorial WOW... I love gnomes that are not tacky like alot of diy ones are. Yours are fantastic Thank you for doing this and thank you because now I can finally stop searching for a decent tutorial.
Thank you for the vid...you made it so simple...and cost effective...looking to have a bunch of inmates make these and donate to the elderly that are in homes for the holidays!
You are a fantastic teacher! You explain WHY you do what you do and you show it. These are darling and I'm going to get on it! Merry Ho Ho Ho to your house, from ours, with gratitude.
Really cute. Going to make some of these for next year. This year I did snowmen. A little tip... a lint roller is great for getting any bits of Styrofoam, fur and hot glue strings off of your table and off of the craft you're making.
I recently went to a craft show and I saw a lady with a booth, with these CUTE gnomes.. I had to buy one! I see them more and more now. I will definitely be making these
Your video is awesome! I had a little thought- when you tried the embroidery thread around the nose (leave the tails at the bottom) you could take a large eyed needle and run the thread through the nose. Where the nose hole would be on the bottom of each side - thread the needle up to the top of the nose and tie it off. It would create little nose holes. Wow that was hard to explain in words! Again you created a fantastic video!!
How CUTE!! you decorated these. I swe this last year a bit too late on another channel, but I'm so glad I checked for new ones, & found yours. Thanks for sharing your creativity & ideas. So inspiring. I'm goin' to the Dollar Store.
OMG! I love this little gnome, I'm going to make one of my own. So glad I found your tutorial, there are so many different things you can add to him to just make him even more adorable! Thank you this is awesome.
Elaine C. What a wonderful " Gnome class". Your Gnome came out great and I think I will give it a try. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with others.
This is really good. At least you show that you make mistakes. Helps the stress lol. I've not seen anyone NOT glue the nose. I may have to try that. Thanks again, keep up the good work!
These are so cute. I’ve made snowmen using same idea, I fill the sock to desired height and then cut the sock. So much easier that struggling with rice.
OMG....I absolutely loved your video and how beautiful your gnomes came out. Love your technique of teaching, my grand babies love gnomes and so do my neighbors kids. I think I will do my first one that size but I would love to make a giant one, they are normally very expensive. Thank you so much, can’ wait to see what else you make.
I wanted to Thank you for such an amazing tutorial video! I’ve spent the last week gathering all the supplies needed to make these adorable gnomes and I just started making them this morning with my kids to give as gifts this Christmas! You really did a great job explaining everything! I’d love to see more videos from you!! Thank you!!
I only put enough rice in the bottom to stabilize it and fill the rest with fiber fill, I am going to mailing some of these so it makes them lighter!! Wooden bead for the nose also works out well as I forgot to make the nose!! LOL either way they are adorable, thank you for sharing!!! I glue a large pom pom on the tip of the hat too! Also I made the mistake of buying the fur that is precut and on a stiff backing, went back to JoAnn's and bought the fabric kind, messier but much nicer, fluffier beard!! I just started using paper party hats instead of the styrofoam, much cheaper!!
These little guy's are sooo adoreable!!!! I am gonna try an make some for Christmas, it is amazing just how they almost come to life, when, you finish making them...you, are fantastic, at making these little guy's...Thanks, for sharing an showing me, an other crafter's just how to make these! God, bless you, an ur's, an hope, you have a blessed Christmas in 21'....Respectfully, Vggent.....❤❤❤❤
Super cute! I have seen a tutorial for sock gnomes before but your is very detailed. I am absolutely going to make me an entire gnome family. Thank you. Excellent first tutorial! 💕
I didn't see this comment so I hope I'm not repeating. I would recommend using the pellets instead of rice. Years ago I designed a floppy dragon and filled it with bird seed. If you live near fields or in the country, you can imagine what happened after I'd stored them in the based for a while. I would caution against the rice for the same reason. Gorgeous gnomes, I love them.
Great idea to freeze the rice. Never thought of that. I live Hawaii and we have no $ stores. It’s after Christmas, so will be making for this years Christmas. These are so cute, so happy I found you.
Oh my goodness! Gnome village here I come! Wait and you are left handed? Yes. Finally a lefty. Ty. Girl you did A-Maz-ing! Ty for this tutorial. I love these. I just gotta have some pretty socks. And the fur, and many thing, lol. Thank you, you did great on the Video!!
Let's hear it for the south paws! We're the only ones in our right mind!!!🙋🙋🙆 I love crafts and have a business flipping furniture, but I have a master's degree in mathematics. I'm an enigma like most South paws! We're a horse of a different color!
WOW! What at great job you, never, ever would of guessed it was your first video! Love it, already got my list for morning. I too have watched other gnome videos, but girl you blew them out of the water. Would love to see more of your talent and thank you for taking the time to show us other crafters/DIYers. Happy crafting!
So adorable! You are so creative! You did a great job on your first video 😁. I just saw that this was made 3 years ago. I can’t wait to see what else you have created. I’m not sure how this caught my attention, but I am sure glad that it did-Gnomes make me happy!
Absolutely ADORABLE...and you give solid instructions and make it so simple to make them. Very elegant looking too, and I like adding the embellishments to individualize each one with their own personality!
Great video and yours is the one I used to make my very first gnome, although I did alter mine a little. I found another way to make the nose - Lay the body down, grab some rice/sock then rubberband and tie it. For me it's easier than trying to grab while the body is in upright position and for the hat I didn't use the cone. I twist 3-4 pipe cleaners together, glue them in the top of the sock. But, I am going to try the cone on my next gnome to go with the 4 that I've made so far since watching your tutorial 😁
Great job. I think moving this along pretty quickly (which you did) is the secret to a successful UTube video. You came across as a pro, not a first-timer.
I saw another video that said you could add a bay leaf inside to keep bugs away/out of the rice. Cannot confirm nor deny said claim 😉 TYFS!!! Attempting gnome #1 tonight!! ❤️

For your first video you did a great job! Thank you for sharing your adorable gnomes 🎉
I enjoyed your calm and relaxed way of presenting your cute little Gnomes. Thank You
Thank you also for showing the many ways you can dress your gnome. Very clear directions.
Just a tip, I think it's easier to add the rice to the uncut sock first, then put the rubber band on, then cut the top off where you need it. We love these!! A friend of mine and I are both gnome crazy!!!
I do the same, much easier.
For someone who has never done this, all of these tips are amazing! Thank you!
Just use a cup.
Great idea 👍👍👍
What a wonderful video. You were clear and precise, explained everything so well!❤ and these gnomes are sooo cute! Thank you!!
Do not understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down, you did a great job. For a first time tutorial it was clear and concise...........well done.
Colorful little guy!!! love his 🎩...HE'S GREAT

Very cute! Great process video. Who thumbs down a Gnome? Very Grinchy:(
Love the Gnome who looks like he has a mustache.
You are a fantastic teacher! You explain WHY you do what you do and you show it. These are darling and I'm going to get on it! Merry Ho Ho Ho to your house, from ours, with gratitude.

OMG! I love this little gnome, I'm going to make one of my own. So glad I found your tutorial, there are so many different things you can add to him to just make him even more adorable! Thank you this is awesome.
I watched your video and believe I can make one! Your instructions are easy to understand. Thank you so much!!
I found the small party hats in the cone shape work great too at the $1 store.
Used TP rolls or paper towel rolls cut in half would work well too, and are totally free. Could stuff them with old paper if needed.
This is a great idea ..thanks so much ..
I think you did a fantastic first-time video tutorial. Keep them coming. These little guys are adorable.
This tutorial was great..One of the best and well explained steps in making them...Thank you very much.....Pat
Elaine C. What a wonderful " Gnome class". Your Gnome came out great and I think I will give it a try. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with others.
Fill with unpopped corn, add whole cloves and chunks of cinnamon stick for a Christmas scent.
We live in the country so non-food inside is best for us!
Add crushed bay leaves. Keeps bugs away
@@louisecox9641 👍👍
This is really good. At least you show that you make mistakes. Helps the stress lol.
I've not seen anyone NOT glue the nose. I may have to try that. Thanks again, keep up the good work!
Every Christmas afternoon, Grandma has a craft for the kids. We will be making gnomes this year.
