I was 10 years old some 45 years ago when I fell in love with the F15. Amazing to see her still reign supreme.
Boeing has offered this plane to India for a tender. I hope it gets selected! Always been a fan of the F-15 and the FA -18.

I'm so glad the F-15 got a second chance at life. Such an iconic plane and it's good at what it does. Too bad the F-14 didn't get this chance. Now, we just need to get the A-10EX in action.

I remember back in late 1997 on a visit to St Louis as an SCM consultant, I met with some of the F-15 project managers, technicians and workers. Boeing had just taken over McDonnell Douglas a few months prior, and the F-22 prototype had its maiden flight barely a month later. All the guys were thinking about the future, worried about being in a program that was about to be wound down - after all, the F-22 was where things would be at. They didn't want to be rendered obsolete with a platform that was about to be superseded. Still, whilst many were making broadstroke plans to transfer to new programs, they all pretty much thought the F-15 may have another few good years left...
Ummmm....yep. A few decades it seems now.
The reality is now that the F-15 will be in service with the USAF and other AFs well into the 2040s even as 6th generation fighters mature. That's a testament to the people who designed it in the 1960s, the officials who supported it and the pilots and crew who love it and keep it in the air. It's simply one of the greatest fighters ever made and with a bit of luck, some examples may still be in some type of service in the 2070s...100 years in the air.

It boggles the mind how a late 1960s fighter design that first flew in the 1970s is still competent enough to be flying for air forces in the 21st Century!
It's when they knew how to actually build airplanes that were also relatively cost efficient.
"competent" as in, won't be fielded outside the US in a decade's time, and will only be used for national defense, or for missions in which the opponent has very poor AA systems. The total lack of stealth is a major disadvantage here.
If the design's not broke don't fix it.
@@RM-el3gw You don't need stealth if there's no SAM threats. I would think the USAF's F-35s would have the SAMs dealt with on night one of a large scale conflict.
@@RM-el3gw stealth is an albatross around the neck of any nation foolish enough to pursue it. Too expensive to lose, means too dangerous to deploy, then you end up flying 4th gens anyway while the white elephants sit at home.

It won't..... It'd be Rafale if at all they proceed with MMRCA2..... but there's high chances that MMRCA2 won't be fruitful at all and only Tejas Mk1A, MWF and AMCA make it to the list of purchases with a couple of squadrons of Rafale F4 bought at staggered manner.....
Rafael is much better and suited for Indian needs
This is the newest, most modern version of a proven combat fighter jet.

Indonesian here, I grew up loving the French Tanguy et Laverdure comic series. I still think Su-27 family fighters are the most handsome, with F-15 family close second, and now we've got both in our own backyard, how cool is that! And that's not counting the still very handsome elderly F-16 already in our air force's inventory, and also the incoming one of Eurocanards in Dassault Rafale, and also the interim Mirage 2000. The aviation enthusiast in me is feeling something close to ecstasy 🤣.

By any known measure the F15 is greatest military aircraft that has ever flown, still cutting edge after nearly 50 years
F-22s might disagree on the cutting edge part. Especially if pilots who flew both types are to be believed. Still a very good missile truck though, especially for the price and longevity.
F-15 is my favorite plane. I love seeing these modernize variants of it!

Honestly I’m all for the f-15 but since these are only going into national guard service the aircraft won’t get the same maintenance and readiness attention as for say an f-35, which is why none the the guard bases in the running for new aircraft have gone out and said they want these, the pilots are split too, here at Barnes ANG base only 6-7 planes work out of 20 and some pilots know that they won’t need new training to fly the f-15ex however, other pilots want newer working aircraft that will have active duty readiness which the f-35 would offer.
Finally back to basics. Keep it up.

The F15SE ( Silent Eagle ) Deviated Slightly in Looks but Ultimately Got No Orders.
Great to see that the airframe I maintained for many years is getting an update and continued to be produced so my son could possibly have a chance to fly it one day...
The F18 planned replacement is an unmanned drone so chances are the 120 or so years of fighter pilots ruling the skies is coming to an end

@@aidengraves7737 ; No, F-22 was replacement for the F-15C and F-35 is/was replacement for the F-16, AV-8B and F/A-18C. Though as we know the Legacy fighters are here to stay because they are cheaper to fly and maintain.
Well the f-22 was the f-35 was for the f-16 primary and the morons thought they could replace the A-10 with it. Which the computer is good enough you can get low and slow. But you don’t have the gun or armor. That was just a budget thing a lot of the time that talk is just to get congress to commit to buying it. They don’t actually mean it. - the issue with the F-22 & F-35 is before you go on a mission where you require stealth you have to pretty much repaint it and smooth out the LO coating. Also after you hit Mach 1.8 the LO coating literally starts chipping off and starts to melt. Where the f-15 can hit Mach 2.5 for short burst and you won’t have to worry. All though I think they should put f-119 or f-135 engines in it and make it sustain higher Mach numbers for longer.

The F-35 has its problems...the F-16 cleans it's clock every time in mock combat. The F-22 Raptor is most definitely a Worthy opponent. But the F-15EX is the new balls of the sky! The Eagle has never been defeated in arial combat! Quite a record in today's times! This newer version with all it's improvements will keep the Eagle around for decades to come! May it reign supreme! 🦅

The F-15EX is largely based on the F-15SA (Saudi Arabia) and F-15QA (Qatar). Those countries basically paid the R&D bill, and for once the USAF gets the benefits. Eight F-15EXs were just ordered a year or so ago and already the first one is completed. Just needs a paint job!
Cool. I'm an F-35 fanboy still yet for it's so iconic and high tech. Hill Air Force Base in Layton, Utah gives the public great aerial views daily. I hope we get the air shows back this Summer.
That would be a dream, I really liked last time I wads down there for a show! This time the F-35 team could actually do more than just a couple flybys.

glad they aren't trying to make a single pilot fly that thing anymore.
Why? F-15Cs are still single-seat. The E model has a crew of two for ground attack missions, not because the pilot has issues flying the plane alone.
single seat planes have more fuel and less weight the 2 seat thing is outdated ,modern electronics and displays mean 1 pilot can easily manage the task at hand i would like to have seen this go back to single seat

It's a completely different airframe than the original versions. Boeing recreated all the ribs, spars, added stringers etc etc. Also improved capability, newer airfoil, larger fuel tanks, and larger engines. This new f15 isnt even remotely similar to previous f15. I'm actually glad they did this. Now if only they could do something for the F22.
