  • @kh40yr

Pops was Private Pilot from the local area for 40+ years. He owned a Bellanca Citabria for a bit. Light aerobatic plane that you had to keep positive g's on every maneuver, for the most part, to keep fluids where they needed to be. No inverted oil system on the Lycoming, so everytime it went inverted and if positive g's weren't held, the engine oil breather would slosh out a bunch of engine oil, all over everything, creating a day-long cleanup. Pops fix for that was easy. He bought a long length of clear hose, and clamped it to the oil breather. No More mess after that. The oil was dumped overboard back by the tailwheel where the clear hose exited the fuselage. Just a tiny bit of oil splash on the back edge of the rudder and tailwheel after that, which was MUCH better than coating the complete underside of the plane surfaces with oil, including all under the engine cowl. It was a real mess. The clear hose fix wasn't a green light to hold it inverted, it just kinda gave him a report card on his flying skills that day.

The tender was for Basic Trainer Aircraft, aka the first aircraft that students fly in to learn how to navigate and basic flight. Neither the US air force nor the Swedish air force would use an aircraft like the T-7A for that task. US air force use a turboprop aircraft which is what Sweden will use as well. For jet familiarisation and familiarisation with the Gripen platform we have 39D.

azur bleu two things,One, don’t quote me but I think the Boeing to Airbus ratio is like 7 to 1 Boeing and mind you that’s After airbus inception. As far as flight hours in total, 🙄 Second, Both Max crashes had one Very important thing in common. In seat experience. Mind you their were many Max’s flying when those two went down. Granted many pilots complained about MCAS, Due to their ability to fly and understand flight they simply disengaged as manual stated. I’m not blaming the pilots, I’m more inclined to put blame on management for putting low time pilots in seat. Left seat only had like 50 or so Hours.
As far as the actual statement that Boeing aircraft are dangerous, Not a chance. It’s simply irrefutable.

Well, they are close to their base, so they would be able to reach base and land there, even with no engine. There's a video where they test engine restart after a mid-air shut-down, and in that video you see them fly the mission in a simulator and landing back at base with no engine. So they are well prepared, if the engine cuts out and won't start again.
