- No-commentary gameplay of Bart's House of Weirdness. DOS. Hard difficulty. Game completed with 1 life. Played with DosBox 0.74. No tools, cheats, autofire, re-recording or save states were used.
Quite unknown Simpson's game for DOS. Graphics and music are impressive, but controls are a little bit unresponsive.
The game is quite similar to Bart's Nightmare. There are 6 stages (plus a last stage that appears once you have completed all of them) and you can choose any of them. Each one is different althought they share a similar gameplay, not like Bart's Nightmare.
This game is really hard in my opinion, but you can save any time you want and it's rather short, so it decreases the global difficulty of the game.
I'm playing in Hard mode, and I don't really know all the differences, but you can only carry 50 bullets. In Normal mode you can carry more.
I recommend doing the stages in the order I have chosen. It's not essential, but for example, you need the cap for the Space Mutants stage. Everytime you complete a set of 2 stages, you are rewarded with an item (sunglasses, cap and trainers).
I play with the alternate joystick mode, which makes the control a lot easier. With the regular joystick layout you have to push two buttons at the same time to shoot the secondary weapon.
It's a good game in my opinion, but the controls could have been improved. There are also too many random things, but it's probably the best Simpson's home system game of the time.

This is pretty sick for 1991 MS DOS. Imagine if Konami had made the console games.
Yup it still upsets me that they didn't... Simpsons arcade game should have been ported to so many consoles.. even imagine a GBA port! The possibilities would have been endless. However, I still do enjoy the Simpsons console games that were made.

How the hell
This is one of, if not, THE hardest games Ive ever played.
And I've played games people have said are super difficult (Earthworm Jim, Dark Souls,, Cuphead, etc)
Actually, this game is not that hard. The first time you play, it seems impossible but it's more of a problem related to the controls. Once you know the layout of the stages and you get used to the horrible controls, it's a lot easier. The games you mention are not really difficult, they are just famous. Try China Miner (Commodore 64, Amiga), that's real hell compared to those games, haha.

Those games weren't that hard for me, but are ones that Ive seen people say are super difficult.
This one actually does seem more related to the timing and layout than anything else, but it seems like its something you have to memorize EVERY room for :p

And oh man, China Miner was a tough one as well. But that one is also reliant on the layout and timing. I finished that game when I was very small, after days of playing it.

Man, if you could beat China Miner, then you can finish ANYTHING, haha. This game is a lot easier than that, trust me. The only thing is that you have to remember everything but it's not a long game, so there's not too much to memorize. Good luck! I'm sure you will beat it soon!

I never played this one, played the old arcade game and those terrible Acclaim games though. Looks like fun.
It's better than the Acclaim games, but not as good as the arcade one. Its main problem is that the controls can be a little bit unresponsive.

This was such a fun game, came accross it on a cd filled with dos games. Had fun with it but it was brutally hard and one of the levels didn't work as the game was missing a file :(

You don't have to collect the super burb balls because you can also beat Sideshow Bob with a lot of water bombs. You can stock up on water bombs in the cave before the boss screen.

Do you have to have previously beaten levels for the music to play when you re-enter them? I just tried playing the game for the first time on dosbox, and say for example, I enter the Itchy and Scratchy level, no music plays while it loads. Is this normal? The only music I was able to hear was during the intro. There's sound effects, no music.
It's been a while since I last played this game but you don't need to beat the levels to make the music play. It must be some kind of problem with dosbox or the sound configuration. Try changing the sound settings. I hope you can solve it.
I feel like this might have been fun in jan 1992 but very frustrating too. Im sure it sold like hot cakes for konami.

I have fuzzy memories of playing this game when I was really little. Probably one of the first games I ever played. Never got very far in it though. lol
But watching this, seeing these graphics and hearing the music and sfx after so, so long is a trip! I especially remember those falling leaves with angry eyes for some reason. And the Babysitter Bandit in the creepy basement level. lol

Hace tiempo que lo jugué pero diría que sí. Lo único es que hay unos saltos algo complejos que pueden suponer muerte instantánea y el hecho de tener que llegar con suficiente munición al jefe final. En cualquier caso, es entendible, ya que es un nivel al que solo se puede acceder cuando has pasado todos los demás, por lo que no sería muy sensato hacerlo complicado y obligar al jugador a repetir los anteriores constantemente.

I can see why I never heard of this game, it's weird, the stages are weird, the story makes no sense, the enemies are super generic and there's like no sense of direction.
I really don't see why Krusty Land had to be a Jungle Theme, I am assuming because of Sideshow Bob and the way he dresses.
It also got a very limited release.

Que juego raro la verdád, hasta pensé que era una aventura gráfica.
Es un plataformas/juego de acción. Gráficamente es muy bueno, pero tiene unos controles bastante toscos. Posiblemente sea el juego menos conocido de los Simpsons.
