    So glad you are doing better!
    I got SPD in my second trimester. It was so painful. However as soon as I had my baby, it went away. Thank goodness!

    I watched your last video a few months ago, not seeing anyone else talk about SPD and getting it so early on, I had it at 12 weeks. Everything u described to the T was what I felt and I cried with you watching the video. The experience has shocked me and put me into depression during my pregnancy. I'm 35 weeks now and barely sleep cause you know what it's like to turn in bed then have to take your time to get up and pee and its an all night ordeal. I can barely do anything at home. I'm literally just a sitting pregnant duck lol. And its depressing when you know other pregnant woman that can't relate and have no clue what your talking about but they are quick to say oh that's normal, I get pains in the pelvic area sometimes 🙄. Like yes I'd rather have your round ligament aches every day over this SPD and back aches from it. I'm hoping it gets better and doesn't get in the way of my delivery. Happy your doing well Moma

    I had SPD while pregnant. I was never diagnosed by a Doctor but everything you described in your other video is what I experienced. I’m now 11 weeks PP and I’m writing this comment because for me, the pain definitely lessened but it’s been hurting again for the past month. It’s not as bad as when I was pregnant but it’s still definitely there and is making day to day life hard.

    Hello ladies, when I gave birth to my now 28 year old son, I had an epidural, and when I was in delivery and pushing ,I heard a "POP!" I looked at the doctor and said "what was that ?!" She said "It was nothing, just keep pushing". The next day I couldn't move my legs, I couldn't walk , I knew I was in pain and I didn't know what was wrong. They gave me x-rays and told me that my son had separated my pubic bone by 2 cm during birth. He was my third child and my largest weighing 11 lbs. I was in the hospital for a week on a morphine drip until I was well enough to go home, but not until I learned how to walk with a walker, get in and out of the bathtub, and use stairs. I had to go through 6 months of physical therapy until I felt "normal". But even after all these years, I still get that sore spot on the sides of my hips and if I'm laying the wrong way and I turn, my pelvic bones still pops, it doesn't hurt ,but I still have that sensation. I hope you ladies have a speedy recovery,
    Blessed Be

    I had SPD with my second pregnancy and while mine wasn’t terrible during pregnancy, afterward it got MUCH worse. At my last post-partum appointment I mentioned it to my doctor and she referred me to an amazing pelvic floor therapist. I started out seeing her twice a week, after a few months it went to once a week, and the last few months it was every other week. The improvement from the start of my therapy to the end was immense! Overall it took almost a year and a half and I’m only 98% of the way there (I still have pain sometimes, usually during Disney trips where I’m walking a lot), but it’s so much better than it was in the beginning. I didn’t have it with my first pregnancy and honestly had never heard of it, glad you’re talking about it so more people are aware and can get the help they need instead of just suffering and dealing with it. 💜

    Thank you for sharing your experience! I am pregnant with my 7th baby now and it is so bad! I have had SPD pain with every pregnancy starting with my 4th. It has never really prevented me from doing anything and i was able to just deal with the pain. This time is totally different. It started earlier for me than normal this time around 15 weeks and it got so bad I basically couldnt walk and had to put myself on a sort of bedrest. When my family and I went to the zoo around 23ish weeks I had to get a wheelchair. I pretty much just get up and have about 15 minutes and then have to sit back down. First thing in the morning is so bad I can barely move my legs to get across the room. I keep telling myself it will go away afterwards, but I really can't even remember what it was like to not be in excruciating pain.

    I’m due in 2 days and have been struggling with the same issues. Sex, sleep, sitting, walking are all off the table. It takes me 15-20 min to get into bed and get comfortable. My pubic bone is always cracking and feels displaced. I will Definitely be asking about physical therapy after my baby gets here. Also I really don’t want to go through this again 😭 this is my third child and first time feeling this pain.

    Your video really brings me hope and validation. I've been struggling with SPD since 18 weeks and I've gone from walking alone to a cane and now a walker. I feel my body is just deteriorating before my eyes. My 4 year old son is afraid I'm going to die because he's seen me in pain and not being able to walk much. It breaks my heart. I'm 5 days away from delivering my 2nd and your advice and story comforts me. Thank you for making this. ❤

    Thank you so much for this video. I just found out through a Dr Mama Jones video what this intense pain in my pelvic is and did more searching. I never brought it up to my OB since I figured it was just my age and extra weight I put on. Thank you for putting yourself out there, you really are helping other moms not feel embarrassed about this extra pain that they have probably been told is normal. 💕💜

    My experience postpartum was different. Yours was much better. I had a vaginal birth. I couldn't ride home in the car with my husband or son. He had a jeep and there was no way I could physically get in there. So I had to ride home with my mom. I was in SEVERE pain. I had my son mid-November and I couldn't get into physical therapy until NYE. That was my first session. I did 6 weeks of physical therapy. That did help. And time. But I would say I was in severe pain 2 months after birth, moderate pain between month 2-6 months. And then minimal pain after. 8 years later my body is definitely not the same. I cannot do anything like roller skate, ice skate (any movements where you glide your legs outward). I cannot jump in a pool, the force from the water aggravates my pubic bone. My hips and bones pop and crack- never happened prior to pregnancy. I'm glad your experience was much better than mine. Mine was AWFUL. Why I only had one child.

    I have had SPD from 12 weeks pregnant. I keep going to physical therapy, but nothing has helped.
    My doctor will assess me in few days to see if we need to opt for c-section.
    Watching this video and reading the comments, I can see that C-section might be a better option than Vaginal birth for me.

    I’m 9 months postpartum and still suffering. I was diagnosed yesterday. Every time I tried to workout, no progress. I wasn’t sure what it was and I complained several times. My doctor said it’s just pain from childbirth. I finally had an x-ray and got the results.

    It doesn't always go away. After my 4th it never went away. I am not pregnant with my 5th and its gotten 100 times worse by week 8. The first few pregnancies though yes it did go away. I don't think I will ever recover from it

    Can SPD be felt in your lower back? I only feel it in my lower back but I have had it since 9 weeks, couldn’t vacuum or do hardly anything my whole pregnancy. The thought of spreading my legs for labor or being put on my back makes me want to cry

    Ahhh this is SO encouraging! I'm currently 7 months pregnant and dealing with SPD- definitely sounds not as bad as yours, but still difficult to deal with! I started doing PT a couple weeks ago, but I feel like the pain is getting worse as the baby keeps getting bigger 😬 I was wondering how soon things would feel better after giving birth, so your story is so helpful. Do you think recovery takes longer if you give birth vaginally? I've been wondering if vaginal labor will be more painful because of my SPD, but you're so right, doctors seem to not really know about it! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thanks again for the info! 😊

    • @BekahHart
      @BekahHart  4 роки тому +1

      I’m so glad this is encouraging!!! SPD is a challenging journey, to say the least. From what I’ve researched, because SPD is a response to a hormone, there isn’t a difference between a vaginal birth or c section. That’s so awesome you’ve already started PT!!! ❤️

    Hi Bekah, 35 weeks along and scheduled for a C-section in a few weeks for my third child. This is the first pregnancy I have had PGP/SPD pain. I'm having some anxiety about the C-section procedure. My pain seems worst after I lay on my back and go to shift to my side or get out of bed. It causes shooting pains and often I can't put weight on my right leg after without limping. With having previous C-sections I know the procedure happens on your back and you stay in that position for the time that your legs are still numb. I'm worried that will make my pain so much worse when recovering from the C-section. I'd feel better if I could lay on my right hip (where the pain radiates from) after the procedure. Just curious if you experienced the same or could tell me how you realized your pain was gone after delivery. Thnx!

    • @BekahHart
      @BekahHart  2 роки тому

      To my surprise, the c section recovery was the most relief I had in months. Of course everyone’s experience is different, but the SPD pain should significantly decrease after giving birth. You’ve got this mama! ❤️
