I just picked up some JG BB Original and seen this as a variety of grass VNS variety not stated. Im worried
Hi Mac, due to extreme weather issues there was a crop failure last year. In order to have enough Black Beauty class grass seed to get through the year we had to approach seed farmers that had grown Black Beauty varieties for JG for the past few years. Sometimes as new Black Beauty varieties are released it makes sense to let the farmer continue to grow an older Black Beauty variety and sell it to their customers and pay us a royalty. The seed farmer must sell the seed as VNS “variety not stated” and once it is sold as VNS it is sold that way even if we buy it from the farmer again and sell it to our customers. This VNS Tall Fescue will look great and match up to the other tall fescues in the seed mixture. In 2023 there will be no VNS in our Black Beauty mixtures because we have had a much better harvest and we hope to never have to use VNS tall fescue again. Hope that clears everything up for you!

I bought, 25 lbs Sun & Shade, 7 lbs Shady Nook and 7 lbs Dense Shady. The SS came up thin for 9500 square ft of seed in only 8500. The other two have been laying there doing nothing but feeding birds since September 25 2022 (28 days ago).
Unless a miracle happens I would not recommend this brand to anyone unless you are giving it to your neighbor because you're trying to dominate them and thier lawn!
Check your water system / watering computer . Set it to 3 times a day , and 4 times a day if you’re in the heat of Texas like me
I could only recommend Joanatan Green , use the Black beauty

You obviously did some wrong. I sewed (total over-seeding my 9K square foot yard) with Sun& Shade fall of ‘23 in western Wisconsin and It came up beautifully! Watered 2 times a day
