I have been using Dense Shade for the past 2 yrs. They will come up fine in the Spring and then die off in the summer. Trust me JG Shady nooks is the best. I still use dense shade towards the street and it worked okay this summer in the sense that it didnt completely die off but towards the back of my yard near the shed I use JG Shady Nooks. Its JG best grass seed. Also looking at your video you seem to be suffering from compaction issues. JG Love your soll and JG Magical Plus would help. I dont know the area that you live however depending on your area you have to know they type of JG magical plus to use. I live in the North East where we have acidic soils so I use the JG Magical plus for acidic soils.

I am in Dallas, TX, I have put this down 6 times in 6 years. Grass comes up SUPER NICE, and then it all dies even with good watering. Presume the heat even in 100% dappled shade just can't survive.
This is recommended for zones much further north. You might want a Bahia or st Augustine blend that withstands the heat better.
@@HelpAtMyHome I looked into st. Augustine seed, surprisingly bad germination and nearly impossible to find. The established grass in my yard is St. Augustine. When I put sod down, it doesn't do well. I will look into Bahia.
Is this seed good if you have a mix of sun and shady. I’d say I have about 50/50 sun and shade in my backyard depending on the time of year. I have two large oak trees, one red maple and one silver maple. All the trees lose leaves at differing times of year but in the summer my backyard is mostly shady but the sun hits different patches for longer periods of time in certain zones. Right now I am dealing with lots of bare spots and dead grass just like your lawn. It also probably doesn’t help my backyard is heavy traffic with dogs and people running and walking around on it a lot. I’m just trying to get it to thicken up so mud isn’t all over the lawn and through the house from the dog all the time.
Yes I have had a lot of luck with this mix in heavy shade as well as mixed sun with shade
