blur were always on another level musically. all the casual pop rockers were really taken with oasis and their straight up and down song writing but what blur were doing was so much more interesting and cultured.
The Gallaghers don't need to be on the same story, paragraph, sentence or breath anymore when discussing Damon Albarn. That argument was squashed and buried two decades ago.

As a Westerner I never listened to much foreign music at all. But when my favorite musicians began fusing "foreign music" into their repertoire, they have introduced me to an entire new line of music I never would have considered. And I am finding beautiful, fantastic music from all over the world. Thanks for the comment.

Not sure if I like Out of Time more than The Universal, feels like the older I'm getting the better Out of Time sounds to me. Yes, perhaps the best Blur song right there.
And its not even a blur song, half of think tank (the album which this song is from) was 80% written by Damon alone

As a Middle Eastern person, I'm so happy to see and listen to this, his music crosses borders, cultural barriers, and definitely remind us all that we are all united by our humanity. Damon is unique in every way as a musician, he is an original artists, a trend-setter, but above all his a human being with an open mind and with an awakened conscience. His support for the Palestinian cause and other humanitarian causes globally is another proof of how a great person he is outside of music, well cultured and aware of what's happening in the world. Simply, an incredible artist.

@@wellumm Yes, Damon is a supporter of Palestine and BDS, back in 2014 he cancelled concerts in Israel so not cross the picket line, he also supports BDS. It was heart-warming for me too when I knew about it, but it's not a surprise as Damon always took a stance against war and imperialism, he was one of the most vocal critics from the music industry against the Iraq war and supported many social causes for minorities and disadvantaged people.
A most perfect moment in time that these amazing people shared. I visit this UA-cam song often. I think of these artists, living in such a painful place...but here they are, were, I hope they are still safe, and will survive this awful mess that they do not deserve to be in the middle of.😢
There should be a studio version of this live version of the song. Its so much better than the original song. Damon's vocals are so much stronger and deeper here, live. His voice shows more emotion. And the choir makes it so much better

It’s funny when people talk about Blur in terms of guitars, Graham gets a lot of plaudits (and rightly so). But with Think Tank, it shows off Damon’s skills, and to me he’s quite underrated.

It is probably one of the best songs written in the pop world.
A musical genius on so many levels. Something rather poignant about this version of a truly majestic song.
The Arabic accompanying music took the song to the higher plane where it should be. Arabic music can save the western song from its current stagnation. The blues did that once. 1:54 the magic starts.
This song was never stagnant, this is just another version of it, the other one hits much harder in the feels
