Remember, you can kill a lot of creatures just by running in to them with the Seatruck. The Brute Shark and the Cryptosuchus are two creatures you will see a lot of that you can kill by running in to them.
Everything in the first subnautica was more intense. It feels like this one is just more involved with a bigger back story than the first one and having AL-AN is pretty entertaining as well. I wish he was a little more snarky as you explore tho. "Excuse me primitive life form but that creature is dangerous, I would advise against close encounters" as you get smacked around by a squid shark
@@napalm3980 the main issue with below zero is the lack of urgency. Robin drops onto the planet to find out what happens to her sister, then very quickly goes "ehh, alien body time". Like, you don't need to even explore Sam's death before beating the game. Compared to subnautica 1 where you have to explore the aurora, you kind of have to figure out where the precursor bases are. Because you are the only one amongst what is basically an invisible planet wide graveyard, it makes sense why everything is just left around, but in below zero it doesn't make sense why PDAs are literally everywhere given alterra had plenty of time to look for any evidence, such as a PDA of somebody admitting to doing a crime...
I completely disagree, I would zoom through the lava biome in my prawn suite with no second thoughts. But when I started going into the crystal biome I turned around and figured I'd get back to it at a later date

the snowstalkers are really cool but you can easily kill them with the thermoblade, i still feel bad doing it especially when they have a child since i found preston really cute when he is friendly to you.
I loove the mushroom caves and the crab snakes. They look amazing and they never attacked me. I also love the blod kelpes where the ghost leviathan is. I always build my base right next to him with windows all around.
In the last three Locations you could build a base there, Place Thermal Plants around the Trees and your Moonpool, Then Build a Tunnel towards the Crystal kingdom and the Primary Base itself will be inside,
You can quite easily get your sea truck into the mining site, the door has a little groove at the top which perfectly fits the thrusters and the rest of the truck fits through perfectly.
I acidently took it there with 2 modules and it took about 10 minutes to get out. They really should have made another entrance that you can unlock once you get down there
In my opinion subnautica below zero isnt nearly as scary as the first game and it needs a way bigger map still tho it holds a very special part in my heart. The next game they make needs to be longer (story wise) , needs a bigger map and needs to be way scarier than the first subnautica

This game is so good I lost 19hrs on data bug but didn’t put me off. Fixed now working great over a day on it for got the bug any other game I would have given up but love these games subnautica and zero 👍

300 hours is an age in this small game. Did 26hrs after full release and have completed it, scanned everything, raised all the eggs, seen all the map, built all the buildables. Kinda done with now. It was like PG rated Subnautica Lite. Crying out for more threat this game, the giant prawns were a bit durpy and essentially harmless after you've acquired the electric shock upgrade and the only other real threat is locked in the deep biomo with little to no reason to visit as you hardly need any kyanite which is the only thing down there once you've built the alien body. Hoping they redo this new ending and add the ice dragon that was cut out, it's crying out for more content, it's closer to an expansion than a standalone game.
I believe below zero was initially meant to be dlc but it was less work to go from the ground up than to attempt to adabt the original engine to fit the game. So thats why it feels closer to expansion than a full game. I do however personally like below zeros map more. I liked my experience with og subnautica more, and the progression is deffinately far better but below zeros environments feel a bit more “realistic” if that makes sense. Theyre smaller but packed with more details I could be wrong about that but i vaguely remember the devs saying something like that when the game was first announced.

yea i did lol, it sucks but now i can experience a new story. it was spread across multiple saves too so i didn't have any super mega bases i cared a bunch about.
@@JuniBee I was at roughly 150 hours with the big update and surprising to myself I suffered very litte after starting over from scratch. You know, it's still a building and survival game and not about real estate management ^^
Full release just came out on Xbox. I decided to do a Hardcore blind run, doing everything super safe. I walked away while in my base for like 10 minutes with full food and water and came back dead :(. I should have just logged out. 20 hours gone

Great video, only thing I would point out is you don’t have to just rely on your oxygen traveling through the Kappa mining site. You can squeeze the prawn suit through the door later on or take the sea truck in there through the crevices above the main room. Helps get a lot more resources!
Yea, tbh i think they may be my favorite organisms in subnautica cannon. Not only are they beautiful and are really conceptually cool but the scale of the is incredible. Looking up at them from the base almost gives me vertigo

i think that the crystal caverns is the coolest probably because i have an unhealthy obsession with the shadow leviathan. as for the spookiest? surprisingly probably the deep twisty bridges since when you first make it there youre super vulnerable without any vehicles and the squid shark is really hard to keep track of before you learn his patrol.
I actually have not been to the glacial basin since it was completely remodeled so ill probably be just as lost as you are but if you need help on the island theres a map you can find. It doesnt show you where you are on it but it can allow you to get a lay of the land. As for the snow stalkers, theyre mostly territorial so if you steer clear of them they will likely leave you alone provided there isnt also a cub nearby. I wish you the best of luck!

@@boredhuman6512 my tgoughts for that would be to try and look at the canyon walls for any identifiable shapes or pathways to try and find out where you are. Alternatively you can also pull up your coordinates with i believe its F3

The wiki says this: On console, open your PDA with the appropriate button for your system, and scroll over to the "other" tab. For our purposes, though, look for the line that says 'world pos'. This will be followed by a series of numbers, which represent your exact location in the game world. It will look something like this - world pos: (76.7, -332.0, -911.7)

thanks! and yea the condenser mic i bought isnt all that great, believe it or not the way its mixed was actually a pretty big improvement from the raw audio but i will admit im not too knowledgeable on that front so i probably could do a better job in the future
i am not 100% sure about the abyss biome but as far as i can tell it isn't planned to be implemented and if it is it will probably just be the deadzone from subnautica but with a new coat of paint.(edges of the map) . the ice dragon is still listed as cut content on the favro so they probably will not be adding it, especially since they have their hands full with the new storyline but theres technically a small chance it will be brought back small as it may be.
As a person with nearly 480 hours in the original subnautica, I can say without a doubt, the crash fish will always be the scariest creature

There are things that can hurt you in the deep lily pads cave. Spike traps and there's also the Lily peddler which can drown you if you're not careful

Actually there are 3 ways to get to the crystal caves. From the vent garden area, the lilypad islands and the purple vents
Those entrances didnt exist yet when i made this video, infact i filmed it just after the update adding in the shadow leviathan

The wiki says this:
On console, open your PDA with the appropriate button for your system, and scroll over to the "other" tab.
For our purposes, though, look for the line that says 'world pos'. This will be followed by a series of numbers, which represent your exact location in the game world.
It will look something like this - world pos: (76.7, -332.0, -911.7)

Great video! However there is something wrong with the audio , I don't know if this is the mic or the mix but your voice seems muffle it's hard to understand what you are saying at times. But beside of that you gained a sub :)
thanks! and yea the condenser mic i bought isnt all that great, believe it or not the way its mixed was actually a pretty big improvement from the raw audio but i will admit im not too knowledgeable on that front so i probably could do a better job in the future

I know I am a bit late but do you know if developers are gonna add abyss biome and ice dragon?
i am not 100% sure about the abyss biome but as far as i can tell it isn't planned to be implemented and if it is it will probably just be the deadzone from subnautica but with a new coat of paint.(edges of the map) . the ice dragon is still listed as cut content on the favro so they probably will not be adding it, especially since they have their hands full with the new storyline but theres technically a small chance it will be brought back small as it may be.
