I’m glad you add in tips for beginners as well, I just started playing a couple months ago and it’s really helpful to hear! I actually started playing because of II, he’s an amazing drummer and I’m so inspired when I watch him play!
Sleep token had popped a few times for me, but I just couldn't get into them. It wasn't until I watched a drumeo clip of II playing that I got hooked. He's just mesmerizing.
We call him ii (2). He's genius on his kit. Thank you for explaining moon gels, I appreciate that as a nondrummer. We all googled "paradiddles" after the long Drumeo we still watch repeatedly. When I say we I mean we who worship ST. We share good reactors on a FB page, you're a good one because you help us understand what it is technically that makes ii so good. I think you'll like Higher and Like That. Oh and he's just as good live, there aren't many good videos of just ii but he's still perfection.
Would love to see you commenting on the full Drumeo session once you’ve done other songs. Just so we can understand more of what he talks about in between songs (patterns, inspiration, etc.) for those of us who dont know drums 😊

Hey, thanks for the moon gels explanation! I just watched your Chad Smith vid after watching a few of the II vids, and I'd been thinking that the drum sounds were different - and I think, based on what you said there, and the difference I'd noted, that it might be due to those? Really neat.

I think he changes Tom heads depending on the setting. I've seen other videos of him playing with remo heads on the toms. Pinstripes if I'm not mistaken. Snare is usually a 13" with P77 batter head
