I always knew drummers lived on a whole other plane of existence, but this completely elevated my appreciation for the craft to a whole new level. Wish other bands did this too! II seems so calm and non chalant about the whole thing, dude just made love to those drums and then tucked them in to bed with a warm glass of milk!
11 plays with such freedom it's absolutely mesmerising. Keep your eye on his right hand/arm when he's playing the symbol it's so loose and expressive almost like he's conducting an orchestra. Insane drumming!!!
I've become a HUGE fan of Sleep Token in the past month and this drummer is on another level. Can't wait to see you hear some of their other songs (I'd recommend one but they're all good) And as always, your edits are elite bro, keep it up!
He IS the drum kit. II is like a spider in a net full of drums. Sorry, bad analogy, but my brain runs out of my ears when I watch him. It is mesmerizing. And that moment when he STOPS the cymbals!!!!! 😲
The dude's groove is the same as a classical painist, but with a super heavy song. That's how you can tell he has become a part of the music, not just playing it.
It's all intentional. I feel like this man wrote out the track with all of the beats in places you would expect them to be and where they belong, then he flipped a switch that just does the opposite and recorded that part
There’s so many more to get into 😍 Telomeres is one of my favorites. There’s the offering as well, Jaws, Bloodsport, Higher, High Water, Calcutta. All amazing songs just a bit older than the recent releases. All amazing!!
Real pro drummer here. It’s hard to say if it was a mistake, or just a flourish of some type, he added. I mean most drummers never play a song live the exact same they play it in a studio, or for a recording. There were several mistakes, but no human being, or musician, no matter how skilled, are always flawless.
I’ve been watching your reactions to sleep token and I have to say you really need to check out the vocal covers that Will Ramos does of hypnosis and chokehold.
Not a fan of your screen being twice the size of the guy actually playing the song. I can barely see what he is doing and I don’t care that much about seeing your facial expressions and head nodding.
You just described a reaction video. People who watch reaction videos expect to see the person reacting to their favorite song or video. If you want to enjoy the actual video that I am watching the screen without me in it, you can watch the original video.
