You are the best food vlogger. You actually describe the smell and tasteš of food instead of just being "ewwwwww, I don't like it" Or "yummy, so good!" like most other food vloggers. The way you talk about the products I can pretty well estimate if i would like it or not. I kinda wanna try these, I like spicy things... but then I am a European chick, so that makes me be vary of it... might be too spicy for my delicate taste buds lol.
For those who are confused about eating ramen dry or with soup, it's not a preference or cultural thing. Certain types of ramen are just made to be eaten dry(like the one in the video) while most others are made to be eaten with soup. You can determine which kind it is by looking at the picture on the packaging or the instructions.
Exactly, if you make the soupy ones dry then the noodles get really salty!! And if you make the dry ones soupy, then theres just not enough flavour and salt.
for everyone questioning about the draining if a ramen package has a spicy POWDER it is meant to be in a water base and not drained. if a ramen package has a spicy SAUCE it is meant to be drained so the noodles can be coated in the spicy sauce. ( there are exceptions like black bean noodles, but for the most part this is correct) just read the back of the package on how to prepare the noodles
+Bob cast (bobcast) Oh, I wasn't referring to her Asian roots, just saying that she's eaten spicy things before and really liked them, so I figured this wouldn't be a big deal, either! But now I know I definitely won't be able to try this, because while I can handle a little heat, this sounds like it would have me crying, too. haha
Emmy is such a boss! Nobody compares to her when it comes to spice and food in general. I'll be sending you an American MRE and a ramen cup soon! I eat my ramen with pepper, garlic powder and hot sause.
For those who don't know there are some cup noodles that you can eat without the soup, just look at the picture on the package. If it looks dry (without soup) like this one, just drain the water after you cook it. It's as simple as that. If you're used to see many kinds of cup noodle, you'll know the differences easily.
+Suiren cx No. It's just because of the challenge itself. The challenge calls for you to drain it so you get the full effect of the sauce. You don't add water otherwise it will get watered down and thus won't be as spicy.
I love your videos!! I used to watch you all the time and for some reason I stopped being on UA-cam as much and I revisited your channel a few months ago and watch your videos so much! I also love how chill you were with these food videos, so many people just give the "ew this taste nasty" or "wooooooow this taste so good" comments, but you truly talk about the texture, smell, taste, etc.
at my local korean market ~zion~ they didnt have the cup of noodles, only the packet ones and it came in a pack of six. & i didnt want to waste them, so like once a week i would put myself thru torture to finish the ramen. lolol of course super tasty tho, but hellllaaaaaaaaa spicy (^_^)v
out of watching so many videos of the challenge...She has done this the BESTIEE and the QUICKEST. She took it like a pro. I love her and can trust he food opinions😂
I'm the same Emmy I go for spicy soups or food when I have a cold sometimes it chases it away. Never seen these specific noodles. Doesn't look like it was much of a challenge for you looks like you loved these : )
I'm 19 weeks pregnant and NEED this. I eat spicy food any time I can get my hands on it. Before I was pregnant, I thought Mexican food was too spicy. Now I can't find food spicy enough. 😂😂
Emmy's spicy ramen challenge: *eyes watering* not bad, pretty tasty Spicy Ramen Challenge of a 6-foot 300lb man: *full-out crying and sweating* THIS IS REALLY SPICY And this is why Emmy rules the world
loving watching your channel your such a trooper with theses spicy noodles videos ive watched all the ones you posted and you killed them i must say way to do it emmy
I like this ramen plain but my friends hate spicy food so instead of cooking it like normal what we do is cook the noodles as usual and drain them and then in a different pot melt some cheese and milk together to make a nice broth and then add the spicy sauce and eat it that way :) all the lactose cuts the spice and my friends can eat it
It is not the lactose, but rather the fat, that cuts the spiciness, because capsaicin is fat soluble. That coupled with the liquid means that more of the spiciness goes down your throat instead of coating the inside of your mouth. The sweetness of the lactose probably helps to distract from the burn of he capsaicin, but doesn't really reduce it.
This was probably the best spicy ramen challenge I've seen. Most videos I've seen, people start screaming with pain a couple bites in. You did amazing! Love your videos!
My trick: cook the noodles in hot water until springy.... drain all the water, then add fresh, COLD water in to cool the noodles down (to about somewhere above body temperature or above ambient room temperature) and to keep them from getting too soft. Drain again. NOW add the sauce+seaweed+sesame seeds. Mix. Enjoy.
Local Korean guy told me to eat it with cheese and mayo (next time - after you've done the challenge) . Half a handful of cheese and a tablespoon of mayo = amazing.
Emmy you are so pretty and I absolutely love your videos! So descriptive and detailed unlike any other taste test videos I've seen. Keep up the awesome work:)
I saw that bowl before on a store and I was doubtful to buy it but oh my goodness your eyes were watering 😱 I think I definitely have to guve them a try, maybe I'll make a video also, I hope you see it when I upload it. I have a question, is it even more spicy and hot than ramyon by ottogi? The bags are red and blue, beef and sea food I guess. I love your videos, you inspire me to try new things without being afraid
Theres some tear off holes you can poke through on the lid to drain the water out! i recommend eating it with cheese and samgak kimbap (similiar to an onigiri) or just with cheese! :)
I... noticed a few people were confused in the comments about ramen. Some instant ramen is meant to be noodle soup, so you mix the seasonings into the hot water. Another type, the type Emmy is eating, is instant dry noodles, so you cook the noodles, pour the cooking water out, and add the sauce. They are two different types and it depends on what you buy, so you haven't been "eating instant ramen wrong". Also, sometimes people make noodle soups out of what's supposed to be dry noodles or vice versa and it won't kill you haha
your way of eating makes sense- if you stop for too long you won't go back, it keeps drawing you in. way to go! i crave this same ramen on nights with insomnia, and catch the heat afterwards.
You should have a nice thick slab of buttered bread ready. The fat in the butter will dissolve the capsaicin, and the starchy bread will mop up the capsaicin laden fat.
I too am under the weather so I'm glad to hear you're feeling better!! This made me so hungry - but once I saw your eye starting to water I was glad I was only WATCHING you eat! haha
+emmymadeinjapan yay u replied!!!! i love watching ur video im actually under alot of stress right now taking care of his family sincehe just went thru surgery. ur helping me relax when i actually have time
Now the real challenge is to eat this without blowing your nose... For it'll really make your nose run. --- I used to eat this working mid-shifts in Bundang, Seoul. This and a cup of coffee really helped to wake you up at 0300. But if you want a real spicy Korean food challenge... go for the 닭도리탕 (Dak-do-ri-tang). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakbokkeumtang
that ramen is so good. it's my new favorite. i always have some in the pantry. you're right about the heat not kicking in until you've stopped eating. i tend to be fine after though but i love spicy foods.
just love watching you eat and tlk...love the way u manage every thing....you eat so much stuffs and still slim and beautiful. ..watching u eat always makes me crave lol
+GucciVitae I eat ramen both ways. Usually if I have it with broth, I make sure the broth is good. If I just want some ramen, I'll boil the noodles, drain, and add some kind of flavoring and tid bits.
I eat that ramen at least once a week. I add fresh jalapenos, cilantro, garlic, and whatever leftovers that might work well (sometimes its meat, sometimes its veggies, etc). I LOVE those noodles and even though I eat a TON of hot and spicy foods, these do clear out my nose too. Even us "hot heads" will admit that they are pretty spicy, especially for a cheap ramen noodle. I do love the flavor most of all though. Glad you liked it too!
Hi! Ive been watching your videos for a long time and I don't think I have ever left a comment so I am going to leave one now. I love your videos, I watch them every time I am having my dinner. Much love from Kapi from New Zealand.
is it really that spicy ? just a question , well i am use to eating very spicy food , so will it be spicy for me if i had it ? to those people who is spicy lovers.
Its a different kind of spicy, im used to eating one of the hottest chilli peppers in the world during dinner and eating these ramyun/ noodles gave me a nasty stomach ache, like my body wasn't having it.
It's a different kind of spicy. It's kind of stays in your mouth and throat and the longer you linger the spicier it gets, the heat I mean. But delicious still.
Know it's late, but I was curious and I tried it today, it honestly is good for flavor but it wasn't *that* spicy, but my lips are still burning but it's a nice burn; it's worth a try!
Every time I go to my local H Mart I always pass the Instant Noodle isle and the first thing my mind always goes to when seeing any of the Samyang Ramyeon, is this video. So in honor of this video I bought the exact same bowl of noodles and boy am I HURTING. Props to you Emmy, you stayed much cooler than I. After 2 bottles of water and eating an ice cream cup with my hands, I still can't feel my lips. My hat goes off to you.
OMG FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY DRAINS THE WATER BEFORE ADDING THE SEASONING:'D I used to eat ramen without draining the water first and omg when I realized you need to drain it, it tastes so much better omgggg. I'm definitely trying this challenge! I SHALL DEFEAT IT JUST LIKE YOU~! >:3
My husband and i just tried these. I hallucinated for a moment lol soooooo damn spicy!!! You have the calmest voice and I love how you describe the food
I'm a hairstylist and Ulta in nj right outside nyc and we eat these pretty often. We don't undulant drain the water though. Helps fill our tummies more! Especially since we won't really get breaks
She's the calmest person I've ever seen do this challenge😂😂
lesly garcia i can also eat it and be very calm.
Her video is nice, so much better than those people that over-react and vomits in front of the camera "for the views"
Just no
I'm European but from the South of Europe. I eat chili peppers every day! Love spicy foods so much!

Meme Dealer armyy~~
I like her videos a lot. She's not crazy loud or annoying. Her videos also don't make me feel like I wouldn't want to try something.
the sound of the chopstick hitting the ramen box was so soothing... omg
for everyone questioning about the draining
if a ramen package has a spicy POWDER it is meant to be in a water base and not drained.
if a ramen package has a spicy SAUCE it is meant to be drained so the noodles can be coated in the spicy sauce.
( there are exceptions like black bean noodles, but for the most part this is correct)
just read the back of the package on how to prepare the noodles
Watching you eat these noodles had my mouth watering ahaha..try to blow a mosquito away and dribble came right out :X
Rochelle Ballah ya my mouth was watering
Rochelle Ballah SAME
Rochelle Ballah lmao picturing this
Rochelle Ballah Same I want some now lol
I had no doubt that you'd handle the heat.
Yeah, I saw the title and thought "well this is no contest, for her!" haha
are you serious? Im asian, I can handle hot food but I ate that quickly too quickly. Had nothing to drink, felt like h3ll on my tongue, cried.
+Bob cast (bobcast) Oh, I wasn't referring to her Asian roots, just saying that she's eaten spicy things before and really liked them, so I figured this wouldn't be a big deal, either! +veryberry39 Besides actual peppers, the spiciest anything I have ever had was this homemade mango chutney.
She's asian

I think you're referring to HyuneeEats! She's amazing at handling spice.
wutheringstorms yeah I just forgot how to spell it
wutheringstorms I watch her vids
Yep this is exactly how I was with this samyang ramen. What I did was stop midway so it felt really spicy. Now I'm craving for some more!
+TabiEats hahaha!
+emmymadeinjapan I'm not one for Spicy foods myself, but slightly spicy is good

I've been eating ramen the wrong way my whole life? I never drain it.
+Pam HR It's this particular style that you drain -- not all of them... :)
+emmymadeinjapan your lips look kinda orange lol nun
+Estrella Hermosillo its from the sauce lol
+emmymadeinjapan Is it called something different? If I search dry ramen with no soup on Google I just get ramen that people don't cook T_T
+Suiren cx No. It's just because of the challenge itself. The challenge calls for you to drain it so you get the full effect of the sauce. You don't add water otherwise it will get watered down and thus won't be as spicy.
She literally wiped her mouth then dabbed her eyes with the same side of the cloth I thought it was gonna be a disaster 😖
Ashley Russell same! I've eaten spicy wings then wiped my eye like 3 hours later and almost lost an eye! Lol
Same 😂😂😂😂

Are you telling me that maruchan ramen should eat dry and not like a soup? :/ my whole life has been a lie !!
Gotta admit I loooove to eat it as soup
If the packet is dry you eat it with water. If the packet is liquid like in the video you drain it.
well that one yup! Its not spicy and doesnt have a lot of taste as a broth, was it really that one? 'o'
+Liz Roche This ramen in particular is supposed to be eaten dry, but the Maruchan and those others are supposed to be eaten like a soup
+Liz Roche Just like how Mi Goreng should be eaten. :)
+Sara Gurdiel I drain my maruchan ramen because the broth makes it slimy.

You don't eat your ramen with the water? I've never seen that before
This particular ramen is meant to be served without water.
This specific Korean ramen need to be drained. Otherwise, it's not spicy enough.
+GucciVitae I don't think these noodles are supposed to be eaten with a broth.
+GucciVitae Ramens that come with that sauce packet instead of the powdered seasoning are supposed to be eaten without the water.
