Beginner boxes have always been one of the things Paizo does incredibly well IMO, and I think starting with this, and being further developed in the PF2 one, they really take the top spot for just about the best in the industry for how they introduce folks to their games with all the different materials and aids you get in these boxes, it's awesome. I do believe the rules in the SF beginners box are slightly different to those in the main CRB, but with SF2 on the way so soon, I would probably just wait for that if I was looking to get into SF now, and hopefully a new beginner's box will follow along quickly after the launch of the CRB. SF1 is in this weird middle space where it feels like a halfway step between the rules of Pathfinder 1st and 2nd edition and I'm not surprised paizo are moving to more of the PF2 core system for the second edition. I was really excited to get into Starfinder initially, but the deeper I got into reading it, the more I was turned off by how ingrained it is with its setting. It's VERY space fantasy, and even more than Pathfinder I think you would have to do a lot of work to run a homebrew campaign using this ruleset that wasn't set in the default universe. There's just so much setting stuff baked in that it would be easier to use another sci fi system to run something in a different setting. But if you dig the setting and want that space fantasy vibe, it's got it in spades and there's a lot of cool stuff in the SF books (the tech gelatinous cube is a particular favourite).
I hope that they remake this beginners box when SF2 releases. Though I hear that they game is going to be compatable to PF2, but better safe then sorry, right?

This sounds like the ultimate Starter Box with lots of use even after the "starter stage".

I can't imagine they won't have a new beginners box. They did for the latest Pathfinder remastered and that wasn't even a full new edition
