True all way. Been trying to teach myself how to be slow and have felt that we all need to LEARN HOW TO PLAY SLOWLY. Thanks. I subscribed for the way you put some spice in my little knowledge of phrasing. God bless you.
@@daveyjones457 guess what; I started out yesterday night, trying to DELIBERATELY do a long PAUSE, after my second play on the notes of the A major scale, before continuing. . I had the idea you shared in your video, in mind. Thanks. It made sense, especially as I had tried to start out accenting the first Note. Been doing bits and pieces on my phrasing but you gave me reason to start afresh TOWARDS BETTER SOLOING on guitar. Can I ask a question; I get confused seeing some people on UA-cam saying ... Do a Bend on the Root note. Some others say ' it's a " no no no!" Pretty confusing. Why the emphasis on it? What exactly is right to do, seeing that if I bend to a note that suits the sound of the Root note, I am somewhat still playing the Root note? Thanks again and God bless you.
best way to do that is bend and vibrato....and learning about the major thirds to each chord boost phrasing with blues....bend and vibrato, and using thirds makes blues the best
@daveyjones457 Thanks. I liked your teaching style and felt it would be useful to ask, as I'm beginning to learn appegios. I will keep looking out for SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND classes on appegios. Some that I have watched have not really delivered it , looking at the complete mess the beginner in appegios, is in. Thanks for the efforts you intend to also make, though. God bless you.
So an arpeggio simply means "broken chord" .... so what you're doing is taking a chord shape and picking each note instead of strumming... so at its most basic form, you can just practice picking these chords in different shapes and different inversions around the neck... but the shape of an arpeggio is at its core just a basic chord shape
@@daveyjones457 Thanks. I usually love detailed or exhaustive enough takes, to balance my understanding. That's why I tried looking out for more information. Most videos kept throwing a 1 3 5 7 at me. At the back of my mind, I kept feeling.. Isn't that same as me creating a Chord, considering Triads? I guess it was their application in some videos and maybe their delivery, as if forgetting that one is just starting to learn it. I headed to Stitch's channel. He's got a ver-y down to earth ( including real time thoughts for a beginner on an aspect of the guitar) delivery. Better still, he includes a wealth of illustrations and analogies and it just often comes better. He simply said Chord tones, appegios and triads are the same thing, but they may come having a different way of looking at things. Well, that clarified my " ...isn't that a triad ..." Bit. I'm grateful to all of you who help others grow. God bless you and thanks for taking time to reply. You are correct on them (explanations in your reply). One of the confusions I had, was What if I'm playing a Barre chord? What notes (considering the 1, 3 5, 7 I kept seeing all over), would I now pick, in my appegios, considering that an E shape Barre chord would for instance, have 2 Notes coming in, in some strings. That thought messed up the ' isn't that a triad? Feeling. I'd asked someone how then would I play a Barre chord, with many notes in it, given that I was playing in a 4 4 time signature. The answer didn't really address my confusions. Well, Stitch took hold of my attention, as he went out of his way to focus on the notes the viewer should be picking, in the appegio, in that Barre chord setting. Thanks again to every real teacher here and God bless you all.
I keep seeing videos on here saying "The secret" there's nothing in this video that's a secret I already know it, and so do thousands of others, and if it is a secret, you shouldn't be telling anybody, I wouldn't trust you with any of my secrets.

This a Good blues guitar lesson its the way to play good blues solos, but takes alot of practice to remember it all, lol.

What was your favorite way to practice phrasing? With backing tracks? Albums? Looper pedals? Or?
I usually prefer a backing track
Zen
