      Foam and Lizards would Drylock work to create a little pond area? It is waterproof so I think I can just build up a little 2x2 inch wall that has a bit of water in it for a terrarium. Do you think this would work? I have a paladarium with a waterfall and I think it would be cool for the waterfall to go into a little pond before it hits the main part. Any reply would help, thanks

    The 2 part mix you used is better than silicone. After some time, the silicone degrades (when used with foam, soil mixes, and then going from wet/dry), starts to peel, and looks like heck. Everybody copies each other on UA-cam, so of course, they don't know this.

      Question, how much would you say it costed you to build that waterfall?

    • @foamandlizards9160
      @foamandlizards9160  6 років тому

      Well that depents, because alot of stuff you can use many times more (like foam, grout, paint and epoxy resin), so it's very hard to say. Those things make the build very expensive, unless you want to build something big or more vivariums.
      But this is what i paid:
      pump: 20 euro
      Foam: 10 Euro
      Styrofoam: 8 euro
      (Concrete)Paint (4 colors) +- 60 euro
      Epoxy resin 20 euro
      Grout : 15 Euro
      Elastopur: 23 euro (although you dont need it for the waterfall)

    • @bigbrotherv222

      Foam and Lizards ahh okey well thank you, i am getting my pump in today so i will start getting ready to build it, so that list helps alpt thanks!

    Nice video good job... when you place the pump for the waterfall it seems to sit on the vivarium floor after the polystyrene ends the expanding foam doesn't seem to go the the floor. Is the pump then surrounded by the Leca. layer.

    @Foam and Lizards,
    Heya. I am from Sweden and I am thinking of using an old vertical aquarium to make a Terrarium/Vivarium/Pandarium. Well, either way, I am not planning to house any life forms. I know I want a body of water as a reservoir for the pump but also a reservoir, high up for a potential fog maker. I am going to have a key feature as an Orchid that gather moisture from the air. As consequence, I need to ensure that fog maker has a water reservoir at least 2-3CM deep.
    But, I can't find ANY information on expanding foam. What should you avoid? Any particular ingredients and such? There is no real brand to go toward in Sweden so... I have to resort to asking ya.

    • @foamandlizards9160
      @foamandlizards9160  6 років тому

      Hey there! As far as I know you can use any expanding foam that is on the market. As long as you make sure it has a chance to dry for a long period of time (lets say 2 - 3 weeks) you will be okay:) Good luck with your build, sounds like a great project!

    wonderful. Look for 100% silicone in your nearest hardware store is might be cheaper than the glue.
