The Habitat :
This depends on the type of frog that you own. There are three basic types of habitats that you’ll encounter: arboreal, terrestrial, and aquatic.
Tree-dwelling species will need an arboreal enclosure. These tanks are much taller than they are wide, allowing you to put vines, branches, and other decorations inside for your frog to climb on. They also do better in terrariums than aquariums (all this means is you want a tank with vents at the bottom).
Larger frogs or toads or any species that doesn’t jump that high might prefer a terrestrial cage. These look like basic aquariums, and they’re wider than they are tall. You can use a terrarium or aquarium for land-based frogs, but be sure to put a lid on the top so they don’t hop right out.
Aquatic species live in the water. You’ll need an actual aquarium for these, as they will be full of water. The size of the tank will depend on how many frogs and what species you’re keeping.

Glad to see I'm not the only one stealing lids from the kitchen to be used in random DIY projects. Superb, as always.
Thank you so much,LOL,Sometimes,Some trash is available ♥️
I guess, I will be down voted for this, but I am highly skeptical of this build. Large parts of the paludarium consist of exposed construction foam which has a large surface area due all its little bubbles and cannot be cleaned. The plants are set in a way such that I have a hard time to believe that they will thrive. Instead, many of them will simply die. Finally, the water body is way too small for any fish, let alone neon tetra, a swarm fish that needs a large volume for swimming.
The method shown in the video is a common technique used for years by those in the paludarium/terrarium keeping hobby
Some fish would do great in this build, like dither fish. I feel that dwarf rasboras Would do well also. It is true that tetras need more space tho
@@ichrised idk if not giving the fish enough space is part of any ‘technique’ chief
@@farrtlek I'm pretty sure he meant the technique where he used expanding foam to create a natural landscape, which is completely harmless for the fish
@ichrised Yes,you are right.
This is amazing! However, I wonder what soil/substrate you are using for the plans? How are they surviving? The overall impact is one of awe and wonder. Well done indeed!
I think that the plants used are epiphytes, hence no need for soil or substrate :)
@@okurrt5836 correct, those plants dont need soil.
He usually fits some moss or even microfiber cloth in the crevices to wick moisture and give his plants room to anchor their roots.
Some plants are epiphytes, and some plants needs soil, which is Peat soil. sorry,I forgot to record.
sometimes I use microfiber cloth in the crevices to wick moisture
they are all correct.
This is so soothing and inspiring!!! I'd love to start this hobby someday!!!
Thank you.Look forward to seeing yours.
Hope to know how the water flow...because you didnt show us about it.
How many cycles should I clean this? I can't make it but I really want to own it.
once a week!!
Man this is so beautiful. U literally feel for the frog, where it belongs to the natural habitat.
Thank you so much!!
Interesting choice leaving the foam bare instead of covering it with silicone and some sort of substrate. It has a cool texture how you cut it that I like but I’d be worried it would harbor way too much bacteria and be potentially harmful to any animals
yea it's not a great idea
I have been wanting a frog, what type is this one that is featured in this video? its so cute
Since the terrarium is open don’t the frogs jump out.
Currently building a paludarium for my Amazon milk frogs and being told by multiple people that I should not add fish because it will cause water quality issues detrimental to the fish and the frogs. What are your thoughts?? This build looks so beautiful. My frogs are quite a bit bigger though
Thank you so much! Your paludarium sounds amazing, and Amazon milk frogs are such a great choice! As for adding fish, it really depends on how you manage the water quality. With proper filtration and regular water changes, it's possible to maintain healthy conditions for both frogs and fish. Just make sure to choose fish that are compatible with the frogs’ environment and won't stress them out. Good luck with your build!
I have a 30x30x60 tank and I thinking of getting Australian brown tree frogs. would this set-up in the video suit some fish and a frog in my tank?
I think is OK.
I am new to all of this. So, do you have a closed watercycle here? the waterfall feeds the pond where the fish swim, and this water is pumped to the waterfall again? why dont you need a filter in this case?
In builds like this, the plants that take their water from the waterfall act as a natural filter so in most cases adding a filter isn’t really necessary.
But if you add species that strongly contaminate the water (like frogs that poo into the water or fish that pollute a lot), adding an additional filter or doing frequent waterchanges becomes necessary.
I have a similar setup without a filter and so far I haven’t had to do a single waterchange even tough the tank is running for over a year.
@@yourlocaltoad5102 Thank you for your answer. you are professional.
@@ferretwonderland How do the plants grow? Where is the soil? Or is the foam some sort of a special mix or something? My mind is currently blown.
Submersible pump.plants and soil.
@@yourlocaltoad5102 but how is all the plant got the water actually?? is this set up make the water run under the foam too?? because if its straight down i'm not sure that the plant on the far side can get it..
Jestem pod wrażeniem. Świetna robota i wspaniały efekt. Mogę na to patrzeć godzinami na ten zaczarowany spokój.

Absolutely love the video and enclosure their a wonderfully crafted piece of art and truly inspiring👏🏻 I must go now so I can attempt to make something similar and hope everyone has an amazing day and wish everyone the best of health🙏🏼 in these crazy times 🙋♂️✌️
Thank you for loving it. Hope world peace!!!
Everything looks so nice, and that homemade cover lid is also awesome
Thank you for loving it.
How quiet is your water pump? What is the most quiet you’ve seen? Thank you!
what kind of frog is that
Just went down a rabbit hole of watching your videos! Well shot and beautiful work!
Thank you for your message.I am so glad.
I wish there was a list of everything used to try and make one myself.
Wouldn't that be nice.....and kind?!
Im about to start a project and this was very inspiring. In question though, does your tank have an opening at the front? Wouldnt the frogs jump out or get too low humidity? Do you have a removable front above the water?.
I'm glad you found the project inspiring! In regards to your question, this tank does have an opening at the front, but I've taken precautions to prevent the frogs from escaping. I've installed a removable front panel above the water to ensure the frogs stay inside and to maintain the required humidity levels.
Hey, sorry to be this guy but next time you melt plastic please do it outside so you don't breath the fumes. Stay safe.
Thanks for the concern! I’ll make sure to be more careful in the future and do it outside. Stay safe too!

Thank you so much!!gracias
heey could u plss tell me what type or maby evenbrand of mister/fogger u use? i need something that produces the same and i am broke haha.
I'm not sure about the brand of the mistermaker.
Most aquarium mistermaker on the Internet can be used.
disfruté mucho tu video, un exelente trabajo

Absolutely love this build! You're a master. Can I ask what kind of moss you used?
A step by step explanation of how and why you're building would be really useful for us beginners
Thank you for your message.I am so glad to see it.
While this is a great build and that would be helpful to some. There are many creators like Dr. plants who do those explanations. Its okay for a few of these artists to just display their creative process without having to take the steps of informing us about every step. I get it, its great to know. But these creators aren't all required to fill the niche of tutors.
Try terrarium designs channel too if you want some instruction. There are a few really great instruction channels.
What is the exact tank size because i wanna do the same thing but i dont know if ill be able to fit in my room or not
40x40x45CM
Don't the plants need some kind of soil to survive for very long?
There is soil in the plant pot.
Yo guys what if our Universe was created by a guy like him as a weekend project in glass jar.......
So will you be happy?

Great Job, that's really inspiring! And ... such a cute frog! 👍
Thank you so much!!
Hello i like you video, the water isnt too deep for the frog ? If she go in water
Thank you for loving it.In the wild, they need water and also know where is safe.
Man, ive been banging my head as to what to add to my foam after i carve it, do i glue sand, coco, or a mixture of peat an coco ..... none of them seemed natural - after seeing this, im just going to carve it to look like rocks an let the natural look take over. I really like that idea, nice set up - even though we all lile it, i bet the frog loves it! 🤣
Beautiful video and build! I'm interested to know exactly what expanding foam brand/product you use. I'm interested in building my own paludarium and want to know of a safe product I can use. Thank you!
Frogs are so chill they just sit there
They often spend a lot of their time sitting or floating in water, especially in a well-maintained and comfortable environment.
What size is the Aquarium/Terrarium/ Paludarium?
60x45x60cm
Do you ever worry about your tree frog jumping out of the tank?
The tank has a door.
What brand is the “expanding foam”?
scapepro
That frog is in actual frog heaven. Endless food and water supply, zero predators and no neighbours
Hope the frog enjoys it.
can u give us the total price of all this plz I wanna build it my budget is 100$ to 200$
200$ ,Maybe okay, But you need to spend a lot of thought and time
You can do something similar for 200$, but you will need to find ways to cut the cost.
Try finding a used tank on craigslist or a similar page and check on forums for terrariums to see if there are cheap versions of the silicone and foam available to you that are safe to use for pets. Follow the information online closely, as many cheap brands of silicone and foam contain substances that can be very harmful to your pets.
Also maybe you can find plants for cheap when looking in facebook groups of other people that have terrariums as many often give away cuttings for free or at a very low price.
And most important: make sure you have a good plan of what you want to do and which materials to use before starting.
Nothing is more uncomfortable than finding out that you didn’t plan for something and then run into additional costs because of that.
I can't help but whenever i think of a scaper who uses rocks will have a stack pile of rocks to store while choosing only the pieces they need each time they scape and for you. Just a bottle or two of foam to do the same thing. Hahaha. Still your work is inspiring and your gift to cut foam into rocks is marvel much by me. Respect.👍
Give the fish more space!
I may have missed it...but what does the frog eat?
fruit flies
What is it for a frog?
that looks great but.... if you are building an enclosure and plan on having free roaming food source (crickets) DO NOT use polystyrene.. they will burrow in and pollute your water... something i learned the hard way
Absolutely, breathtaking!!
Sign me up!!! I'd like to take a class!!!!
Does the foam not absorb the water over time?
The foam is generally not absorbent, so it should not absorb water over time. However, it's important to ensure that the foam is fully cured and dry before placing it in water to avoid any potential issues.
Great channel and amazing video. Shared and subscribed to channel.
Thank you so much!
How does the expanding foam do in the water without any resin coat(or whatever you use)? Will it get mushy over time or something?
Black expanding foam is a specific type used in outdoor pond building
Yes,Black expanding foam is a specific type used in outdoor pond building. It's for exological landscaping.
what are thevfurst plants you put in?
Time?
tetras need more space. :(
ok
Great! But how did you get the mist?
Mist maker.
I saw you used the planting pots for some plants but for the moss and the other plants, do you glue them to the foam?
Yes.I glue the moss to the foam.
Wow that is beautiful😮. A question if you dont mind, do you feed your frog by hand, since any live insects would drown in the water?
Hola, y el filtro donde lo pones?
Hola Lo puse detrás de la pecera
Absolutely beautiful! It looks so tranquil!
Thank you so much 😊
What kind of foam do you use?
Neon tetra? It's black neon hahaha
Yes,they are black.
What if the frog falls into the water
They can swim
I absolutely love this and everything in your channel! Great inspiration set upsn
Thank you so much!!
You are inspiration! New sub from Australia ❤️🇦🇺
Maybe you could put some neon green rasboras instead of the tetras they are tiny neon green fish and they swim fast so i dont think the frogs would eat them. Nice video too i really enjoed seen the tiny frogs and the beautiful waterfall👌
most amazingly, beautifully, created frog habitat and fish home. You are an artist of design,
I will try to make that but it looks impossible you have talent😁
Can you please tell me where I can find the glass tank?
I just LOVE frogs. All of it damn it.
Your videos are so BEAUTIFUL. 🥰
You inspire me so much and now I just have to do this kind of setting for my eight african dwarf frogs.
Even though they stay under water, something like this would make the whole scene even more interesting and far more realistic.
It's wonderful that they have inspired you to create a captivating setup for your eight African dwarf frogs. Adding a realistic and interesting environment can greatly enhance their well-being and provide a visually appealing setting for you to enjoy.
I hope your aquarium project turns out to be as beautiful and engaging as you envision!
Hey, I’m a general contractor and we use those gap-filling foams. And I got 9 boxes full of it in my garage. Do I need to get a specific one for aqua/terra riums? Or will these work too?
I bought it specifically for aquarium.
Not a huge fan of the ‘raw’ black insulation foam. Other than that one small critique it looks awesome!
I wanna be this frog
Do you like fruit flies?
@@ferretwonderland :) Not really,but I could handle them

Will this type of setup work for tree frog? Have the water at the bottom?
this is freaking relaxing fr
edit: i was wondering... don't plants die if u just put them in the foam?
Thank yoy so much!!You have to wait it to dry and put them in the foam.
If you look at the other comments the type of plants are explained and why they don’t need soil, I myself cannot quote the specific type of plant sorry.

How do the plants survive ? You just place them on foam but how/from what do the roots pull nutrients ?
Fish waster and soil.
Can your plants live in that foam you use? Like can they actually take root and grow, how do you give them nutrients and things to grow in the foam?
Plants are filled with soil.

How big so those frogs get

Your video production is equally as magnificent as your paludarium!!
Soo beautiful, but please put the fishes into some bigger tank, they need more space❤️
