Easy to Make Two Running Waterfalls Terrarium
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 бер 2024
- I've made several waterfall terrariums over the years, but none have been “easy to make.” I set out to make a more accessible version of this style of build using fewer materials and simple techniques. I still wouldn't consider this to be a beginner build, but I think it could be easily replicated with a little practice and finesse. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, though, and I hope you all enjoy the video/project.

As you know, I thoroughly enjoy making terrariums and waterfalls. I've made a few of these over the years, but I'd say that most were fairly complex. I dialed things back for this one in hopes of simplifying the process. I hope you all enjoy the video and have a great weekend!
💚
So happy!!!! This is the kind of video I was looking for from you❤❤❤ mind reader?.....anyway I can't wait to show my great niece❤
This video made my day
Hey serpa it's me again lawson and I was gonna tell you a great idea. You could get a purple and blue crawfish in a darkwater setup that's overplantes and has blue and purple tetras swimming around. ❤ Love you videos your fan Lawson Soza
Hey Tanner I've been watching for at least 3+ years and just wanted to tell you I have really enjoyed your evolution over the years. Keep doing what makes you happy, and I'm pretty sure I'll just keep watching you do what makes you happy... Thanks, Tanner!
So is nobody going to acknowledge how clean the cardboard tube flip was
Not until he admits how many takes it took to get that shot 🙂
It was so deadpan too 😂
at least im not the only one
I was wondering the exact same things - was that in one take Tanner?!!
Clearly It was filmed in reverse...
I loved how much you were engaged in the video rather than doing your usual voice over, it made the video seem more positive and fun to wach. Over all it was a great video and i hope can you make more like it
I agree! It feels like it’s easy to learn and grasp the ideas
I still can't believe how strong you're going. I feel like some creators kind of loose their original spirit when they switch to a bigger setup but not you. You're just making incredible stuff and it is still accessible for us. It's very nice to have you back after you moved.
I would also like to show you the terrarium I did in a beer keg one day.
I'm 1.5 minutes in and ALREADY impressed with the camera usage. Good on you with the new-ish space and success you have found here.
Your videos have become one of my favorite weekend rituals.
Same😅
This was exactly what I was looking for! I've been marveling at your water features for years but living in a small appartment I don't have access to a lot of the bigger tools so I've been hesitant to try them myself. I do however have a vase of similar dimensions, a spare mini pump, a box of lava rocks and a hot glue gun. That's my Sunday sorted tomorrow! Thanks Tanner!
Good luck! ^-^
I think this is great! Some of your builds are so incredible it seems inaccessible for beginners. This is a great step into the hobby. I love it.
I would love some smaller video's dedicated to specific techniques. Like one on just cutting and working with glass, one on collecting and propagating moss and plants, working with silicone and how to clean up after, Things like that would be awesome to reference quickly without trying to remember which video we saw them in.
good suggestions!
He has made a video "How to propagate moss" and another "Collecting and identifying moss". Also in his earliest videos he had this series "How to Terrarium" with the basics. None with the glass or silicone, though. Tanner, you could do short videos on techniques and assemble them into a playlist, maybe?
❤...I do love when you demonstrate the ones that are easier! I have made 4 smaller terrariums now that are sealed using native plants and 2 even have Nana petite! I have not opened any of them! The water cycle continues and they are not overgrown!
Been working on a similar project for a while. It's quite the challange
I tried those tiny round pumps too - they last about a week. You're right to warn people off those. Great tips on making the pump accessible - I've been pondering over how to do that for ages, thanks!
I use them a lot and they just need a very fine intake screen and you need to prime them with water to make sure there's no air in the propeller chamber, I've had a few that have lasted over 3 years as a result
@@mhartim8749 yeh I used them in full on mini filter systems so zero debri reaching them, and no need to prime iff well under water. I've thrown 20 away, only 3 still working after a few months, so I only get the more powerful ones now
I love all of your designs! makes my day when there is a new one
A mini forest, magical.
You kidding me. Just building a cabinet and was having issues on how to go about with the pump and here this video comes 😅
Cheers!
This is amazing as always! Makes me want to get back into the hobby I’ve missed watching your videos! Thanks for another amazing upload! 😊
I can tell you loved this project! Great episode. Just finished a mini pond in the backyard. It’s about 400 gallons. Was a chore but so glade to have it!
Awsum build, i love petrified wood, could you do a build with some of that rock, would love to see your take on it, thanks
I love how you can properly use your backdrop now, it really makes everything looks so much nicer :)
Tanner, your videos have come such a long way! I can't imagine all the editing it takes for what you put out these days. It's also nice to see your personality shine through! You once said you wanted to strike a balance among releasing high quality videos, keeping your content true to your vision, and avoiding feeling pressured. I think you've struck that balance and I appreciate it, so thank you!
I appreciate these simpler builds from time to time specifically because I feel like this is more accessible for people who want to try something like this themselves! I have a little mini water pump laying around and if i ever find a jar like this i may give this one a shot. I'd love to see a video or even a short just explaining how to maintenance something like this, like how often to top it off with more water or where to keep it so it gets enough natural light, or ehen things might need a trim. Really neat build though!
Tanner, you are truly remarkable! Have been watching for awhile now and that's all I have to say...truly remarkable..❤
Thanks, Tanner. Love hearing you assess the challenges and opportunities of each project, and seeing how you handle them. The finished environment always shows your imagination, skills and care.
Awesome build as always! I really like the info about small pumps. Had no idea that smaller is noisier. I may upgrade my pump since it’s so noisy. This waterfall feature looks so peaceful. I’d sit there and enjoy it all day. ❤ Have a blessed day! Much love to you and your wife. 🙏🏻
I have a suggestion for a terrarium, you could make a breeding setup for meal worms that would serve as food for your frogs and big tony
This is stunning and I really appreciate how accessible it is! Also, the editing for this video is so fun and full of personality. I think this is one of my favorite videos on the channel.
Thank you for showing us how to make this masterpiece!!!!!!!!
This is my favorite part of every Saturday! I think just watching your work over time has built up my knowledge and skills.
I've watched a bunch of your videos over the past few days, first as some relaxing background while I settled down for the night, and then with increasing levels of interest. I've never really thought about terrariums before. I didn't keep any bugs, fish, or reptiles growing up, so they were never really on my mind, and I wasn't even aware that terrariums like this were a thing until very very recently (and I'm in my mid-30s!) I have cats which can make keeping certain plants concerning, and I struggle with indoor plants, but the idea of a closed terrarium like I've seen in some of your videos intrigues me very much, and could potentially help with both of those problems. I might give one a go sometime soon. I even have a great, wide vase that some flowers were delivered in last month for Valentines to put it in. I just need to fabricate some kind of secure lid. :)
I just wanted to say thank you for what you do, and that you've inspired someone who just a few days ago didn't know anything about this hobby. Your work is so beautiful, and I'm excited to give this a try!
Creative and inspiring yet simple enough for everyone to follow along with. Thank you!
I love how accessible this build is ! Love watching your videos just to marvel at your builds but with this I actually feel like I might be able to make something like this ☺️
You seem really happy to have made this video, seeing how far you've come is so inspiring. Keep up the amazing work.
Beautiful! Thanks for demonstrating a build that is easier for us who follow you. Looking forward to trying it out!
This turned out gorgeous.
I love putting Charcol in builds, glad you mentioned it. Loved this video thanks again.
I don't understand why UA-cam stopped suggesting your content to me. It's some of my favorites.
Yo I haven't watched your videos in a while, I like the new style and the extra explanations, I think it's what a lot of viewers want!
Loved this video format! A fun change to a classic video
just got a really cool terrarium jar and was taking a look at videos and WOW this popped up and now I have a plan! thank you and please keep up the builds.
Tanner, maybe do a collab with somebody that doesn't have your skills. A youtuber that wrenches on cars, fi. See if it's really that easy. Yogurt underestimate your own skill level, I think.
Your super talented and your easy is hard for us normal able humans.
No critics, on the contrary. I love your work!
Oh I love this idea!! Like a “make with tanner” series?
Oh man, I love this idea! A series with Tanner and other creators sounds so cool! It would also be interesting to see Tanner build with other terrarium creators as well as non-terrarium creators who have never built anything like this. Awesome idea 👍
Very excited to see how this turns out
Really enjoyed the simplicity of this build. We all love the crazy complex builds but something like this once in a while makes for great filler while you're juggling other projects.
Fantastic video as usual, thanks for all the explanation.
wow! the editing in this vid is amazing! and the build is beautiful as always! fantastic video
I love the tree moss!
Thanks for great video, these are always so relaxing. Your music choices are on point. Also the new-ish setup you have for filming is coming out really nicely. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for making an informative knowledge based video without showcasing a terrible sense of humor!! Very well done, editing and camera work top notch.
Beautiful as always
Such talent and skill. You did it well 👍👍
You look great in a hat. I've been subscribed for a long time and I've seen you try several different video styles, but this one was next level. I can tell just how much thought and care went into this video. Great work!
As always you have something for everyone. Thank you i love your videos❤
Nice to see your editing style speeding up (not that I didn't like the slower, previous one though ;) )
Cheers!
ouu so snappy this video just feels good cheers tanner!
this is amazing! I've bought stuff to make one myself and now you've made it even easier! I appreciate this so much (no need to buy a glass cutting drill- yay!)
your videos are so good :) and we appreciate everything that you do!
that was really cool, thank you. seems like an achievable project with a little patience
Really excellent work, Tanner! This was a great art lesson disguised as a terrarium build.
🎉Wow Tanner! You look great in that super-cool shirt!
Such a cool video. Beautiful
pretty cool! i love terrariums, keep up the good work!
Love this video as it makes it look very easy as a beginner project. 😊
That’s really nice man you really do excellent work
I love this!!!
I really aplaud your skills. ❤
Looks awesome 🤩 a big cork with a groove cut for the cable and a small waterproof LED would be perfect to keep it it up on a shelf 🤔😁
Beautiful build and love the video 😊😊😊
Beautiful and simple! I only wish you added a larg plant on top of the waterfall spilling out of the jar, it would hide the cable and give a reason for no lid 🥰
Totally awesome and I love it.🤠🤠🤠
I really enjoyed this video! It's a bit going back to the roots when you built small terrariums in jars and so. Your larger projects are very impressive and also fun to watch but it's easier for us to try building something similar if it's a small (and cheaper) project!! 👍
I liked the demonstration of the actual techniques, a nice change up. Your usual videos are great too but usually focus more on aesthetics than the actual craft. Would love more like this now and then. :)
Awesome!
Great job 👍
Thank you! Nice work
Love this
❤love the video great work
I like the effect of that smaller compact scale, I'm trying out a few bottle projects, a larger scale ant farm and a bigger set up I've started recently.
Thank you for the Ideas and inspiration it's fun to try and create
great vid!
You are such a great orator and content creator. I’m sure your wife is very proud of you. Can you paint more backgrounds. You are a good painter too. You should work your painting skills into the tank builds. But I understand that might be too much considering you build everything by hand.
so good
i think the tiny waterfalls are my favorites of yours, even though im a huge fish guy
You can stretch Saran Wrap over a glass jar, stretch it tight so no wrinkles, then trim with a razor blade just below the lip. It’s virtually invisible.
GREAT EXPLANATION SHOW :)
THANK YOU FOR SHARING :)
THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
If you ever decide to start selling some of your builds, I would definitely buy.
Beutiful, thank you
Шедеврально !!! ❤
This man is my hero
I use those USB pumps in quite a few of my builds, most of the time it being noisy is due to an air bubble in there, you kind of have to prime them to make sure there's nothing but water in the propeller area. However it really varies from pump to pump since they are so inexpensive and the durability does too, still one of my go to pumps for nano tanks though
This is such a good video, I awuascape a lot but terrariums have always scared me a little, the idea of the false bottom is just weird to me lol. This makes me really wanna tack it so I can set one of these on a shelf in my bedroom! Thanks Tanner!!!
Another banger video
I love this fit you look like a techno dj
you should look into the wireless version of these pumps, they look the same and can connect through glass to a charging pad.
Keen as man
It's beautiful & inspirational! Thank you for sharing this with us!
I missed one thing though: The springtails 😁
But maybe they are not really needed in this terrarium?
Another great way to make super strong glue and debris structures is mixing saw dust, sand, and white glue together. It's probably not great for water tank usage of course but i can see it in a dry spider enclosure or something like that. I discovered it by accident while making a wooden box sanding the rough edges, but i hated the seems in the box so i mixed the debris from the sanding which also had a bit of sand from the sandpaper in it and made a paste with regular Elmers glue and wedged it between the seams. I had excess and left it on the side as my box dried and was surprised to feel how concrete like it felt after drying, it was like playing with a chipped off edge of a piece of cinder block, i didn't know wood shavings, sand, and Elmers glue had that kind of power. Although Elmers glue was enough, i'm sure switching it out for a stronger glue would be better.
Wall looks eminence tanner. Best advice i can give is get your logo on the background big and highlighted so it shows of your amazing feature wall
Thank you
As an alternative to a pump, id suggest a an airpump and a lift tube. As the bubbles rise, they will bring a trickle of water with them. It wont move a lot of water, but it can provide a constant trickle.
It would be nice to wrap the pump wire with that green plant tape to help it blend in! Perfect timing with this video for me, I was just fiddling with the same pump with a glass jar and needed some inspiration!
cool cool
Wish I had the space to practice this
Hah you make it look so easy :p mine always end up dead in a matter of months 😂 time for a retry this summer
So simple, I feel like I could do it!
However, pros make things look easy.
😅
