In this video, we explain about driving 2 different sized horses (in fact a horse and a pony) together as a pair. We broke Buttons to harness and his owners wanted him to go as a single and as a pair so that they could drive him alongside their other ponies. This video shows Buttons being driven alongside Roly and explains about driving 2 horses of different heights and why it can be done even if they are not a well-matched pair.

Good ol Roly. He was such a genuine beautiful soul
Roly was a generous fella, wasn't he? He had to travel just a tad crooked to make this work, but he just went to work on it. :)
These two work well, Sir Barry. Well done, Roly and Buttons...
What a good little puller tiny one is! Good length of stride too. There is such a lot to learn about adjusting harness, never mind the rest of it.
Going to get a standard donk and a miniature one. Glad to see I can work them together!
Oh Barry this is amazing 👏 both mine drive well separately
Feeling inspired ❤😊
Are little horses like little dogs, in that they don't know they're little? This was wonderful to see, so unusual, beautiful animals.
How sweet 💕 what a awesome role model for the little guy
This is the 1st time these 2 have been put together; most of the time they go straight except when they look at each other + when Buttons runs wide of the pole (shortens Roly’s coupling rein). If you look at 1:57, 2:38, 3:07, 4:50 onwards they go straight. If Roly goes a bit fast, this will shorten both coupling reins, meaning they look in. Sometimes when Buttons turns in, his coupling rein's slack (he’s putting his head there of his own free will, the reins aren’t holding their heads there).

Love Barry’s videos ❤️ rolly x
A very informative film. I was wondering if I could run a 17 hh Clydesdale with a 9 hh Shetland - This would definitely be useful for us to be able to train the pony with the commercial horse. We really enjoy these very informative films. Thank you.
i thought this video was very educational and beautifully filmed... i like the way the horses are synchronized and wiggle at the same time... also that the camera man keeps on bragging about the shiny hair. BTW the car is soo stranger danger, watch out missy! Good luck on your way.. I want more, can you give more horse wiggle to me? please? it is keeping me alive and motivated for the day and life that one day i might be able to ride or see one alive. in the #wildlife oh just so you know.... WHAT IS GOING ON
Omg so cute! I'm going to try that!!!!
nice video, basicly I have the same problem having a 15 2" and a 13 2" hackney...:-)
so magical looking!
This was probably quite common a hundred year's ago. People had to use what ever they had.
i agree with you, however you came here and whatever it might be that made you dig deeper into this, i am grateful that you did. Thank you for the detailed researched and your input in the fascinating subject of horse wiggles.

What size carriage are you driving these horses with? I have an 11 hand shetland pony and a 14.2 hand irish cob.
