Aww😍 What a lovely lad! Little Salem certainly enjoys himself, his ears pricked up the second he set off. You can instantly tell he's had good, kind training. An absolute pleasure to watch both handler and horse. He's a really sweet and handsome fellow. Subscribed in a heart-beat. I adore horses. Twenty years ago I had to have my beloved horse put to sleep, we were together for sixteen years. Her name was Angel, and yes, she lived up to her name,😇 I'll always treasure our memories 💓 I Lost a Friend with a Heart of Gold How I miss her can never be told Deep in my Heart she is Living Yet I Loved her too much to ever Forget
Hello, Beverley! 😊 Thank you for your kind remarks & welcome to my channel. Your horse Angel sounds like she was a very special horse. I love the poem that you wrote about her. It’s beautiful. 🥰 Do you currently have any more horses? 🐴
@@teddybeartheminiaturehorse3301 Hello. Thank You for your reply. Angel was my last horse, I haven't had horses since. Having just turned 60 and supporting myself it wouldn't be possible, so I'll be admiring these Beautiful animals from my chair 🙂💓 and watching your channel and your adorable mini's. Oh, and with my current pets on my lap, my Guinea Pigs 😀. My animals have shrunk in size as I've got older, it's been 5 years since my beloved dogs passed due to old age, 💔 but you have to do the kindest thing for them. Treasured memories with my girls too. Take Care and Keep Safe and I'll be tuning in soon 😍
I really enjoyed learning About harnessing a cart horse. I haven't had any exposure to it before. I love how conscientious you are. 🥰 It's also nice 👌the way you use voice commands. My horse training mentor taught me how to reduce all aids to voice commands and gentle leg pressure. No spurs or whips and rarely using bit pressure. Lol to Teddy's horse friends and all his 👋 people family too. 💌🐈🦓 Carole and the kitties.
I am so happy that you enjoyed the video & learned a little about driving. 😊 when the weather gets cooler I hope to do a bit more driving. Have a great week! ❤️😊🌹🦋🐴 And give your kitties a little kiss for me. 🐈🐈
Wow Nancy, this is amazing, all the things you know and show us how to do them , there's alot to know! 😍 Re checking is very smart to do too. Love how Salem stands so good and trots to your voice which is so sweet for them to understand 😊🐴 Great video 👏💖 really enjoyed this 🥰 Pet Salem and Teddy for me XO and all stay cool in this ....😎🍦🦋🌻👋Nancy...
Wow just found your channel and subscribed straight away. Really enjoyed this video. Glad I found you! I want to get my two minis driving and I've not done it before so currently soaking up everything I can.
My harness came with our Mini Salem when we bought him. It’s made out of US made biothane. It was handmade by an Amish farmer. If you wish, I can try to get his phone number for you.
I’m glad that it was helpful. My harness came with Salem. It was made by an Amish harness maker I believe in PA. I’m still good friends with Salem’s former owner. I believe that she has the info. I’ll see if I can get it for you. Tell me a little about your Mini. 😊🐴
That would be great! I LOVE the cart you have too. I like the way the shafts are made. I've been looking for something like it but so far I've struck out. Those shafts look like they work better than a straight shaft. Am I right?
I’m waiting to hear back from my friend. I love Salem’s cart. I bought the cart from G & S Carts. Sadly the cart maker is no longer making them. The shafts are really nice on it - very well balanced, & I think that they work better than a straight shaft.
Lilibette is my beautiful about to be 3 yr old mini. She is sweet, affectionate and loves learning, very smart. She was 9 mos when I bought her. She’s tri colored paint. Lili is my first mini. She lives with my Tara, an Arabian chestnut mare I trained and ride (western). 😁😎
I do not recommend not using a overcheck those prevent them bolting and running off on u. They are a safety thing for a reason my trainer says it's unsafe to not use one. And should always have one.
Also putting a pad on the breast collar and under saddle part is more comfortable and humane. They can get sores from those areas rubbing without harness pads
You are not permitted to use an overcheck in most driving shows. I belong to a driving club where they do not use overchecks. When I show in Miniature horse shows, you are required to use an overcheck. I drive both with & without. They do NOT prevent your horse from bolting. Believe me! I do not use an overcheck with my young Mini Teddy who is learning to drive by ground driving. Overchecks are actually not good to use with horses learning to drive, because it interferes with their balance when they are learning. 🐴
@@rushellealexandra5243 You must have a Miniature horse? What kind of shows do you show in? The rules are so different in the various shows. It’s quite confusing & frustrating. And then the sanctioned driving club that I belong to does not allow overchecks for their shows & events. They also do not use harness pads. UGHhhhh!!!! 🐴
Salem is such a good boy, He stands perfectly.
He’s a wonderful little horse! 😊🐴

So glad that you found my channel! This week I hope to show how to measure your horse or Mini for a harness. 🐴
Hello! Touching base to see if your friend got back to you yet on where Salem's harness equipment came from? Thx!
Still waiting on her. I should hear back by tonight.

Got it! Thank you 😊
Who was your cart maker in IL?
It was G & S Carts. Sad to say the cart maker (Gary) developed some health issues & is no longer making them.
What brand of harness is this? It's so hard to pick the right one. Thank you

I have pads for my harness, but do not use them during the summer. A good quality & properly fitting harness should not cause any pain or soreness. 🐴
@@teddybeartheminiaturehorse3301 i use pads year round ...and even at shows
