Gotta love a 22. New shooters can be interesting. After retirement I worked at a gun store in West Texas. Had a lady come in and ask for some ammo for a S&W Model 39, sold her a box of 9mm ball. Next day she brought the box back said it would not chamber in into the pistol. (???). Asked her to bring the pistol in, so she brings the pistol in, she had loaded the magazine. Ever seen a magazine where all the rounds were loaded backwards? Ok that was easily fixed but that level of lack of knowledge I found really disturbing. I referred her to a local female firearms instructor, so hopefully she wouldn’t hurt herself or others by accident. She did get much more knowledgeable and comfortable with the pistol. Long winded way of saying a female instructor may be a good idea for a woman learning less intimidating.
