- We have electricity! We’re on the grid.
Hubby has installed the power box on our electrical pole. We saved quite a lot of money by having him build the power box and doing the work himself. No bones were broken in the making of this video ;)
Here’s a list of materials used in this project and links to suppliers. Materials will vary depending upon your local electrical provider’s specification requirements.

👋 Mr Electricity scares me to death. Glad your hubby knows what he's doing! 😊
Hubby used tree climbing spikes to do ours. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for dropping by Mountain MawMaw. Your hubby sounds like a real lumberjack ;) Glad you enjoyed the video. - Donna
It appears your wife is under the impression that unconventional equals unsafe.

What kind of conductors/cables are used for overhead service like this? THHN?
Usually a self-supporting triplex or quadplex cable for overhead work, then properly sized copper or aluminum thhn down the riser pipe. Underground you can use direct bury cable, often called URD or tri-rated XHHW/RHW/URD, or XHHW pulled thru conduit.
The NEC is very specific on how services are built. See article 230 of that code and your utility construction specifications book for exactly how to build yours.
Love the Aluminum Ladder....hahahaha
Thanks for sharing guys!
