Very useful....added to my "relocation plan" ie list of crap I gotta know before I leave the suburbs for the rural life...thx
Thanks! Stick around, we plan to show the entire build of this homestead. You are welcome.

Fantastic for navigating the beginning steps.
If you have easy access to some, try pouring some water in the hole once you get started and let it soak when it's hard going like that. Takes the workload way down. How I have to build fence in the prairies. Alternatively you can blast the hole with a pressure washer if you have one. Great video!
Good ideas and thanks!!
Terrry
BIG THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO AND TEACHING US HOW TO INSTALL POWER POLE!! keep up the great work!!

Good stuff guys.

I can emphasize with you here, in Alabama we had red clay in the soil and it's like concrete. When its gets rough I end up getting a pick out along with my shovels
Its no fun, lol. I can not begin to tell you how many poles i have set over the years. Too many.
Terry
You need what we call a Crow Bar to break up that dirt when digging a post hole in that type of ground. You use the other end of the bar to do the ramming in of the dirt.
Its rough going for sure.

*@Survival Dispatch* I'm gonna guess that those trees are leaning *south* - leaning in the direction of the most daytime sunlight. Am I right?
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

An angry woman can make life hard for sure, lol.

Great video. For how long can one have a T pole before the permanent power has to be set up?
Good video. Maybe use pressure treated for the braces?
Yeah pressure treated would be best but we had the stuff laying around so we used it. Still holding up so far. Hopefully we get the houses built before it rots, lol.

@@ForestToFarm Good strategy. Use what you have with the crazy lumber prices
@@bobjones9727 Its sad what we are going through. There is more lumber than ever piled up everywhere yet they are yelling shortages. Hummm.

Hi i want to connect my shed and mobile home to the power but dont know if i need a temporary power pole or permanent?
what are the components on the 4-foot pole, I see the circuit box and outlet box, what are the others?
There is a panel, meter base, two 120v outlets GFCI protected and then the 100 amp service wire housed in the conduit running up the pole. We use direct burial wire for the service. We install two 120v 20 amp breakers to supply the outlets, one each of course. At times some contractors have 220v saws at which time we will install a 220v outlet and breaker to the specs they request. Then you need a ground rod and a copper ground wire running from the ground in your panel/meter set up to the ground rod which is driven next to the pole. Hope that helps.
