It’s crazy that this was just what I needed and here you are with a thorough routine. For me, it’s always the inconsistency and admittedly so, also the lack of knowledge on what to use and how to use it. I can’t wait to try your routine. Thank you so much.
@@anaissimmons3595 I’ve been using the versed press restart gentle retinol serum, ordinary’s glycolic acid, and I used another Kojic fade cream called carotone. I have been sticking to the routine since mid-January and yes my marks have gotten lighter. I don’t really spot treat, I just dab and put it all over my legs. I really want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for this video. I suffer from dermatillomania or compulsive skin picking disorder and the main areas I have damaged are my upper arms and my chest. I can’t wear many of the things I would like to because I feel like my scars make me so ugly. I figured out what my triggers are and what causes me to pick at my skin, I also have taken the step of seeking help from mental health professionals. Although it’s still a tough journey, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel that gets brighter and brighter every day! This routine has begun to smooth out my damaged skin and my spots have gone from black to now a medium brown! I do hope one day to be able to find a sympathetic dermatologist who won’t make me feel disgusting or weird because of my condition, but until then I’m glad I now have this routine! 🧡
I’ve really been enjoying the results from using Cyspera on my face. I sometimes use kojic acid soap after washing it off. This combination helps to maintain my even skin tone. You're beautiful the way God created you, and your scars are beautiful too for the people in your life that matter.
@@Moi_81 I have some huge scars too, especially on my ankle. Gnarly break from back in 1994 and 3 surgeries since. My ankle is about 30% bigger than the other and has 7 scars over 4 inches long. Some were stretched pretty wide due to swelling also so they look nasty. Makes for interesting conversation when I wear sandles. I just say, "should see the other guy."
Thank you for this!💗 I had eczema when I was younger that left some dark spots that anger me also out of nowhere I started getting spots on the back of my thighs. I have no clue why but I’ve been thinking of doing a tca peel on my body. But in the meantime this is the beginning.
Hi Dr Stephens! Great video as Always. Is it safe to use a chemical exfoliating body wash as well? If so, how often can we use if we add it to the routine you suggested?🙂
This is so helpful. I have hyperpigmentation from severe psoriasis on my arms and thanks to new treatments my psoriasis is finally under control but I still have all the spots. I’ve been seeing a little bit of improvement but I’m going to try some of these products to see if it helps speed things up.
Thank you so much for this video! I have hyperpigmentation in multiple areas on my body, but especially dark in my underarm area which has been there for most of my childhood (I am 20 now). I've tried using multiple products which either didn't work or barely worked. I am currently in the middle of using a fairly new hyperpigmentation treatment routine (aha body soap & glycolic acid toner) so I want to give it at least a couple months before I try this one. In the meantime I'll be looking for good alternatives to some of the products mentioned because they are currently outside of my budget 😭
I'm in my 30s but I still have multiple hyperpigmentation spots from having chickenpox when I was a kid. Is it worth using these products to treat them, or are the hyperpigmentation spots too old to treat now?
Same. Glycolic acid body lotion works but it going to take a couple of months to see a change. The inhibiting melanin lotion I'm still searching. I'm a try faded
Probably. I have dark marks from when I was 12 years old on my face and nothing prescribed has erased them fully. You’ll need to try a VI Peel for your body
Thank you! I not only have hyperpigmentation on my forearms, but my upper arm area where clothing covers it - can't wear physical sunscreen there. (Probably all from car in summer.) My right upper arm melasma has pretty much gone away - AFTER ONE YEAR. Patience is Needed.
Hi my comment might be late here. May I know please what treatment did you do or skincare brands did you use to treat your hyperpigmentation/melasma? May I also know what your skin type? I have similar problem, I have some dark marks on my upper arm, caused by skin trauma from laser treatments that I had in recent months
Is prescription strength azelaic acid (15%) effective for treating hyperpigmentation on the back? Or do you suggest using something stronger? I use it on my face everyday, but you mentioned that topicals used on the face might not be strong enough for hyperpigmentation on the body.
Great, great video!! A Dermatologist told me if you have hyperpigmentation due to genetics- a mask with a line then you will not be able to correct the discoloration. I wish I could get this derm thoughts on that.
Nice video, it is packed with quality information and I truly appreciate. I wish there were recommendations of products that were easily accessible globally and a little bit more affordable since it is for the body.
Thank you for this amazing content. I have scars from mosquito bites that I need to get rid of but not sure if I should be using the recommended products along with the Avene cream or just use the Avene as a stand alone. Thank you.

I love you channel. I'm so glad you always say to use sunscreen I have a e esthetician friend who says never to use sunscreen because it Cooks it into your skin. I'm not going to stop using sunscreen
I have been using the Topical for a couple of months now and I see a definite change 😁. Im very happy but it definitely takes time and patience and some spots are stubborn but I won't give up. I will incorporate what you have talked about in this video, I do use rose hip oil after I put on my face moisturizer and retinol also but on a different night. Thank You Doctor.😁♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🏾
1st thing that I noticed from this video: you are beautiful
Thank you for making this video. I have eczema and I am always looking for video on how to get rid of body hyperpigmentation. We need more of these videos please!
I hate hyperpigmention on my face
Dr. Stephens you’re truly God sent for folks like me who have suffered from hyperpigmented scars all my life. I scar easily. I had chicken pox as a child and also suffered from mosquito bites that ended up scaring. This has really affected my self esteem. I will try these but really think I would need help from someone like you. How do I get an appointment with you?
Great job explaining everything!!! Truly love your work and am beyond glad I’m subscribed, it’s so fascinating learning about our bodies and the different things they need we don’t always pay attention too.
Hello! Can you show us your updated skin care routine and current products used please? 😊
What do you use to make your skin glow?😊
Dr.Alexis I love, love, love your content!!!! You give excellent product recommendations and explanation as to why and you take the guess work out of how to use them!!!!! It’s been a blessing and inspiration to see you and other dermatologist of color addressing skincare with our unique issues!!!! Thank you so much dear!!!

I absolutely loved loved loved this video it kind of made me want to cry because although I do not know what it’s like having experience with hyperpigmentation but my boyfriend has hyperpigmentation and it’s honestly one of the most things he very insecure about I’ve been trying to help the best way I can with just moisturizing the skin or using just a regular sugar scrub but this video was soooo informational!!! I can’t wait to try the routine n get the things needed because I feel like I’m so much more now. You also talk very well paced n I don’t feel like I’m being thrown a thousand things at once! First video and definitely subscribed!
I absolutely love you I have a whole journal full of notes from watching all your videos! You are wonderful 😁🙏🏽
This video was pure gold!!!!

(2) Kojic acid soap. (3) The ordinary Niacinamide serum. (4) The ordinary Alpha arbutin serum. (5) Good molecules discoloration serum. (6) The ordinary Gyclonic toner. (7)The ordinary Aha+bha peeling solution. (8) Admire mu skin Ultra-potent brightening serum. (9) Cerave Vitamin C serum. (10) Cerave Lotion. (11) The ordinary Azelaic acid. (12) Cerave Lotion. (13) Australia Gold botanical tinted Face spf 50. (14) Neutrogena hydro boost spf 50.
Hi Alexis thanks for your amazing content as usual. Please may you let us know which oil you recommended to us in the video. Thanks
PTL Dr. Stephen…I am 72, just now trying to care for my skin. I am dealing with facial hyperpigmentation because of diuretic medication. Could you address women over seventy, thank you for sharing 💯🌹.
I'm white and I have dark marks, even on areas that haven't had injury. She's right, it happens to all of us. It would indeed be nice to be one shade. Honestly though, don't obsess about it! You're beautiful the way God created you, and your scars are beautiful too for the people in your life that matter.
🙄
And now I’m going to find all of these products!! They need to give you codes for all the promotion you give them. ☺️☺️
BEST video out there. Thank you so much!
Everything you recommend I try it and it works! So happy I found you lol 💕
@Latesha Renee , what did you sue for dark armpits?
I'm in my 30s but I still have multiple hyperpigmentation spots from having chickenpox when I was a kid. Is it worth using these products to treat them, or are the hyperpigmentation spots too old to treat now?
Very good question, I'd like to know too.
Im in the same boat as u and have been using kojic acid soap it is helping
Same. Glycolic acid body lotion works but it going to take a couple of months to see a change. The inhibiting melanin lotion I'm still searching. I'm a try faded
waiting for response
Patience is
Needed.
Thank you Dr. Stephens. I’m going to purchase all the products recommended. What was the oil you had in your hand? You didn’t mention.
This video was amazing! Thank you and maybe next time you do another one, let us know what at-home tools you recommend within this regimen.
most thorough I've seen!
I am so so so grateful for this video an will be trying everything. Is MEDIX 5.5 a good Retinol lotion as well?
UA-cam recommended this and I'm happy, new sub.
You're so prettyy❤ thank you so much h! You explain so well. I'm so thankful I found your channel
Thank you.
This video was EVERYTHING! Thank you so much! Im in Texas but I am coming to Florida to sit in your chair!
I have been patiently waiting for this video 🥰
Thank you Dr. Alexis for this very informative video, as always. I would like to know which oil do you are showing in the video. I think is a good idea to mix with the body cream. Thank you.
I need help with my teenage sons acne. It’s not too bad but I want to stop it before it gets bad. He uses Paula Choices BHa 2%. A video for him to watch would be great since teenagers think patents don’t know anything. Love your videos 💚💫❤️💫💚
Best video on UA-cam! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!
Gurll thank you for this. I watched with intent.
What about the hyperpigmentation under the bra at the belly? Is this still the same thing?
Hi Dr. Alexis!! Thank you for your channel. I’m relatively new to this skincare world, and your channel has changed the game for me. In reference to body care, I’ve always used regular soap like Dove. Are bar soaps not the best for the body?
Thank you so much for such informative videos. Sometimes you don't know what you don't know, so you do know where to start, these videos help
Hormonal imbalances pcos like you said pregnancy pre or menopause highly production of melatonin contributed to have hyperpigmentation also if early stages of Diabetes. Thank you for the tips .

✨Can you talk to us about how to treat Keratosis Pillaris ?
✨Also, I would like to know about the type of laser we can use for hyperpigmentation . Thank you ☺️
Get gold bond rough and bumpy cream from target and first aid K.P bump eraser from Sephora. Those 2 products have helped my keratosis Pilaris tremendously.

Hello Everyone! THANK YOU, Dr. Stephens for heeding the call!!!! ;-) I have dark marks caused by my glasses. What is the best product for this area of the face?
Omg. I'm so glad to find your channel. Love you!
Great video!
I am starting to see white spots on my legs and thighs .

What body oil did she show!? I did not see any links or the link to the body moisturizer video? Anyone have it?
Should I use both Skinfix products the scrub and pads on the same day?
All I can say is thank you! Very helpful!
