My air conditioner wasn't cooling my house I looked at this video and it gave me good tips I went outside and ran the water hose on it and it worked thanks for this video👍
Thanks for the video - it helped me fix my A/C not cooling fully problem. Only difference for me was that I have a Traine and I had to remove the top snd spray from the inside out. Lots of dirt and gunk came out on every side.
My AC wasn't cooling, and this fixed my problem. The radiator fins were covered in debris and I think it must have caused the unit to overheat or something. Thank you! :)
Hi guys, how are you? Thanks for the tutorial recommendation I liked it a lot and it helped me as an informative background justifying my suggestion regarding the maintenance of the Air Conditioning to my boss. Thank you have a good day.
One that was missed... OLD UNIT.... 35+ year old system. from 1982.. Still runs will zero leaks. Dose have a Capacitor Hard Start on it. Just had it checked and every time a new guys out the have been saying for 15 years now that I should get a new one... On really hot days like the one we just had that was 109 out the system ran 14+ hours none stop.. Water works so so good Im now going to add a mister to the AC as we still have some hot days left.
+mattsome thegreat - Although GOOD advice... But it's BEST to hose from BOTH SIDES..., the Outside and Inside. Also, I think these are professionals... Sometimes you DO NOT want People to take off the Lid because most People are Idiots... They don't SHUT -OFF Power or ANY POWER to clean etc... So they might hurt themselves, kill themselves, etc.... :((((. An AC cost LE$$ than DEAD Law Suits, LOL
Good video Question : I have a 1.5ton 220volts split unit AC. After few seconds of turning it on the clamp meter reads 22A then rise to reach 37A for few seconds then it stops and the clamp meter reads zero or 0.1A. What could be the problem?
I was having this problem with my AC. After rinsing the condenser (or compressor as I call it) ...I changed the filter *and placed a small FAN in front of the vent inside my home. No more freezing up* Apparently... my AC just needed more ventilation.
Do you need to trip the breaker so that no power is running to the unit or just go ahead and spray it out with water.. seems that you leave power connect.. just wondering
Sean Simo I was wondering the same thing lol,I read a lil further down an they said off so the fan doesn't come on while your cleaning it.Hope this helps you. :)
Best practice is to shut off power at the service disconnect. There is a breaker (or at least there should be) at the point where power comes from the house to the unit. With forced water there is a risk of hitting parts of the system that should remain dry.
my AC takes 25 to 35 minutes to go from 88 to 85F, condenser is clean, bigger pipe with insulation is cold, smaller pipe is warm. the junction between the 2 pipes got a hissing sound. is it Freon leaking? anything else other than Freon? how much to fix and refill? thanks
+michael atkinson If you have a freon leak it will show itself very clearly First the large pipe will freeze, and as it loses more refrigerant it will stop freezing and simply not cool. Refrigerant has a range of pressure/temp differential where in one zone it will freeze, but after losing enough refrigerant it will simply stop freezing and not cool. Call a good company to check it out. With AC, it is all about a proper install. Could be that whoever installed your AC did not size it right, or the ducts are wrong. Do research and call a reputable company. Cheers.
+michael atkinson By the way, AC is a complicated science. One problem disguises itself as another, but that is where hiring a good company comes in to play. Be warned, you WILL pay good money for proper AC service and repair. But a good company will also make it right if they misdiagnose, and a misdiagnosis is easy in this biz
nope no leak just checked. so 25 to 35 min to go from 88 to 85F is a problem? sometimes it takes 55 when it's hot outside. but once it reaches the temp it seems fine, just 8 min each time to maintain the temp. air comes out the vent is cold about 20F lower than room temp
Probably got some broken duct but you can put some tape on the inside of the vents that blow harder so the air is forces to the rest. Honestly will take a while. You can start with covering half up amd waiting a few days amd adjust from there either more or less. Just don't cover or close any up.
My AC just up and quit working last night. My thermal stat doesn't kick on, when the inside temp goes above the temp I've got it set for? I checked the breaker, and it didn't trip. The thermal stat shows the temp, but not kicking on. I have my house set at 70 degrees, but it won't go below 71, making it just keep running all of the time. This has gone on for a while before it stopped working. Why is that? I'm hoping that I just need a part fixed? Can anyone help me? Any advice would be grateful. Thx.
+electricsub Thank You! I found out that the problem was, that the light switch on the side of furnaces/AC, has a fuse under the square cap just below the switch. So I put a new one in, and it fired back up... Has been working great ever since. The thermostat batteries were good, BC the display was good. I just recently installed a new Honeywell Thermostat with wifi, which is amazing. I can change the temp from anywhere I am, just by using my cell. Worth every penny!! Thanks for the reply though.
when i tuning on my ac its running but suddenly stoped the outdoor unit and then suddenly starting again.and indoor motor unit also not running.please help
I have a tricky question my ststem is suppling cool air but thermostat says house is 80 in the house how can i get this temp down and so that unit turns off?
so i managed to get some information out of this that allowed me to trouble shoot my unit. i found out that my air filter was causing stress to my Ac unit, in turn it was overheating. After i removed my air filter cool air immediately proceeded to flow out. now i just have to find an air filter thats compatible
Why do you want to change the coil? You need to have the refrigerant recovered first. Knowingly releasing refrigerant is against the law and harmful to the environment. Disconnect the power. Cut refrigerant lines. Things you'll need to do the job. Recovery machine, Recovery tank, Manifold gauges, Vacuum gauge, Oxy-acetylene torch, Vacuum pump, tools and the knowledge to do the job. Your inside evaporator coil will probably need to be replacing also if it is old. Short answer is No. Let a professional do it for you. Your equipment will be installed correctly and will be covered under warranty too.
A'C units remove moisture from the air and it comes out of the drainage pipe. If the pipe is clogged some people use toilet cleaner, but I'd call a professional....
1st, WHERE are you looking for this "moisture" to be collecting at? I dont think you are looking for the right thing. You are looking for a drain pipe that exits your home. Could be PVC or copper. Could be at roof level or ground. Could have 1 or 2. Look around the perimeter. Mine is about 20' away. Or go in your attic and see where the pan under the a.c. drains to the pipe, and where it exits the house. It should drip water, not just collect moisture. A.C. units are extremely efficient in removing water. But much depends on your climate. I'm in Arizona, with very low humidity, and it's not uncommon to have more than 1 drop per second. Sometimes several. Sometimes a thin stream, even. If your pipes are clogged, you will see water in the pan in the attic. Maybe even a water spot on your ceiling. (NOT good). If your pan is flooded, turn the a.c. off. Get a wet/dry vac, and locate the pipe outside and get an airtight seal, and suck the stuff out. There are good videos on that. Then, after it is cleared, (if u don't have a copper pipe) pour a cup of bleach down there, like Donna said. 1 or 2 times a year. Reason for bleach is b/c the stuff clogging the pipe I BELIEVE is algae. Depending on how badly or how long the ceiling has had water, maybe need to call a pro. U don't want mold, or your unit to fall through a rotted ceiling.

hello sir ...I m Jignesh from India...I just know what is reason of my air conditioner not giving proper cooling sometime cool and than blow hot air...and some cut sound in a.c....Onida company a.c and 10 years I buy....
Nope. The inside usually doesn't even get dirty. Air is flowing into the coils, not out of it. If the iner coils do get dirty you have to remove the top of the system to properly clean it, in most cases..
thumbs up!! (I'm guessing the reason you didn't say to unplug it disconnect the power to the unit first is because of common knowledge/sense. electricity + water = bad news.)
These condensers get rained on, you know? The simple maintenance this video specified doesn't require pulling the fuse. You're not wrong either. All maintenance should first begin with pulling the power.
+ButtholeMagic I know that it gets rained on, some even get snowed and peed on like mine. animals pee on it. I was referring to when you pull the fan and sides off to get the leaves/helicopters/debris from inside of it.
*We're very happy with the unit. Pretty Easy to instal **Fastly.Cool** too.*

@Kribboy21 leave the unit off while cleaning the unit but once you are done you can turn it back on
When will you know if the unit needs freon?
Hi guys, how are you? Thanks for the tutorial recommendation I liked it a lot and it helped me as an informative background justifying my suggestion regarding the maintenance of the Air Conditioning to my boss. Thank you have a good day.
It might be nice to turn off the power from the breaker, otherwise you might get the shock of your life. This is from an AC Tech.
A torch can be used to remove cotton wood from spine and tube coils. They forget to mention that too. Lol
Not if its installed correctly.
wow this worked for me. thank you. I'm feeling the cool now. what a difference.

I have a portable room ac, would it be ok to hose down the condenser??
Cut the power, take top off, clean from the inside with garden hose pushing dirt and debris outward.
Thank you.
Never rinse from the outside in it defeats the purpose... take the time to take the lid off and rinse from the inside out. Well worth the effort.

Depends on which way the coil is made to be sprayed.
Thank you so so much

Thankyou gents for your knowledge
Can I turn the ac off from the ac unit or do I have to remove the actual fuse to do this?
if I hose at off while it is running will that do anything bad to it
My split AC cools well during the day. But at night. And it won't cool. But Immediately it day it works fine. Do I have to do connect something?
Thanks friends!
Thanks for sharing this with me
how often should i clean my a/c condenser?
Does this affect the heater in the winter
THANK YOU!

Very informative thank you. How long do you leave the unit off till you can turn it on, after wetting it?
Lol use your head- do you shut it off & wait for it to dry when it rains???
it's as important as the filter inside... Oh crap!

We got AC from the living room but on our bed room. What should we do?
AC not cooling. I see ants all in it.

well do you turn it off when its pouring rain??
No, But I'm not in physical contact with it either!

thanks for that. also it's cooler the last few days so it seems to tkae shorter time to cool down. when it was 115F it took a long time

Not cool split AC how to repair pls
you didn't mention about adding more freon.
hotpapayasalad my air-conditioning is on inside but the fan is not moving
Because you should never have to add freon.
Wow, I never knew how dirty my ac was.
Does it need to be off before i wet the outside
It is best to have it off while you are cleaning it so the fan doesnt come on while you are spraying it off
@@SimplyHomesNE a wet motor doesn't matter they are designed to be outside in the rain and to be wet.
do i rinse the unit while the A/C is on?
I used my shop vac I don't have to clean that nasty crap out if the bottom
That was weak--very weak
lol
looks like hail damage on that unit
