I’ve been doing AC work my whole life with my dad. He started showing me around 13-14 years old. I’m 33 now. I make good money thank god. When you have your hvac/epa and you know what you’re doing you’ll always have work and you can make basically tell them what you want an hour $ 1. Respect your worth never ask for more than you’re worth. Know your limits. 2. Have a solid understanding of electricity and wires. 3. Don’t buy cheap tools. Trust me. Spend the money they’ll pay for themselves.
What you need to do is put together a package deal, sort of like dvd segments and sell them. 12 dvd sets in a professional package and I think you will make a million. Thanks for your instructions. As a Maintenance person, you have helped me save many hours of hardship and cost to the company with your tips and tricks. Thanks again. I hope those adds are making the money you deserve.
Nothing like waking up to a scorching hot house. Thanks to this, i was able to easily diagnose my capacitor was bad. A trip to the hardware store and 10 minutes install, boom cold air again. Thank you so much!

@@shanedm3396 Hey Shane, I get mine from a wholesale distributor here in NC called United Refrigeration but they're available on Amazon also, hope this helps.
This was a very helpful video. I did not have cold air flow, even though it’s a brand new AC unit, and discovered my air filter was super dirty and stopping the air flow. After changing the filter, it still didn’t cool the house. I did a little more research and found out that if you have a clogged/dirty filter it can cause condensation to freeze. This keeps the air from flowing. So, once I changed the filter, I turned the AC off overnight to let the ice melt and now the AC works perfectly. I wanted to share in case someone else has the same issue. I found ice outside on the AC unit (in the middle of a hot summer day) and it felt like there might be some ice in an air duct.
This was excellent for helping me troubleshoot, im a low voltage electrician so I certainly am comfortable with figuring out my ac issues but didn't have a lot of experience in doing so, doesn't get much more clear than this guy's video. Thankyou man

Dang bro. Greatly appreciate these videos! Started working as a maintenance technician in an apartment complex and I've been dealing with nothing but HVAC lol
Sir! Thank you so much! This video lead me to your thermostat video, and the reason why my A/C unit was inoperative was due to low battery power. Changed out batteries and BOOM, A/C comes on. Thanks again.
Best HVAC/R channel in the industry, AND I always like to see your explanation about AC simple and Easy to understand. You are best and I really appreciate you for making this king of informative videos.
Thank you so much man! You are a Godsend! I ended up having a bad capacitor, it was making that exact sound that you displayed at 1:58. My new capacitor was smaller and I was concerned because the it had more prongs than the previous capacitor so I could not reconnect the wires exactly as in the before photo I took. For anyone who might be wondering, turned out it didn’t matter which of the prongs I reconnected the cable to so long as they went to the right function. Fan,common, and herm. Thanks for the time and money you’re saving us!
A stuck condenser fan motor is exactly what happened to my ac. Replaced it with a new one. Had to change my cap a month before that after finding out that my old cap needs replacement as well. All thanks to you. Btw, my unit is close to 18 yrs old.
all in all , i think you have a very good video , you just didnt cover much in my issue , which was the , HVAC float switch, also known as a condensate overflow switch or AC safety switch, is to prevent the drip pan from overflowing if the AC drain stops working properly. The AC float switch gives your AC unit the ability to detect if there is a clogged drain line and it shuts the AC off.
Simply Outstanding! You are a great educator. Very Thorough in your approach. You need to write a book and make it available for homeowners that have some mechanical skills, but far from you level of experience.
Hey boss, I don't know if it has been said before, but here goes. My particular problem came up with the seasonal change. Wiring my thermostat based on an old thermostat's Y2 label did me no favors. Luckily I remembered the fact that I changed it out before it started warming up. I checked the desired wiring on the thermostat manual and swapped the location of the yellow wire from a Y2 slot to the Y slot. This allowed the outside cooling system to actually engage. Without that simple change, it could have cost hundreds for a technician to find this or replace everything; then hide the fact that it was just one single wire out of place.
Good video, always fun. For a clogged drain I started using a shop vac (wet/dry) to suck the drain out. I had better luck than blowing especially if it had a vent on the line. I can just cover the vent with my hand ( or tape or something if I can't reach it). I carry a small one on my service truck.
Thank you for the tip! That's usually a better option then the compressed air. I had a small bottle of CO2 that was easier to carry around than an air compressor and had much more pressure so I usually just used that. Thanks for commenting, have a great week!
Thank you Jay! 1yr old “new” outside unit has died today 98 degrees! Great info before I call installer! New sub! 64yr widow.I’m gonna try the spinning fan hack. As far as I can tell all systems are go inside. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🥰🇺🇸

Your videos are amazing and so useful. I've been watching, but am in need of something a little different, namely, our forced-air system was badly installed. I'm told we have insufficient return air and that we need to improve our ductwork. Do you have, or can you make a video that would address some of the common issues found in a poorly installed system? We're in a townhouse and our middle floor never gets enough heat or cool, it's an inadequate flow and when it is scorching hot even the areas that usually get cooled are nearly impossible to cool. It's an old house and we definitely have insulation issues as well, but the system and how it was installed seems to be our biggest challenge. What would you recommend could be some fixes to improve it? Thanks so much!

OMG this guy is an American hero. 🥰
Thank u for the video
Record your temp at the vent and record it on the inside of the vent when your AC is working well so that you have a reference temp.
