Many mistakes are made very often, this shows how serious these mistakes can be. Some videos have even been cut short to not show any injuries.

2:13 This guy's not an idiot. He realized he had lost traction, came to a halt in as controlled a manner as possible, then corrected the situation by getting out of the way even though it meant he would be going in the opposite direction he originally intended to.
An idiot gets himself into that situation in the first place
He lost control because he took that corner too fast, in clearly sub-optimal driving conditions. His non-idiotic recovery doesn't erase the idiotic way he got there.

@@meatbleed That would be a pretty sorry excuse, considering there were cars the their left. It's also illegal to stop in the middle of the highway, not to mention incredibly dangerous. The driver with the dash cam didn't have another option. The cop should've waited.

Yep - what's why they have the emergency lights and sirens. My guess is that the cop didn't want the bike to know they were coming. Unfortunately, nobody else did either.
90% cops fault. 10% other drivers fault for not checking the mirror before changing lane.

The cammer at 8:08 is one of those purist "I insist on being proven correct" types. Yes, he was in the right at the outset and the other driver in the white van pulled a prick manouvre trying to force his way through at the last second. But once he'd done that, the cammer should've just expressed his frustration through a bit of beeping on the horn and then just let him in. Instead, the cammer persisted with trying to squeeze him out, but then ended up having to let him in anyway and possibly damaging his own car's bodywork into the bargain.
The best thing is, that all those people don't seem to be smart enough, to know you can always be captured on tape, especially in company cars. I'd contact his boss and get him fired immediately.

a very large percentage of the videos in these compilations' accidents could be easily avoidable if people weren't so selfish and just unwilling to give an inch ever
The van was zipper merging, perfectly legal and proper road use, the cammer was just being an idiot.
This is in Belgium and while overtaking on the right hand side is illegal here, zipper merging is actually compulsory so yes, total dickhead.
How is no one talking about 1:17? Man's driving on a suspended license, IN A ZOOM *COURT HEARING* about his suspended license. AND he has the balls to accuse *the Judge* of "having a bad day" (code for "on her period" IMHO). Absolute mad man.

I get the most pleasure when impatient drivers at railroad crossings total their cars because they can't wait 5 minutes.

It's the train driver (engineer) I feel sorry for. They can see the situation developing in front of them but there's not a damn thing they can do to prevent a collision.
They cut the first part of the video. The guy first leaves his car and "scouts" the tracks, then he confidently goes around and gets smacked!
I get even more pleasure when these morons drive too fast and crash even though signs are everywhere yelling at them to slow down on a sharp turn

2:00 you really need to submit this tape to the county prosecutor's office and the local police chief for possible charges and at least disciplinary action. this officer clearly violated the law and then retaliated against you for not Bowing down to his perceived authority immediately and without question. then he violated the law again to illegally pull you over to further assert his non existent athourity over the situation where he has none because no laws were broken by anyone but him.
unless it's an emergency and his lights are on he has to wait for a safe time to merge just like the rest of us. cops don't have special rights over civilians unless we violate the law. when no laws are broken we are all equal...
um mate if you have to yield for emergency vehicles when they have there lights on if you are on the same side of the road as them like in that clip think first then type that guy would get fined for every dollar he has
@@topgun1457 That's not what yield means. they are at a traffic stop. you can keep driving, you don't have to stop. The cop can't just suddenly pull out. if they had just activated the lights and sirens then yes, but it's the cops responsibility to merge back into traffic safely after the stop. they can't just pull out without warning

Here in America you only have to yield for emergency vehicles when they are actively running lights and sirens. Any other time law enforcement and emergency vehicles have to obey the laws like everyone else. So cops can't just cut you off and then pull you over for honking at them. At least not in this country. Maybe where you live they can but a little Google Foo will tell you I am correct here.

The guy um couldn’t um move um over mate. There was um a 18 wheeler then a car, cop has to safely merge not just force their um way in m80000000
Cop was a bonehead for sure, but some places legally require you to move over a lane. Doesn't matter if there's traffic there or not, it's required. In general, the law isn't enforced strictly because there are plenty of circumstances where cautiously proceeding in the right lane is safe, but I imagine the cop in this case got butthurt about the horn and decided to follow the letter of the law. Not sure taking it to the county prosecutor's office will help if that's the case where the cammer lives because technically he'd be breaking the law by staying in the right lane.
Personally I think it's a dumb law, considering coming to a stop in the right lane to wait for traffic to clear in the middle lane creates a dangerous scenario, but I don't write the laws. Politicians do.

at 6:56 I would not put that one on the driver, the road markings are very unclear about where the other side of the road is, good on the driver for recognizing that they were going on to the wrong side of the road.
There are white dotted lines that guide you to the proper lane.
You'd have to be drunk, dumb, or dead tired to drive on the wrong side of the road...

Sure there are other lines for other turns clearly going in a different direction but you'd have to be blind, drunk, and dumb to misunderstand them here. That's literally as bad as the hundreds of people who drive into my company's truck parking lot because they couldn't be bothered to turn left where the big signs say the road is closed ahead, and dead end. it's ridiculous.

Should be a policy everywhere: Cops see you "brake-checking" for any reason on camera or in person, you can regain your driver's licence next year after you pay the $1000 fine and do the driver training sentence.
That's about what will happen now. IF you are caught in my State, whatever way they get you ... initial local ticket for a 1st offense is $250 , PLUS a State surcharge of another $250 for "Aggressive driving". The State will notify your insurance company of the charge and presto !!!! ... your insurance premium will be doubled for at least the next three years. That should cost more than just $1000.
It's a really expensive, dangerous & idiotic temper tantrum.

I’m going to keep saying this. For people in the back, don’t drive around gates or don’t park your car on the tracks. Trains are heavy and travel fast. They can’t stop in time. Am I the only one who obeys that rule or other people do the same thing? Why can’t people follow simple rules like I can?

You should add - they are SILENT. You can't hear an electric train until its way too late. I was fishing on a railroad bridge and before you know it a train was coming fast and I thought - jump or squeeze to the edge. If I jumped it would have been over, so I squoze. Never again.
I once had a train stop and wait for me. It was just an engine and it wasn't moving fast. I was just following along in traffic and when they went across the tracks I said "Wait a minute. There's a train." I stopped and then the gate came down behind me. My friend who is an engineer told me if you're on the inside of the gate, they have to stop, no matter how long it takes. I said I should have gone back and forth a few times, like they do when we're waiting for them. He said "You'd have done it once."
Because the rules apply to everyone but them. Don't worry, if they saw _you_ breaking the rules, they would get all huffy about it just fine. 🤷🏼♀️
Screw the rules, how is it difficult to understand in general that a train will wreck your car or do they really not see one of the biggest vehicles??

😆 My Ex backed my old mini van into the neighbors home made steel bumper. Honestly it was a 12 year old minivan with 175k miles at the time. I wasn't even upset, and the neighbor thought it was hilarious (successful fieldtesting) . Ex was mad at me for have factory tinted windows (never would have happened if my windows weren't so dark).

My dad told me if I had a flat, and felt unsafe, to drive on the rim til I got home. Rims are easier to replace. Yes, I know how to change a tire.
@@athenathegreatandpowerful6365 rims are not easier to replace though... The tire alone is way easier than wheel+tire+potentially the whole car if you lost control and had an accident as a result. Rims are super slippery. For that matter, a tire is much easier to fix than a broken arm or a ruptured spleen.

1:58 - while that was a bonehead move on the part of the cop, there are also laws in multiple states that state when there is a fire truck, police car, ambulance, or tow truck in the roadway (on the shoulder or in a lane) with its emergency lights activated, you are to slow down and move over a lane. If you can't merge, you are to slow down and approach at a safe speed.

It is always amazing how many drivers will tailgate a driver that is acting unusual. Since they are acting unpredictably, there is a greater chance that they will do something to collide with you. Giving them space gives you more margin to avoid them.
Some people are straight up stupid and should not be ever allowed near a car.
So many of these are dumb mistakes turned far worse by other people doing stupid shit like just not letting the person who made a mistake merge. If you ever do something on the road out of spite or anger, you don't deserve a license.
I'm using these videos to shop for dashcams. Most of dashcams are absolutely awful and I'm just blown away by most of these catching plate numbers etc. so clearly.

These videos are why I will never drive a car, because I know I'd be the person to have someone brake-check me, and after a dozen or so times, I'd just accelerate and full-force rear-end their car.
